Gwendolyn Shepard, reporting for duty.

She is my favorite character in the Mass Effect series. Hopefully I'll love her even more in ME3.

I must admit that I'm looking forward to checking out the character creator in the demo. I suspect I'll be tweaking her a bit more if I like the new options.

So, is this thread just for posting screenshots of various femSheps and the general one is for actual discussion or what?

@SolidBeast
No, it's not, we are just trying to get some stuff in here from the old thread :)
The threads are just specific to femShep & maleShep.

Dear god no. This is the first I've heard of this. Am I the only one that finds femShep's butchy movements make her a unique female protagonist? I am totally sick of all the posh females in videogames. Please, not another femHawke.

Oi, we've have this discussion and no it did not make her unique, it made her unfinished since she was using MaleShep's skeleton and anims. Or anims at least. Nobody ever asked to make FemShep girly just FYI. It SHOULD not be like FemHawke's strut. Hopefully.... Because that's not what was asked for.

We wont be getting femhawke dont worry about that!  There were rather obvious conflicts though between the two genders at times.  Some people liked it, others didnt.   I did a rather lengthy thread a few months ago about it.

http://social.biowar...3/index/7187121

Needless to say there was a wide variety of opinions.   Some like ME1 and others liked ME2 style.  So long as she doesnt walk with a "limp" (which was complained about heavily by maleshep fans also)  I think the vast majority will be happy.  Still we have no idea what Bioware have planned.  Animations range on a variety of things and Bioware were not at all specific.

So, there is now what is basically a picture-posting thread for male Shepard, one for female Shepard and one for both? I fail to see the point of this separation.

Exactly meonly.  The threads has only just started, we need topics to discuss. Which are starting to appear.  Pics are an easy way to get people involved to begin with as its nice and easy.  Beast, your making very quick judgements based on 3 pages of people excited about the separation.  Discussing animations for example is a bit more involved and will come in time when things settle down.    The fanbases are distinct so the seperation was needed IMO and I am sure for many others will agree.   My posts on the other pages explain the reasons why I feel it was needed.   Plus the discussions on the ME2 femshep thread are vast if you want to check them out. All soley based on her rather then her male counterpart.  This I know will continue here soon enough

B)

Anyway looking forward to seeing what this thread brings with the onset of the Demo and then with ME3.   Hope we can hit the staggering 1,700 pages the ME2 thread has!!!

:happy:

There are several topics on this page alone that you could discuss, if you are actually interested in participating in the thread.  If you want a thread locked for being pointless, you should PM a moderator with the reason.

I was not here to see it. I still stand by my opinion that it makes her unique, "unfinished" or no.

I have read through your thread and have got to say that I honestly don't remember noticing much difference from ME1-ME2 in femShep's animations, but that is probably due to playing through ME1 only once and a long time before the 2nd game, which I've replayed 8 or so times since. That said, I also do not remember thinking she was girly at all in the first game, so if the changes in 3 are minor, I will have no problem with them. Unfortunately, I have come to seriously doubt the devs' judgement lately, so a femHawke-like transformation wouldn't surprise me.

@MizzNaaa: Pretty fem Shep! :D

@fem Shep thread: I'm really happy that fem Shep is getting unique animations again (her ME1 walk was perfect!), but I do hope that they don't get too over the top like in DA2. The fem Hawke strut drove me up the wall. I felt like she was one wrong step away from throwing out her back.

Me neither. Even if there *was* discussion it could go into the main Shepard thread. That said we'll see in a few hours if Woo locks it or not.

Either way it's not that big of a deal.

Thing is we couldnt *discuss* something like animations for femshep in the other thread even if we wanted to. Maleshep fans dont care about things directly related to femshep and just ignore it and picture bomb to drown things out or carry on another convo of their own.  That was why that thread felt so horribly wrong as two sets of fans only cared about their own interests and made life as difficult for the other set of fans as they could.  It was just a fight of attrition between male and femshep fans and nothing was being gained.  Now the two different fan bases can talk amongst themselves freely.

Well might as well get some good discussion going then shouldn't we?

Firstly, i'm looking forward to the femshep redesign in ME3. In my opinion, femshep's all largely look the same using the ME1-2 editor without the use of mod's or heavy (and I mean heavy) editing. I think this is mostly caused by the limited hair styles available, but I think a good chunk of it is in the editor too.

With that in mind, does any of you have any good tips for building a "unique" femshep?

Well for me I usually start with the hair or I plan out basic things (hair and eye color along with skin color) I'd aslo suggest creating a "guinea pig" Shepard for CC practice. I have one and she has alot of versions but they get better as I go along.Posted Image

Yes I'm curious as to how much better the faces have become. I've got my code securely saved and my import. I think I've perfected my Shep but if the base faces have changed she may not even look exactly the same. Plus I'm using a modded texture to boot...

It's very likely I'll have to redesign. As for tips I try to be as symmetrical as I can be. I looked at my own face in a hand mirror while making my Shep and calculating the distance between eyes, nose, lips, chin and temples are to each other by inches or finger widths.

And save your face code to as text file on your desktop in case you need a redo or two, or three or four..
No I kid not. :P

I think that's how Celyn does it too, she'd be like what? Shepard doesn't sneaze!

Oh please. Yes yes you could. You could even invite the male Shep players to add in what they felt was wrong with male Shep's animations (because his sucked pretty hard too) and had a general "what's wrong with Shep's animations." discussion going on.

There was no fight from what I've seen other than at the very beginning and people got over it.

You guys just want an exclusive club. Which is fine but be honest about it. Not this "but there was no discussion!" nonsense.
