I don't personally understand the splitting thing at all. I don't see why people jump back to old thread.

Or how about hanging around here instead of trying to keep an outdated thread alive? That's not meant as a jab. It just sucks that Femshep fans are splitting like this, especially the ones who have posted for some time.

If by outdated, you mean that there weren't any people trying to tell everyone else what was and was not acceptable to discuss, then I prefer outdated.  I'll count this thread as worth my time once we don't have certain parties taking an autocratic approach to it.  The femShep community is (or was) bigger than any one person.  The "outdated" thread was immune to trolling and any potential arguments were quickly resolved because it was a community effort that presented a united front.  Everyone realized that just because you might be a higher-profile figure, due to fan art production or community projects like starting threads or websites, those things didn't give you a right to dictate the course of the community response to those things.  It was not about you, it was about femShep.

The older thread wasn't immune to trolling and I see very little trolling here. Unless you consider disagreements about the ending to be trolling, then we're going to have to disagree on that point. This current thread has been remarkably tame, in my opinion. Maybe it's because I spend a lot of time in the more argumentative and vicious parts of the internet that I've become more tolerant of how some posts are worded......or maybe some members are being overly sensitive about what is said.

I agree that it sucks. I blame the polarizing effect of ME3 and the shoddy handling of the ending and certain romances and characters, but the fact remains that there are now tensions where none existed before.  There have been splits all throughout the community of BioWare fans and it seems the femShep fans aren't immune this time.

I'll spend time here again once people realize that discussing femShep in any and all capacities is acceptable and no longer try to squelch topics they don't personally care for.

If you're talking about ADLegend's earlier posts, guess what, they've had close to no effect on how people are posting in this thread. I can't think of any other way topics were squelched unless it was for the sake of--I don't know---keeping a bright and cheery atmosphere around here.

It's obvious that you guys still want to talk about Mass Effect which is why you've gone back to the older thread. I just see no real good reason why those conversations can't be brought over here. It's not like one person decides what direction this thread takes. It requires input from everybody.

Frankly, this all strikes me as cliqueish behavior. If I'm completely off the mark with that remark, my apologies.

@JECW -- I had to laugh because my Shepard was the only blond character I ever made at the time. She was intended to be my throw-away character, but she won me over. I gravitate towards brown hair/brown eye combos the vast majority of the time. =D Your Liv is adorable. I like the bangs on her.

Your shepard looks great as a blond.
I tend to go for the for the darker hair too. I don't think any of my shepards would look good as a blond anyway.
Thank you for your compliment on Liv. I was going to use Allers hair but it just crashed my game.

you STILL don't get it. The topic of "I like the endings vs I don't like the endings" is NOT Femshep discussion. It's purely based on someone's point of view with the endings and NOT their Shepard's decision making going into the endings. I told oyu this via PM and you still don't seem to understand it's potential to cause a FLAME WAR and get this thread closed down. I didn't grill Stanley Woo to allow us to have a thread in this secion of the forums to have it closed by an off topic flame war of "You're stupid for liking/disliking the endings" the endings are a perfectly acceptable discussion topic as long as it's "_____ Shepard picked control/synthesis/destroy because she_____" instead of "You're too stupid to see what bioware wanted" or "you're stupid for liking such game killing Material" Personal attacks will never be an accepted part of this thread. Ever.

But there has been an effect on who is posting in this thread.  Certain former regulars--AislinnTrista, sagequeen, Jaime and others--have been conspicuously absent, partly because, at least according to the sentiments I've seen them express here on the boards, they no longer feel supported by the femShep community as a whole.

I think a lot of people just have no concept of how hurtful ME3 was to some of us.  The dismissive attitude that resulted from that lack of empathy was hurtful in its own right.  People will forgive a lot of things fairly easily, but being told your emotions are unacceptable isn't one of them.

