Yeah, same. I actually preferred both the walking and running animations in ME2. In combat, it looks like she's now gliding across the battlefield (when she's not automatically teleporting every 2 seconds.... lol Charge) AND don't even get me started on the non-combat walking/running animations.

That non-combat jog is atrocious. She looks like a crab hobbling across the sand. I always mumble "crab, crab, crab" with each step taken when I'm cruising through the Citadel. I'll take a more masculine jog any day over that.

@Krayzi: You and your Miss Congeniality.

LMAO... these were same kinds of things I was thinking when I first played through the game myself... {smilie}

So, I guess I'm the odd one, then, because I liked her jog on the Citadel in ME3. I didn't like the sprint, though. That just looked odd.

I don't know if this was common knowledge or what, but boy, was I blown away when I saw that the omnitool blade design changed based on class. My main is a soldier and I thought the blade that we saw in promos and the one we stab Kai Leng with was THE omniblade everyone used. I loaded up my infiltrator and engineer to compare.

Soldier -- Simple, nothing fancy.

Engineer -- Red explosives.

Infiltrator -- Blue electrical sparks

I am in awe of how majestic and unique each of them are. I think this could really be a fantastic way to show off your Shep's uniqueness -- battle pics of the badass omniblades!

Haha, this just keeps getting better and better. I LOVE IT.

Edit: I actually would have never realized that was the omniblade. I would have thought that it was a class spell effect. Doh.

The Engineer omni-blade melee always reminded me of a Sailor Moon move. Nice shots, Gilsa.

Actually, the omniblade used to execute Kai Leng is the same for everyone, no matter the class (it's the one soldier uses)

Since the Vanguard class doesn't get an omni-blade, I was disappointed to see my Shepard not using her Biotic Punch heavy melee for that execution.

So, Was I!

That's the one thing about that scene that annoys me...it's not class sepcific to the kill...because then we would all hav intersting different looking screenshot effects when taking that one...

Pretty much how I feel. I actually felt the animations from ME2 fit my Shepard's personality well.

ok i know i may be flamed for this, but does anyone think some of these beautiful texmodded Sheps are too good looking to be professional soldiers?

IMO Barbie Shepard looks a bit out of place in the ME universe.....they do look great though

Thanks! Oh and it's Tiia, with two i's. ;)

My favourite omniblade is either the one that soldier uses or infiltrators. Vanguard's biotic punch is a bit lame. It lacks something.

Eh, its a space opera.  Why shouldn't the heroine be beautiful if that is what the player wants?  Also: remember Sheploo is a male model who is very nice looking.

No, Shepard looks how she looks, is who she is. Nobody stopped her from becoming a soldier for being pretty or ugly, and that's aside from that being a completely subjective thing. Nobody picked her to be the savior of the galaxy, she just rose to the occasion again and again.

The beauty of Femshep is that she can be all these faces realisticly, because appearance doesn't and SHOULD mean nothing.

And because it fits the subject matter, here's something awesome.

Uh yeah...I agree with everything Ottemis said...and who said that good looking women (or men for that matter) can't fight or aren't professionals?

dont get me wrong, im not saying Shep should be ugly but there is a limit, not sure when Shep manages to keep that flawless makeup from smudging and stuff

Sexy is good but should Shep really look like she belongs on a catwalk instead of a battlefield?

I personally don't like a lot of those texmods because they give Femshep's face a plastic-y doll-like appearance, and it weirds me out.  But in terms of just being very pretty and girly-looking?

I really liked reading about Katrina Hodge.  She's a soldier who was nicknamed "Combat Barbie" and also won the Miss England competition in 2009 (doing rifle drills for the talent portion, I believe).  She also got a commendation for bravery after tackling and disarming a man who was holding them at gunpoint in Iraq.

Image IPB

So no, professional soldiers can be beautiful and girly and done-up if they so choose to be.

ETA:  She specifically entered the Miss England pageant to try and break precisely this stereotype about women in the military.

RE: tsuedo children

For Kallen Grunt is her Krogan son since she "birthed" him from the tank and taught him how to fight and be nice when the fighting stops. EDI would be more like a friend she got out of an abusive household because EDI was already smart, helpful and a great memeber of the crew. after Joker gets her cerberus shackles off she's elevated to part of her full potential and the android body in three helps her reach a state of near organicism (if that's even a word) because of Shepard helping her. they're both incredible dynamics and I'm glad they gave EDI a body.

Are you talking about facial features or makeup? If it's makeup, then yeah, I've always had a preference for a more toned down look. Some like to doll their characters up and if that's what they like, more power to them.

no such thing as "looking too good". Appearance has no bearing on success outside of athletics where height and weight can have influence on your success based on the sport you play. In war it's whoever knows more about combat. to quote someone from naruto:

"A master with a rock can beat a novice with a shuriken."
