I hope we can all move past this as well. It wasn't as perfect a it sounded but the old thread didn't have to deal with a projected future destroying ending because that's what happens with the Mass Relay's being gone. We can all agree that the endings are very polarizing and it's hard for people to talk about them without things getting personal and not being centered around their Shepard's in the endings and their feelings since they're living it while we watch. certain posts had nothing to do with femshep and everything to do about the posters That sort of off topic infighting is what gets threads closed and I know we all don't want to see this thread closed. Hopefully with the new DLC coming out we at least get a look at how the world fares after the Reapers and hopefully THAT will lead to better discussion and less of what spurred sage to make her excellent post and hopefully we can all be friends again like we were in the ME2 thread.

To me this just outline the fact that many species probably followed the reapers after developing a similar logic. My wish would have been for TIM to follow that logic instead of beeing indoctrinated.

I could fake it, if it really makes you feel better:
Holly Shepard is a straight up Paragon with a small streak of Renegade. I like to think of her as a combination between Jean Luc Picard and Ripley from Aliens. Strong, diplomatic and intelligent when she needs to be. Total bad*ss when she has to be.

I will actually write down my Shepard's background. It will be lengthy (unlike my usual one liners) and it might take some time to finish it. I'm not a good writer, never have been (and upper secondary school Finnish teacher seems to agree...) but I hope that people will find it interesting and worth to read.

I haven't been posting in this thread because I have nothing to be happy about. The entirety of the last game was a giant sucker punch in the gut for me. Why bring my anger and misery in here and spoil things? I prefer to just remain in my corner, because I'm honestly no where near over this. I have no pictures to share, no good moments to talk about, no supposedly good discussion to add. I haven't touched Mass Effect at all, save for occasional MP.

Tiia is too cool not to have a background.
I'm working on mine as well, right now. It just takes too long - specially the mission on Akuze...

Earthborn, Ruthless (though she calls it "practical"), Renegade, Vanguard. Siri was in love with Kaidan, but...Garrus won. Best friends: Garrus, Anderson - Siri adopted him as her father
Shadow Broker dossier (or interesting facts if you prefer

Well, here is mine (a very short version)

My Jane (Earthborn/Soldier/Sole Survivor) is Paragade. Full Paragon is not her option. She can't always control her emotions. Most of the time she tries to stay calm. And if she can't she usually feels guilty because she said or did something wrong. Jane doesn’t like conflicts, but she also doesn’t like when people become rude with her or with her friends. When Jane was a child, she was very shy and timid. But in the Military Academy she has changed a lot.
Jane was born and grew up on Earth. The streets of big city were her home. Later she and her friend joined the criminal gang. At the age of eighteen Jane has left the gang and decided to enter to the Military Academy. She always dreamed to command a spaceship. After five years of training she became a great soldier. One of the best along the graduates of the Academy.
She always wanted to command her own space ship, but she really didn’t want to become a Spectre. But on the other hand she was very proud of herself.
Jane takes losses hard inside her. Akuze was a serious trial for her. She had lost two best friends that night. After this she felt that something died inside her. Jane didn’t know if she wants to serve in space troops or not. So she asked her commanding officers to give her some time. She had to think and visit the relatives of her friends who did not survived on Akuze. But she couldn't do that because she was given assignment to a new spaceship. The “Normandy”.
After Virmire she cried in her quarters, when there was no one around. Ashley was a good friend and Jane will never forget her. And Saren... Jane also wanted to save him.
Another serious trial for her was Alkera. When Jane visited the Normandy crash site she felt that she has lost a pert of herself. She was not the same Jane who she was before. She wanted to stop the Collectors not only because they atteked human colonies, but also she wantet to avenge her first ship and those who died when the Collectors attacked the "Normandy SR-1"
Leaving the Earth and seeing the Reapers destroy everything Jane felt like something had died inside her. The Reapers hit Jane straight into her heart. She swore to do everything she can to save her homeworld.

What's your Shep's general alignment (paragon/renegade) and did it change significantly over the 3 games? Also, do you think that change reflects a change in character (your character significantly became kinder or tougher, or whatever) or was that just because bioware changed up the way they assigned points?
Me, I think I said before I went from 90/10 to 70/30 to 60/40 paragon/renegade through me1, 2, and 3. Weirdly, however, that growing renegade streak actually corresponded with what i thought was a growing sense of conviction in shepard to 'do the right thing,' but that would mean taking tough choices upon herself and cutting certain people less slack. She tends to talk a big renegade/neutral game, but makes a lot of paragon decisions. so i really felt that was the way BW assigned points that made her renegade score shoot up so high. although, i would have pulled a LOT more renegade persuades in me2 if i'd been able to. i seriously wanted that renegade persuade for the thane interrogation scene. "I'm a spectre. End discussion"
I think this mostly relates to how BW handled the Renegade over the course of the three games. In ME1 and ME2 it was a lot more about "mwahaha I am just MEAN! Gonna go haul off an punch a mentally ill guy in the face for lulz!" In ME3 in particular, Renegade is toned down a lot.
During my Renegade ME3 run I kept wincing, waiting for those unpredictable Renegade moments that would make me go "wow, Shep, you are... kinda crazy" and they never happened. Renegade dialogue options were just slightly harsher versions of Paragon in ME3, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand, it might signify a move beyond "Jesus vs Hitler" in BW's morality systems, where you can pick "renegade" or "mean" options without being a ridiculous Snidely Whiplash jerkface, and that is something I 100% approve of. In ME3, though, it boils down to a lot less variation between playthroughs.
None of these moments in ME3:

