Sorry to break up the current conversation (I have some catching up to do, apparently) but I could really use some help with Alliance Military information. I'm fleshing out Devi's background a bit more and I'm having a real hard time finding information on training requirements, award types, etc.. The Mass Effect Wiki hasn't been the most helpful, surprisingly. If anyone wants to send a few tips my way, I'd much appreciate it! (Military jargon screws with my brain)

Something more along the lines of what Steve Cortez would talk about. Training and qualifications and what type of awards are given out. How they are phrased. This is all so unfamiliar to me, even though all I plan to do is come up with a brief list of accomplishments. Just haven't found much detailed info in the Wiki. Maybe I am blind.

Femshep fanthread being about femshep, yes. So no, not the Jacob fanthread, but also no, not necessarily the thread to ****** on characters other actually like.. Especially seeing Femshep can romance Jacob (and quite a few here in the thread have).
The question is not whether or not you're allowed to voice an opinion when it's a negative one, the question is how important do you think your opinion of Jacob is when it makes others feel potentially sh*t, and you don't care for him either way. And when you decide to do it, how you do it.
hey, this whole damn forum is full of opinions, both positive and negative, even this thread has negative posts...
and where the **** did i say people who like jacob are stupid...all i said is that Jacob is stupid...
any of you saying i cant voice an opinion, even if it is negative can go **** yourselves.....take a long look in the ****ing mirror before you cast the first stone
there are a few of you who like to fling crap around, and you are always the first to have a go at someone else....and im not gonna take that from those of you who do this

Hey Chugster, you might want to dial it down a notch or three. Thanks.

From what I understand, you need to read Anderson's dossier that he forwarded on Kai Leng (after the attack on Citadel happens/Udina's coup). I can't remember if this arrives via email or the Shadow Broker terminal in Liara's room, but Shepard needs to read it before seeing Miranda in the spectre room on Citadel. Once Shepard reads the dossier, he will automatically mention it to Miranda (there's no dialogue choice to pick -- it just comes out) and Miranda will say, "Kai Leng? That slippery bastard's still alive?"Countess Cutlass wrote...
Is there a time limit to mentioning Kai Leng? I'm not totally sure if he mentioned Kai Leng at all, which is probably what went wrong there!
Is that from the iPhone app? Even if you romanced him? Goodness, just pour salt all over the Jacobmaners's wounds, Bioware. Ugh.
Edit: Oh, and refusing to help her (after she says she can't tell you why and she will understand) will also get her killed.
Edit 2: I haven't run my Jacob romance game so I got that on a regular playthrough. I have no idea if a Jacobmancer gets anything special email-wise. I doubt it.

Miranda died in my playthrough. I'm not sure if it's because of anything stated above, buuut the game did decide to lock me out of Presidium Commons after some point and didn't get to meet Miranda one last time before that fateful mission. I was assuming it was because of that. I really hope they fixed that bug in the patch...Gilsa wrote...

She's always had a biotic bonus power though. I had to give her throw when I first created her in ME1, as it was the only achievement I had unlocked that she could use at the time, so I came up with a reason for her to have it in her back story. Throw wasn't available in ME2 so she got stasis in it's place, and she had slam in ME3 until I unlocked stasis. It's find it strange to play her without stasis as I'm so used to her having it. I couldn't get to the med-bay quick enough once it was unlocked in ME3.
Oh and thank you for the nice comments.

I looked up Miranda on the wiki. Sheesh. So many ways for her to die. Keeping her alive should be an achievement! Turns out that if she was NOT loyal from ME2, she will still die regardless of being warned about Kai Leng. Break up with her? Dead. Don't give her alliance resources? Dead. Don't warn her about Kai Leng? Dead.nranola wrote...

Aren't soldiers the best? Course I'm biased........
I always chose my bonus power based on role play reasoning. It never felt completely right to equip my soldier character with a biotic power and I always limited myself to something like carnage, shield bonuses, or ammo powers. I don't mind relying on my squadmates for power usage.

Oh, and this some how seems to be how the crew of the Normandy would spend much of their time. The guy's a Real Life US Navy submariner, and some of the stuff he's put up is WAY too close to home, and you all won't get it. But the comic would fit.

To Keep Miri Alive... you have too.
1. accept all of her requests for meetings.
2. warn her about Kai Leng
3. give her the resources she asks for in the last meeting.
Yeah, she has to be loyal, and if your a male shep you would need to continue the romance with her as well...

Yeah, but remember you basically had to want her to die in order to lose her in ME2. She's nigh-invulnerable unless you send her into the vents.

I think not doing her loyalty mission in 2 also gets her killed in three, cause I was comparing with a friend and she lived for me, died for him, same choices bar that one though. Could be one of us remembered choices wrong, but that was our conclusion.nranola wrote...

Bio:
Spacer
War Hero
Sentinel
ME 3 Bonus Power at the beginning - Slam( will probadly switch to Carnage later on)
Preferred Weapons : Assault Rifles, SMGs, though she has been practicing with her sniper rifle( she is dating Garrus after all).
Paragade( Heavier on Paragon though) in ME 2( didn't play ME 1 due to my dislike of sentinels in that game but has a ME 1 history thanks to the Genesis DLC)
romance : Garrus of course...LOL.
interesting tidbits...name comes from Gianna Parasini...bonus power in ME 2 was slam at first and finished with Reave. She is my first ME 2 on the pc character created...was intended to be a throw away, and just open up all the bonus powers for my ME 1 imports but because I loved her story n how she played as a sentinel...I decided she would become one of my major girls
