Well, that's actually interesting to me. How many people have a Yournamehere Shepard? How well did you do with the creator and choices? Any hiccups?

My canon shep has my name. I never used to get creative at naming until seeing all the awesome differences in the femSheps. Now I have a list of others. But canon was my first runthrough EVER, back when ME was brand-spanking-just-tore-off-the-cellophane-new. I modeled her after myself, as I usualy do... again un-creative. It never quite looked perfect, considering she still had that sort of femShep look from the first game, but I liked her. Her moral decisions were based loosely on ones I would make, priorities I would have. Only after did I flesh out her backstory and motivations. But she's still one of my favorite Sheps that I replay again and again throughout the series.

Edit: TOP. Crap... Someone help me out. >lack 'o' screenies<

Asche is and has always been mostly paragon with some renegade thrown in when appropriate. Her goal has always been to save everyone, give everyone that second chance, be the white knight, do the right thing.

Always. Posted Image

It bites her in the behind alot. She rewrote the heretic Geth, for instance. She's a paladin who is mourning the whole galaxy. She fighting for the whole galaxy, not just earth. Destroying that Batarian system just about killed her. She considers that a failure, worse than Thessia. Thessia she blames on the Asari. :) She stayed true to Kaidan.

Evie is a survivor. She survived Earth. She survived Akuze. She defied death. She hates not being in control and that bleeds into her renegade choices. Even so, I barely got the red endings for her in ME1 and 2. To her, it would be stupid to punch the reporter or treat the council so rudely.
Or to betray the friends she finally made, who depend on her, with lies and deceit.

Except where Kaidan was concerned. He threw her for a loop de loop on Horizon. His inability to look beyond the Cerberus trappings and immediately think the worst of her drove her right into Jacob's arms. The biggest mistake of her life. Any military defeats meant nothing.

Having a second chance with Kaidan didn't mean she didn't punch that Quarian for firing on the Geth dreadnought with her still in it though.

Tiia was born on Mindoir, though her parents just moved to there. She was healthy little roll with adorable smile that made the nurses happy. Her grandparents from mother’s side stayed on Earth (Tiia’s fathers parents died in a “car” accident when he was 30 years old). Tiia was rather easy baby, though, she cried like a foghorn when she was hungry so it was obvious that she was able to be demanding when needed, heh. That was good thing in the future.

When she was a teenager she started to play ice hockey (luckily there was one ice hockey hall). Not in a team but just gliding around with the puck. She also watched ice hockey streams from Earth often. There weren’t many girls that shared the same enthusiasm so eventually she started playing with boys and kind of earned their respect.

Sometimes she wanted to be alone and in those cases she climbed on nearby hill and watched the sunset. She really liked it and she really enjoyed to see the stars show up one by one and colony lights light up bellow. Occasionally she was lost in the moment there and lost the track of time. You can guess that her parents weren’t always too happy about that. “Where the hell is that girl again?!” Her dad was a bit vocal about it. Other than few lectures about coming home at certain time she didn’t run into any unusual trouble. She did sometimes do some pranks with her friends that did or didn’t end up well. After one prank that involved eggs, whipped cream and neighbors fly car she and her friends ended up with sore butts. When she did that she was fourteen.

Tiia was never the popular girl and never made fuss about herself and she never was that vocal. She didn’t have any rivals or enemies so to speak and didn’t run into trouble. All in all she was rather normal kid. A bit quiet maybe, who liked to be alone sometimes but enjoyed being part of a team. In retrospect I guess that the fact that she liked to play ice hockey and work in a team helped her in the future. No one leaves behind and everyone must work as a team –attitude really showed in collector base attack. At this point however she had no idea that she would be commander Shepard of Alliance Military, though. She lived in the moment.

Some might have had crush on her but she’s pretty damn blind when it comes to love and to be honest, she was too young to care. She was happy and everything was more or less fine before the slavers raided Mindoir.
That raid was devastating experience to Tiia. She lost everything; it was like the world ended that day. She didn’t really talk about what happened on Mindoir. It was too painful. She used to cry alone thinking about her parents. First two years after that incident weren’t easy. She didn’t enjoy being with other people and just did her own things. It was hard for people around her too.

She moved to Earth and started basic military training in Finland and lived with her grandparents (who were rather old) few years. After basic training was complete, she decided to continue military career. Deep down inside I guess she wanted to prevent other horrible situations like Mindoir from happening so she was motivated. Military people spotted her talent and her determination. She never tried to impress anyone and let the results speak for themselves. This eventually made her N7 program candidate and when she was offered the spot, it didn’t take long before she accepted it. She put everything she had into military training. When she had free time, she did take long walks alone thinking about past, maybe with a tear or two flowing down her cheek when no one was nearby.

Before she was assigned to Normandy, she had to go through the hell on Akuze. It was another blow that hit her hard. She was close to crack but something kept her from doing so. She felt like she let those other people down and abandoned them, kinda like on Mindoir. At first she kept blaming herself for letting her unit down, let people behind. She also kept thinking why she survived on Mindoir and on Akuzen when others didn’t. It took time to accept the fact that she couldn’t have done anything to save them. It wasn’t really her fault. In the end I think that what she gone through after Mindoir helped her to overcome the traumatic situation she had on Akuze. It was surprising that she actually survived all these two major incidents and stayed sane. Still, she doesn’t like to open old wounds.

