What armour do you prefer for your Shepard?

I use:
Armax Arsenal for the chest harness
Rosenkov Materials for shoulder pads
Hahne - Kedar for arms
N 7 for legs

I use Serrice council chest plate and shoulder guards. Hands and legs are N7. Too bad that it doesn't look like they have ME2 ammo pack part in the game(?).

Also, new N7 armour parts don't look the same. I'd prefer ME2 arms and legs (with or without ammo packs). ME3 legs have some kind of belt.

Oh man you know i miss those so much...they did a good job incorporating them into some of the newest chest harnesses - actually just one of them. I wish N7 had them.

So much this. Actually I was doing some musing on that last night. We've known for awhile that StarChild's voice is the child actor, overlaid with Jennifer Hale's voice on the left audio channel and Mark Meer's voice on the right audio channel. These voices, added with a "ghost echo" effect then make up the voice of the Catalyst. However, I noticed something last night; Shepard's voice has the exact same "ghost effect" applied throughout that entire scene. So femShep's voice in that scene is literally a 1:1 tone copy of Jen Hale's part of StarChild. Just musings on my part, but it does seem like another + for the Indoctrination Theory, and it being all in Shepard's head.

I would play the hell out of ME3 if they release DLC content that fixes the plot hole crap. Well, if it doesn't make it worse, that is. IF the indoctrination theory turns out to be true or if that ending turns out to only be only half the story and we come to find out that everything isn't quiet so horrible then I will never stop playing ME3. And heralded Bioware as the supreme game masters. Until the mythological 'Give Us Some F***ing Closure' and 'Fix ME2 Romances' DLC is released its just too depressing to play.

At this point, yes, seems indoctrination theory was the plan, but it got botched. So I REALLY REALLY hope ending DLC is actually implementing this and moving on to actual battles.   that way, those who liked the game can end there. those who did not can go on. not exactly win-win (they shot any true wins dead in the water) but at least things are cleared up.
if it's just 'ummm, you fanboys, here's some happy stuff," i'm going to be...

annoyed. severely.

i think the thing that pains me most is that when you do some sort of 'it was a dream' thing, you have to be careful. you have to then establish what IS reality and isn't, using the dream to further deepen the realm between real and not real. otherwise, you loose audience trust in the narrative, the world, the characters - everything. no one can be sure what's dream or real anymore. so you can't END with the dream moment. if you ended before the fight club reveal or when harry potter is at king's cross and just sTOP there, you couldn't really trust the ending or the world. you have to go back to the world and re-establish it. i mean, that's jsut basic storytelling. if they'd ended with a clear sense that you'd been indoctrinated and then ended it, rather than the hallucinator happy endings or whatever those were supposed to be, then it would be clear. everyone would clamor for the DLC, but we'd be like, oooh, cool and probably be annoyed it wasn't included with the game, but more willing to pay for it - at least i'm guessing so. but as it is, they wouldn't commit to anything - and in so doing, undermined everything.

Also, I still haven't mustered up the desire/willpower to play more than a few minutes of ME3. I got a xbox and a pc Collectors Edition and all they're doing is sitting there Collecting Dust.

This is me right there. Did my playthrough and to be honest i actually don't even know where my copy is anymore. It went missing when i cleaned the room 2 weeks ago and i've not bothered to find it. It seems that my only playthrough is one really expensive one.

About what armor my Shep wear, it's pretty much the standard N7 armor you get and add the Kawashi visor. The Aegis look out of place for me in ME3 so i actually didn't use it like i do in ME2. The armor is as dark as it's always been, Infiltrators do after all prefer not to be seen. The Black Widow sniper fits perfectly aswell so the "Dark Angel" is ready to kill

I still don't know if it's true but if you're a believer go to the second dream and just don't go to the kid right away at the end. That background wisper noise turns into this grinding mechanical scream that completely overpowers everything in the scene, like it's forcing you to go to the kid. I recorded it when it happened since I didn't remember it from the first playthrough, it was strange.

IIRC, if you try to run away from the kid, the game 'resets' your position and faces you towards where the kid is at before you can go very far.

Well that makes sense from a gameplay perspective they've only got so much of that little park rendered can't have Shepard running all over the place and finding out it's just a circle with invisible walls all around! Could clip through them and fall into nothing forever and ever.

