Okay, took me a while to put this thought into words.

I am done defending my own feelings on the ending. My feeling flux between negative and confused and back again and I think it's perfectly justified. And I'm done defending myself or others for feeling the same way.

You want this to be a thread for FemShep's cheerleaders, fine. I'm sorry, I'm not a cheerleader. I do not chant slogans regardless of what's happening on the field. I am a gamer. But I get that others don't want the play-by-play, so I'm out for now.

I'll be back when I have something to cheer. hopefully monday will have a fic update.

later.

Anyone tried to mod Iconic FemShep's hair and textures on ELE's version? I'm really curious as to how it'd look like.

Yanno now I'm curious too.  I kind of forgot I made this for fun back when.

Looking at it again though is interesting...they actually glammed up the default face even more than the concept art.  The concept art lacks the deep red lipstick and heavy eyeshadow.  Hrmmm.

*fires up ME3*

@sage...it's a shame the general environment of the thread/this forum has come to this, regardless of opinion, I think the endings have created a lot of speculation and argument...and not the positive kind.  For what it's worth, you have voiced exactly what I have been feeling, and I appreciate that.

You're right; I'm not a cheerleader either and i'm not planning on being one ever. If you have something to say i'll guarantee you that i will listen/read - so far i haven't heard anything  too off topic from you...

Well Leggy 2 The dicussion has deviated form femshep SEVERAL times in regards to the ending into "I like it" "I hate it" "I was right" etc etc. That has nothing to do with the best female lead in gaming history now does it? It also leads to people getting upset and offended adn that's not the purpose of the thread. it's to dicuss female Commander Shepard, not ooinions on how the game ended. Shepard doesn't have opinions on the ending because she's not outside the 4th all, so please stick to content before the conduit and hopefully everyone can avoid fighting about that since that's where he majority of the game enjoyment comes from.

Wat.  Half of this thread and the old ME2 version were fourth-wall-breaking shenanigans between FemSheps and players.

I'm not going to deny that ending discussion has become the main point of discussion in every thread on the forum, this one included, but you aren't a moderator.  You can't just forbid people from discussing the game after the beam run.

Personally I don't have much to say on the subject besides occasionally replying to people in agreement, but I'm just telling you now that you'll be doing your blood pressure a favor if you let this one go.  It's just like the old ME2 forums when people occasionally got angry about Horizon being brought up in the old Virmire Survivor threads ("because we've talked it to death and it makes people fight!").  You may be sick of hearing about it but at the end of the day it's a public thread in a public forum and if people want to talk about the endings in relation to their FemSheps, there's no rule that says they can't.  Some people have gotten off-topic about it but the majority of posts commenting on the endings have been in relation to FemShep.

Speaking as someone who has been in some heated threads about endings... this thread has been far from hostile. People expressed their opinions in relations to their Shepard that is all.
the only time I ever picked up any hostility is when people start trying to dictate what can be said and what can't be said in discussion of how it relates to our many Female Shepard's be it game canon or head canon.

Tangents happen in any discussion and things shift back. They ONLY time and I mean only any hostility has been expressed is when the policing starts.

That is all I have to say on the matter.

I like how you designed Anya's face by the way. I'm always partial to the hooked nose and short hairstyle.

Thank you!

And I completely agree. I wanted to give her face a certain severity, but also some more classically beautiful traits (i.e. the big lips, eyes, etc.). She doesn't think of herself as beautiful, and isn't really aware of how striking her features are, despite what Kaidan says (hah). But that's mainly because she doesn't let herself think about it, because she doesn't want it to influence how she thinks about herself or interacts with others.

Anyway, typing that made me realize that I just jumped into this thread and starting spamming my Shepard everywhere with no real introduction!

Anja Shepard is a Colonist and Sole Survivor, so she's seen a lot of loss in her life. She was an only child, and her mother was Russian and her father was German. They were ecological scientists and, of course, farmers on Mindoir. She used to have long, wavy red hair, and once she joined the Alliance military, took to wearing it in a long, low braid which became something of a trademark for her as she quickly made a reputation for herself.

But after what happened on Akuze, she cut it all off and never looked back. She never let that experience dull her capacity for empathy, however. As an unrepentent Paragon, she always makes an effort to get to know her crew and those whose lives are in her hands. Her worst nightmare would be a repeat of what happened to her squad on Akuze, and she's vowed to herself never to let anything like that happen again. This makes her fiercely protective of those she cares about. She took Ashley's loss incredibly hard, and has a healthy dose of survivor's guilt after her revival in ME2, considering her past.

