I have to admit, seeing the new Jessica whatever character sort of made me roll my eyes. I was like, "Okay, why does that tank top have to be so stupidly tight? Doesn't anyone other than femshep dress with any sense of 'I don't want my wachungas hanging out for all the world to see?'"

But then I realized James Vega was dressed in the male equivalent thereof, so I decided it's alright if it's equal opportunity spandex.

Thanks you so much. I agree so much.

It's funny that just a few seconds of this trailer with FemShep made me more excited than the rest of the trailers combined together

Wachungas? So that's what you call them... interesting. I honestly don't see the rage over it. Its a tank top, and we just had someone on the ship who wore a harness. Granted her chest was small, but unless they do uncomfortably close shots of her chest is it really any more suggestive than seeing someone walking down the street in a tank top?

I'm pretty ok with people wearing that sort of thing around the Normandy, myself. It is, after all, their casual attire. Their between-missions clothing. Their slacking shirts. When they start walking into firefights in it, then I'll have issues. It's not really 'sexualisation!' for me - though that does come into it as well, I'd say - but practicality. Bulky man soldiers wearing half a car into battle is arguably as sexualised as a skin tight cleavage suit, but at least it has the advantage of making some kind of practical sense. Gaping holes in the armour where the chest (and by virtue, most of the vital organs) are don't particularly.

But like I said, what they wear around the Normandy is neither here nor there to me. And I'd agree that Vega and such are effectively wearing the same thing in that regard anyway.

Also, uh... something about Femshep. See? Post is relevant.

Wachungas. That's the technical term, yes.

:P

I must admit that this is part of why I prefer femshep. With femshep in the room and dressed like a sane soldier (full armor on mission, casual uniform on ship), it just looks better to me in overall design. The insanity of  Miranda's high heels or Jack's belt bra or Samara's uniform being cut down to there don't bug me as much. I feel like I can chalk it up to them being weird like that. And then Jacob's got that weirda**...whatever his uniform is. They're Cerberus and they're all crazy. Whatever, right?

But when I play dudeshep, it seems less 'that's them as characters' and more that the gals are there to look smexytimes and not be taken seriously. I think it's because the only counterpoint to their insane dressing is Kasumi, and even her look is a little tight.

Eh, mebbe that's just me. I guess my point is, that when I play femshep, the resulting story seems SO far removed from the dudeshep marketing aimed at the 'target demographic' that I can enjoy the characters for what they are, and their design for what it is, even if it's a little less practical than i'd like in terms of dress. with dudeshep in the room, however, i just find it such a james bondish fantasy that I have a hard time taking the NPCs seriously.

That's my opinion.  I'm definitely okay with it.

Also, are they adding blood and grime effects?! 'Cause that would be awesome instead of everyone being squeaky clean all the time.

To be fair, it's not like Jack was showing much and what she was showing turned off a lot of people once she spoke. On Miranda, its easy to see the "bond girl" influences easily. Personally I like Femshep for the reasons you mentioned, except when she's talking to Jacob for some reason. Outside of that she's either a very hard nosed no nonsense soldier or a bleeding heart crusader trying to fix things. There's no hint of sexuality as a defining part of her character.

As for this reporter, all we have is a picture of someone in a tanktop. No one here's worn a tanktop before without reducing themelves to a sexual "thing?"

Since they didn't use new default red hair FemShep that makes these pics the first custom ME3 Shep.

Well, I'm glad that Bioware interviewed FShep's voice actress. Nice touch, putting it out there on the webs.

Not too pleased with the amount of time people actually SAW FShep. It was sort of like a Blink and Miss It situation. You couldn't even really see her face. She looked like she was yet another person running away from **** that was exploding. Hell. Male Shep had way more face time, and Mark Meer didn't even get an interview.

Bioware dudes. I know you are trying, but I don't get it. Why are so scared of showing the Lady Shep in an actual scene where you can see her talk, and people can make the obvious association of 'Oh! I guess Sexy Man Shepard doesn't hog the spotlight all the time'.

Just saying, Bioware. I'll call you on your ****.

Um... That hairstyle is the new old "classy" hairstyle which new FemShep seem to wear?

Just guessing but I'm betting they are hiding Femshep's face on purpose to reveal it in the Femshep Trailer. Just a guess.

@ HolyJellyfish

I didn't personally get a 'we're sort of skittering around the edges of actually showing femshep because we're afraid to' vibe from it. I got more of a 'teaser to pique people's interests/nod to the people who're wanting this kind of thing in the marketing' kind of thing.

And possibly a slight 'look, see, we're actually working on her, ok? Here she is. Please stop asking about when her trailer is out, we're begging you' vibe.

Just so I'm not the only one seeing red.  I know my eyes are bad but I'm pretty sure that's red hair.  It may not be the "default" hairstyle gamers voted for but it is red from what I can tell.

@Yakko,
Totally not the only one. Looks like she has auburn red hair. What most non-color-from-a-bottle red heads have.