Like I did in that one Mutiplayer match . . .

That was DJ's words there, not mine. I think the quote function attributed them to me.

But yeah. if indoctrination theory is true, it's still unclear if dream starts at run to beam halted by reaper, at suction into beam itself (you got past maurader shields, but the beam just enters your mind, not take you to citadel), after anderson dies and just final bit with starchild.

^ and THAT's a problem. it's not clear. given how when you bleed out, you appear to be bleeding from a fresh wound like the one you gave to anderson, and the mechanics of him getting to the station are whacky, i'd say that's probably dream, too. but that creepy keeper looking at you, that seems like what we've seen before, and rather realistic. so it's not clear. not clear when dream begins okay if you then establish boundaries of dream sequence after. not establishing them at all is wonky. you can't know if the 'end' is shep dreaming a happy place for her friends and her becoming a legend... i mean, i don't think my shep is that arrogant. so it's weird what's real and what's not. need DLC to establish.

just, seriously. massively curious how the writing is going to get them out of sinkhole the story fell into. indoctrination theory is one hell of a rope out of that pit, but it strikes me that ATM, it's not tied to anything real sturdy.

Yep, you need to play MP.

If you have a iPhone or iPad, you can also raise your EMS two other ways:

Mass Effect Infiltrator - $6.99
Mass Effect Datapad - Free

I keep my EMS maxed out at 100% every day with the datapad app. I think it took me about a week to get it that high -- you have to work to buy more ships, better repairs, and higher % of EMS, but once you unlock all that, it becomes pretty easy to maintain the score. I check the app twice a day for a total of what, five minutes to make sure my ships are deployed and earning money/readiness bonuses for me.

In light of how ME3 ended and the emotional impact it's had on us, Infiltrator feels like a waste of money. It's a good gaming app and you just collect the "intel" the mobs drop and redeem them to raise your EMS (or use them to buy weapons in the app). When my kid sees me playing ME and wants to "help," he runs to get the iPad and plays the Infiltrator and pretends he's playing alongside me. That's how similar the games are. Very well done.

The Datapad is the clear winner though. My last playthrough I got over 90 emails from various characters and I can see from other people that they got different emails than I did so it's mindblowing the amount of extra content the app offers.

yeah, i didn't catch that at first, but when the dream sequences where you're chasing after the kid end, there is a great reaper uh, groan? hum? - that's freaky mechanical RroooooAAAAArrrr the reapers do - just as you break out of the dream. i think it's loudest when the fire goes up around the kid AND shep together, but i was so distracted by the flames i didn't notice.

I caught that as well last night. The Reaper Roar starts as Shepard and the kid hug and then burn up together. If I had to follow the imagery, I'd say that's a pretty clear indicator that joining with the child means death or failure for Shepard (and thus for everyone). If this was meant to tie into something later, that would imply that both Synthesis and Control are equally "wrong" as they involve not defeating the Reapers, and in one case, even facilitating their agenda. Pure analytical speculation on my part based on available data but yes...interesting...

I think the problem with analyzing these things is that we inevitably have to try to make sense of where gameplay systems get in the way of the story, like how only the Destroy ending combined with a 4k+ EMS results in Shepard's survival. I have no idea if it was just there to pat the player on the back for playing MP or downloading the various apps, but the story implication (since that scene looks to be set amidst the London rubble) is that there is only one "real" ending, namely that one. Which, again, doesn't seem to fit with the structure of the series.

Can make your head spin if you try to make sense of all this illogical stuff.

Though the best reason I've heard from the indoc camp on why EMS makes a difference is that basically without the huge fleet and tons of ground forces the Reapers aren't concerned with Shepard, knowing they can crush everything she brought with ease. However when the fleet is massive and the ground forces are equally large in scale they're hedging their bets trying to ensure victory by removing what they see as one the greatest threats to them. Thus ramping up the illusion and providing Shepard with more false choices.

Though if this turns out to be the twist they made it as vague and as hard to follow as possible probably for very meta non-ingame reasons, mainly to keep everyone guessing until they have the DLC ending done. Though charging an extra $10 for the ending to an $60 - $80 game is another issue all together . . . a tacky explotative one.

Play MP with femsheppers, it's alot of fun =) If you lack people to add, check out the MP thread on the femshep.com forums about the subject. Alot of us have shared details there to be able to add eachother.