Which isn't really a bad thing, but it sure did make the interrupt system a lot more boring.

Okay, here's a first Screenshot of Bailie, can't really say a lot about her right now as I haven't fully fleshed out her backstory yet, but she's a spacer like Talia
- machiavellian snip -
I know that I choose this combo for almost all my femSheps, but it's the one I can get behind the easiest.
For instance I could not play a ruthless Shepard, there has to be something of "me" in there or what I would like to be
This brings us to a question that came up in the old thread (dunno if it was here already)
How much of yourself do you put into your Shepard.
You know, personality traits and stuff like that

We're doing a second project, The Tribute! We're gathering letters, fanart and screenshots and sending it to Bioware. For letters, write about what your Shepard sees in their LI, what drew them together? How do you see their relationship play out through the games? Have fun roleplaying! All the screenshots and fanart of Shepard and their LI you can muster will be accepted!
Deadline is the 25th, so if you weren't able to participate in The PAX LI Appreciation Project (or if you did and want to show that you won't be silenced) please show your support for Shepard and their LI, here: http://social.biowar...ndex/11315889/1

This is actually I really good idea. I know Mass Effect has fitted the hybrid "Action/RPG" genre in Biowares eyes, but to everyone else it has and always will be a Space Opera. This should be in the forefront of their minds because this is what it is! This is a great idea and hopefully this reminds them of that

Backstory. Oh dear, here we go!
CAROLINE ANDREA SHEPARD
Analytical, methodical, pragmatic
Born 04.11.2154 Mindoir Colony

Mother: Hannah Shepard [11.5.2130 - 3.25.2170]
Father: Sam Shepard [12.28.2128 - 3.25.2170]
Brother: Noah Shepard [3.16.2165 - 3.25.2170]
Nothing notable about her childhood, outside a penchant for solitude. She liked tech and hunting [imagine many a quiet hour sitting in the deerblind] No surprise - she's an infiltrator.
School, friends, arguments with her parents over being too young for a boyfriend.
Standard stuff until the raid, of which she has little to no memory.
She was buried in rubble during an artillery attack, her next recollection is waking up in an Alliance hospital with nothing to go back to.
16 at the time, she floated around for a few years, got lost in the cracks, tested out of high school, toiled at a minimum wage job until she enlisted when she turned 18.
Stand aside Vega, Caroline already has her fair share of tattoos from this 3 years period.

Consider it catharsis for Mindoir, and it all has meaning.
Of course it's all gone now, thanks to Lazarus. Here's the full story.
TORFAN

Events of Torfan are often exaggerated or outright falsehoods. She does nothing to combat the rumors, they suit her purposes just fine, and keep others at a comfortable arms distance.
You want to know if they're true or not... the stories about me. Did you ever notice with stories like that, everyone says they heard it from someone who was there. But then when you ask *that* person, they say *they* heard it from someone who was there. It's nothing new, really. I bet if you went back two thousand years, you'd hear a couple of centurions standing around, yakking about how Tertius lopped off the heads of some Carthaginian prisoners. --Spiers; Band of Brothers
ME1-ME3: Alignment

ME1: Renegade completionist. We're talking the full bit: killing Shiala, wiping out the colonists. Outside of intimidates, I took a lot of neutral dialogue options. The idea was to make her cold, but not a sociopath. She has a reason behind everything she does - if you want to distill it down it's "take no chances, leave no loose ends" renegade.
ME2: Probably close to 50/50; with non-persuades leaning towards neutral-renegade. Skipped a lot of interrupts in lieu of intimidate dialogue (ie Al-Jilani, the Dantius Tower merc.) She's a cold-hard pragmatist renegade...not a guns-blazing reporter-punching renegade
She keeps what she can use, regardless of alignment. The council is alive. She kept the genophage cure.
ME3: Haven't played it through completely yet. Will likely be a continuation of ME2 tactics...which is to say on a case-by case basis. No Lola, thanks. She destroys the Reapers; The End. If any of my Shepards are going out in a blaze of glory, it's her. But I think she's waking up in the rubble...I think she's earned it. Besides, I can't write more fic if she's dead. Duh.
If she had a theme song it would be this: Pink Floyd; Coming Back to Life