And that's my last word on the subject.  I only popped back in here because I saw sage and Jaime's posts on my frontpage.  The femShep community, and by extension this thread, is not an autocracy, and until people stop treating it as one, I'll shut up and make myself scarce.

Aislinn stopped posting because she feels her posts get ignored and then there are people who, like recently with Jacob, weren't sensitive to how the thane romance played out in ME3, Jamie still posts, so does Sage, so does Red and Ottemis. It's not as bad as you're making it out to be. If you don't want to post fine, see ya.

I don't think you should speak for anyone but yourself Sable Phoenix . If other wish to bring up a point, they're adults, they can do it themselves. They might even have the sense to not do it openly in this thread.
Things are as complicated as you choose to make them, in the end.

Also, thanks for popping by to kick over some stones and ****** on the bushes. Nothing like derailing a thread to prove a point then take your leave so the regulars can deal with the mess hmm?

Personally the only reason you'd see me ever leaving this thread it's because people can't just act their age, and stuff like this keeps rearing it's ugly head every once and again. Pointless drama. I shouldn't even care, but then I care about this thread and this community, so it's inevitably part of it.

I don't see anyone causing flame war as you claimed, oh wait... I found one. It's you, actually.
Ending discussion regarding femshep whatsoever has been pretty peaceful and constructive on this thread, apart from your bashing other people.

It's not like you're entitled to say people should or should not say something, are you?
Besides, I think Woo and moderators would be able to see what is bad/off topic and what is not.

You? I couldn't care less.

I like the cut of your jib.

Sable Phoenix, in the past I enjoyed hearing your input on the subject of Femshep and Mass Effect in general, but you are being a tad dramatic and if there is anything more divisive than "trolling", it's coming in here to point out how dismal you find this thread to be and how much better you think the other one is in comparison.

No one should have to feel like they are walking on egg shells so as to avoid scaring older members into going back to the original thread.

Yeah, it was me. :wizard:

That took me an hour and a half to do in Photoshop - had to play through the ME3 Demo three times and switch out the Coalesced file each time to change Shepard's outfit: one for the male casual (for the jacket), one for the female casual (to get the top), and one for the female underwear model (to get a shot of FemShep's neck without that damn necklace of her casual outfit)

I had started a 'shopped pic showing FemShep in the full outfit with jeans, but after ME3 came out, I never got around to finishing it.

This.

I understand that the ebb and flow of threads changes over time and eventually a thread you used to love becomes one you have little interest in posting in anymore.  That's just how these long-term threads work.  There's no shame in deciding that one has changed to the point where you don't care to post in it anymore, but I'm getting a bit tired of reading all the announcements about it.  Just stop posting, no one needs a dramatic "OKAY EVERYONE I AM GOING NOW BECAUSE I THINK YOU SUCK" exit.

"And let me openly ask so-and-so why they haven't joined me in the other thread!"

Which is why this all strikes me as cliqueish behavior. Sometimes I wonder if one reason why I'm seeing some of these reactions is because of the influx of newer members.

I've had disagreements with certain viewpoints in the past but that hasn't stopped me from posting. Until someone sends me a d_ck picture attached to hate mail because of something I posted here, it's all good.

That said, I forgot to comment on AVPens manipulation. Maybe Bioware will be so kind as to release a jacket that looks half as good as the one AV photoshopped.

No and yes. I feel the hoodie is kinda out of place and I just can't picture my femshep wearing it. But she's a proud N7, though.

Wait, what the hell happened to the calm and collected quiet of the Femshep thread? Isn't there some game parallel I can bring in here? Geth/Quarians? Krogan/Turians? Guys, stop bashing characters/each other/anything that moves and get back to the topic in the title.

Highlights make quite a bit difference. I had to play around with those quite a bit and now the result is much better than CC colour variant I used before. Heck, I had to change pretty much every colour value except skin tone and lip related things to get the look right. Hair, highlights, eye brows, eye shadow ("brow tint"), eye liner ("eye shadow"), blush and iris colours.
