It's difficult to make an "about my Shep" post out of the blue. The best way I've seen to coax out info about others' Sheps is to ask open-ended questions, like how they spent their time while in Alliance custody (reading sagequeen's fic was fascinating in that regard) or what kind of food they liked growing up.
Growing up, apple pie was one of Deirdre's favorite desserts. Colonists on Mindoir have learned to accommodate it with local exotic flavors over the years. It did appear - and taste - quite different from the original recipe. Deirdre enjoyed eating eat along with her Shirley Temple - grenadine/soda water/orange juice - on hot Mindoir afternoon. It became part of her daily routine.
She doesn't come across that particular recipe anymore, as it was just a local specialty; she couldn't bear the smell or taste of it, and the flow of resurgent memories associated to it.