She remained loyal to Kaidan throughout all three games. He was just the perfect match for her; her grounding force, but also someone with whom she shares mutual respect and admiration. She admires his control and intelligence, he admires her charisma and leadership abilities. They both admire each other's biotic abilities (she is a Vanguard). By Mass Effect 3, their love has deepened into something truly strong and enduring.

Aaand here are some pictures!

I honestly can't say how glad I am that this thread exists. I know it sounds super cheesy, but I didn't even realize how much I needed a place like this to show off my Femshep and see all of yours, who care as deeply about your own Shepards and their faces and stories. All my dude friends who play Mass Effect just use the default Sheploo and have no desire to hear me go on about this stuff (and my boyfriend is DEFINITELY sick of it, hahaha) so I needed SOME sort of outlet because I really put a lot of thought and time into my version of who Shepard is. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one!

I don't play her as myself... but she has come to represent a lot of what I want to be as a woman. I've honestly found that trying to act like her IRL has made me able to carry myself with more poise and confidence, and if nothing else, makes me think more before I open my mouth.
ANYWAY hi guys

Not a lot of perspective being displayed on either "side". It's this kind of absence of humility that kills boards. You have one "side" saying I wish there were "Mass Effect fans in here" which is a covert slap against people that have been expressing their displeasure with (insert complaint). Basically saying they aren't true fans of the franchise if they criticize. Can we say passive agressive?

On the other "side" you have the equally "perspective challenged" response of labeling the person or people that would like to see less negativity as "Cheerleaders". A galactically condescending slap. And since no one is willing to look in the mirror and say "Gee, if maybe if I was just a TEENY bit less (insert flaw), when posting, it could satisfy both "sides"".

But since humility is dead, no one can learn because all of our f*cking cups are "full".

I'm fine with all of you and am not on either "side" of this (If I'm not interested, I won't read it).Just hate to see people going at each other over a video game. I mean......if we all try to picture ourselves recounting this dispute to one of our business associates, parents or relegious leaders, it might make us all laugh and see how silly this is.

I would hope anyway. Then again, I could be wrong. Usually am (Have a wife and 3 daughters).

Okay sermon over.

SO...I still don't have an in-game screenshot of my femshep because I refuse to fire up the game again until I hear some good news regarding the new "content initiatives" Bioware's taking in April.

Therefore, I shall sit here alone in the house ON A Friday night and drink myself to death while all my housemates are out for the weekend doing whatever. aaaaaaaaahhh, I honestly wish I hadn't come across that extended dialogue/conversation between femshep/Anderson...christ, this is so depressing. I haven't felt this down since...forever and that too over a stupid video game. I put my whole life on hold for 3 weeks only to become emotionally and physically deprived (messed up my sleep and workout schedule) and only to come out on top with no satisfaction or closure whatsoever. And know I'm just stuck in this state reminiscing about the past and...being utterly depressed.

I'm sorry guys, for venting out my frustrations here....there's really no other place where I can talk about this, and I just felt I had to let it out.

It's all right. That piece between Anderson and Shepard was hard to listen to anyway. I feel your pain...I'll be spending my friday night with my Shep Jane going forward in her 2nd playthrough.

RE: the ending, I've been really miserable about it too. I've already posted my thoughts about it far more in depth on other forums... so this thread, for me, for now, really is just a chance to reflect on my Shepard and what I do still love about Mass Effect (i.e. literally everything else).

And yeah, oh god, that extended dialogue with Anderson absolutely destroyed me the first time I heard it.

That being said, I chose the Destroy ending, and then Photoshopped this to help along my own head-canon:

It's a shame that this thread has taken a negative turn this afternoon and I hope that no one intends on leaving for good. The ending discussion can get tiresome and repetitive, but it is relevant to Femshep and I never felt it was off topic. It would be nice to focus more on other aspects of the game, however.

And ADLegend, if you're so concerned about the state of this thread I find it curious that you haven't taken the time to remind others about quoting and reposting entire picture series. I know that in the old thread, to cut back on clutter, it was standard etiquette to snip most pictures being quoted. Thought I'd bring it up again since we're on the topic of, well, what's on-topic for the official Femshep thread.

Anyhow.

Merylisk, I really enjoyed reading your background for Anya. She stands out.
