A question for everyone, here.

Do you see a female human MP character similar to any of your FemSheps?

If you mean in the sense they kick a lot off butt? Yes. If in the sense there's a story behind them? Yes. Do I take care in tailoring their look if I'm able? Yes.

:)

Shepard isn't the only hero out there. She's just the one Bioware is telling the story with.

Edit.

Wrex is pretty badass, but Grunt is just adorable.

I'm always very aware that i'm not playing Shepard in Mp. I hardly see any similarities even when i pick the same class. It such a different mindset than SP. Armors probably add to that feeling too.
I wish we had more choices to personalize our MP characters - i wish we could customized their faces or armors - If there's a ME after Shepard MP approach could be promising - being able to create a character from any race, any background(merc, soldier or justicar) would be great.

@Yukidama Someone with more technical no-how needs to put in hearts and swirls for that gif. The Sentinel cross move is my favorite.

Hehe. Re: Pretty Sheps, Esperanza was never intended to be very pretty, so much. She was intended to look a bit scary. She decidedly has a 'strong' face, with complexion 2's wrinkles and scars, but... Well.
Image IPB
She sure has her covergirl moments, in my opinion. Though they're getting fewer. Her scars are coming back. I will enter a more detailed report later!

I'd just like to say something about the age topic quick:

I used to dislike FemSheps that looked young. I had a beef over the default Shepard designs because she looked too young. But you know...I realized how a Shepard looked had nothing to do with their capabilities. At all. Do you know how many pretty women are in the army? In the Air Force? Heck, I'm going into the Air Force and I'm a 5ft 3inch ginger.

Also, it was silly of me to dislike young looking Sheps when my own Sheps looked fairly young. I mean, you saw Naomi. How old does she look to you? ;) Sure she looks tired, maybe a bit lanky thanks to her biotic metabolism, but she looks 23 - 24 when Shepard's age is 29 or 32. So, I realized it was silly to have a problem with it all...especially when I'm 22 and have been told I look 15. XD

Ashwraith: (is watching Anderson's last moments): Abluubluubluuuuuu everyone I loved is gone~ ;n;
...Oh, hey, wait, they cut part of his speech? To the YouTube!

Anderson: I don't know, Shepard. I think you'd make a great mom.

Ashwraith: ...BAAAAAAW HAW HAW HAW HAW

Well, the advantage to playing an almost pure Renegade character is that, if nothing else, she'd put the fear of god into the little bats if they got out of line.

"Do you want to be defenestrated? DO YOU?!"

(Though, that said, it would make everyone think twice about bullying you. "So, you think picking on my kid is funny? Do you also think FIRE is funny?")

Oh, Anderson. You always know how to make me feel better.

Well, here's an in-game reference point.

Kahlee Sanders is 48.

And humans can live up to 150 years.

And apparently be brought back from the dead.

So. *shrug*

Okay the Shepard looks to young argument makes me want to bash my head in the wall.

Let me be very clear. 30 is not as freaking old as people seems to think considering that human live to be 150 in this game. 100 years ago when people hit 30 they might have started looking 'old.' But diet, hygiene, genetics, medical health keep you looking youthful.

Oh and thank you for insulting half the 30+ female posters in the thread. <_<

well, we all know that when you hit 30 your ****** hit the floor and it's all downhill from there.

shocking image, really.

oh, wait.

i think, to complete the 'let's be clear' - its actually that dude shep looks a little OLD for 29, not that femshep looks young for that age.

I LOVE that woman. I got to that point in the game and was like, omg. wow. it's a blonde. and she's kicking ass. i feel like this is the mom that kyrie lost all those years ago.

only, like, if she was shep's mom, she'd have been a rather young mom. :P

How old is Anderson anyhow? I would think that he's around the same age as Sanders. Yet he looks so much older....

I have an ongoing joke with my boyfriend that his human female vanguard is an AU of Esperanza. "What if she hadn't gotten decorated over Akuze?"

Could be true for mine as well. And yeah, compulsive backstorier here, so my favorite multiplayer characters have some story to them. (Kathy the adept and Kate the vanguard are twins! They joined N7! They fight crim-- err, reapers!)

Ok. I think it's interesting that as far as character design goes---and not the player's character in particular--male characters still look much more weathered than their female counterparts. He's only two years older than Sanders.

well there you go. clearly in the future, men age by 5 years for every 1 year a woman ages.

edit: ninjaed by flies!  but yeah. clearly this is a discrepancy in character design on the whole, not just for femshep.

Clearly, Sheploo looks more like he is in his 40s. Anderson looks older. Even Kaidan has grey hair on his temples. (Or at least it looks that way) Yet Miranda is 37.

Is it wrong that I think it's because we're still not as accepting of the appearance of older women? Yeah, I'm generalizing a bit, but why else would so many male characters look their age or older while it's the opposite for female characters.

That is exactly what we were talking about on mumble just now Flies. Older men supposedly look distinguished and refined. While signs of aging it a no no for women.

Well that is a little off topic so here is random picture of bald Zody!

Ugh, and how I hate that sentiment (and the accompanying bit of "wisdom", that men age like wine and women like milk:huh:).  The only distinguished older woman I can think of in Mass Effect is Dr.Chakwas (someone please give more examples). The designers were probably more comfortable designing a male Shepard that looked rugged and mortal, as opposed to the rather ageless looking default female Shepard and her fellow counterparts that never made it off the drawing table.

But I'm guilty of this too. Sometimes my characters look younger than they should.....<_<

i think so, red. also, zody looks adorable bald.

but i think the same thing of kyrie. sometimes she looks youngish, but most of the time she looks 30 to me. i think it's the paragon puppy eyes that do it sometimes. renegade moments, she totally doesn't look young.

Image IPB

30?

Image IPB

30?

Image IPB

is 36 ^

so...

yeah.

Also, no matter what she looks like (and hey, there's only so much you can do given the 3 complexions offered in game. complexion #2 does not look 'old' so much as oddly weathered around the mouth but not anywhere else, imo)..

but no matter what she looks like, jen hale's voice makes me never mistake femshep for some little girl. that's what i'm sayin'

@meonlyred: Your characters look their age so need to worry if that was your intention.

@Sable: I feel the same about Devi. Sometimes she looks older, even elegant. And then sometimes, maybe thanks to lighting and that ever present swan neck, she looks a bit too youthful. Something about the eyes growing twice their size depending on the expression.

The young, Disney-like version:

And then she looks more suited for the role of hero:

Tell me about it. I want that nose on my face. It's so streamlined from the side view too:

I'm also a real big fan of the hooked nose. Don't see it often enough.