Few things about her private life after Mindoir. She never had a boyfriend. Kaidan was first to try but she managed to miss that opportunity and since she had such awesome social skills, she missed every other possible love interest. She was also extremely dedicated to military, almost too much, so she didn’t really have "life" in few first years. Eventually she learned how to relax and loosen up a bit.

After that, well, you know what happened. She was assigned to Normandy. Normandy become her new family to replace the one she lost. She used to be the only child but now she had brothers, sisters and friends.

Loooong time lurker (longer than I dare to admit, but let's just say well back into the old ME2 thread). Delurking to say this has always been a great place for discussion, sharing and general femshep love - and it's been sad to see things fracturing a little since the ME3 launch. The posts of the last few pages have been really encouraging to read - and, well darn it, have even prompted me to come out of the shadows. Long may the femshep thread continue with its amazing community of talented members.

As for me and my Sheps, well, I have two, one paragon, one renegade. Only the paragon has made it into ME3 so far.

Here is Jade Shepard: spacer, war hero, adept and loyal Liaramancer all the way from ME1. Not great quality, but I'm on an Xbox so have to use my camera:
- machiavellian snip -

Alignment is around 80-20 paragon in all three games. Never really considered her whole back story or character arc, but am always impressed by the thought and detail that goes into those posted here by others.

Since there's little to motivate me to actually do a lot of gameplay these days, I tend to just continuously tweak Rhea, since I've had trouble bringing her likeness over into ME3. I'm getting closer, I think:

I love reading all those femsheps background!

I'll try to introduce my Shepard properly without going into an unreadable wall of text.

Margaret Emma is one of those babies born into a taxi, except that you have to trade the taxi with a space ship, and the fact that she never really left this kind of life for all her childhood. As a spacer, she never had what people call "home", even if she likes to joke about space being such. As a military child, family was more about shifting from ship to another ship every 6 months and being either with Dad or Mom than the traditional "Daddy and Mommy with Baby together". And even with that, all was still about work and little time left for being a parent. Add the fact that there isn't usually children in space ships and you gets the picture of almost 11 years of life in an adult world with barely any contact with grounded life.
Then, there were school, boring, grounded school... and boys... which shaped a lonely girl into a rebellious teenager: if she was not good enough for her parents to pay attention to her, they had some headaches with reports from the teachers about last Margaret Emma's exploit on "how to make people go mad in one hour". Marga, as she enjoyed to be called at this time, leaded a dissolute life made by a total uninterest in studying, superficials relationship of all kinds and moving from space station to space station. At 17, it's the final rupture with her parents, she cut all ties, took an apartment with boyfriend, throw the boyfriend out, kept the apartment. Then, after one year of little jobs she never cared to keep, got no money, no diploma worth mentionning, still hate school, enlist at the Alliance. Then, biotic training, pistol training, adept classe, promoted to space marine due to space previous experience, LOVE it, stay in the Alliance.
Posted Image
This reluctant recruit quickly realized that she was pretty good at all this military thing, not the best some said but she has the merit to master her biotics before a lot of her promotion and well, if she wasn't an emphatic leader for the moment, it would eventually come with time. So, she was assigned in the squad of marines sent into Akuze for investigating the sudden disappearance of all signals coming from the colony, the only biotic among them.
Shepard's report said they landed at nightfall near the desert colony, effectively, all comm' system were dark, the AA guns protecting the colony were disconnected as well... so, the team agreed on staying for the night to fix it and beginning the research at dawn. As Margaret couldn't do anything about tech, she went out of the colony to see the countryside and smoke one or two cigarets... but she had to return in hurry to the colony because of the threwsher maw's overwhelming force was destroying the buildings where the team assigned to reestablish comm link were. The public know the vids in which Shepard is recognisable by the blue aura of her biotic barrier, trying to escape the maw' spit of acid, the tentacles trying to grab her without forgetting the slaughter of the others marines. But they only seemed to remember that it was she who actionned the AA guns, repaired in hurry during the attack, and made the threwsher maw leave.
When Margaret Emma think of Akuze, she remember when she awake in a hospital bed, when she looked at the reflect on the screen, at the face of a woman staring at her with a tumefied face. Then, the doctor came. He told her that she was in coma for several days and she had severals injuries, both internal and external, the most important being a head trauma. She was picked up by a rescue team half dead, warned by a beacon activated by herself before falling inconscious and there were nobody else who made it back. He was sorry. Margaret stayed a long time at the hospital. Her mother visited her, brushing off their old grudges. Her father didn't. Hannah Shepard was really supportive toward her daughter future recovery but sooner or later, she had to return to her duties as officer. She never accepted that Margaret Emma was changed forever, that she couldn't do it alone, that she wasn't able to read mails anymore.
Everybody doubted her aptitude as being able to retake her job as before, she lost too much, they said, there is no way someone like her can be expected to be able to be a good officer, they said. Some months after being out of hospital, she was asked to join the N7 program. Some years later, Margaret Emma Shepard was the first human Spectre.

I hope this can give you an overall of the character pre-ME, as it build roots for the "Why" of her today's views. Alas, I think I failed at the "not-too-wall-of-text" part so, I will not develop the ME part.
Roughly, for all the three games, Margaret has 100% Paragon with like 5-10% Renegade explained mostly by clumsyness (I never succeed at keeping all the colonists alive). Most of it because, since Akuze, she value life above all, incounsciouly, it might be a way for her to have some kind of pay-back for all the lives lost on Akuze. In ME2, because, funnily, a lot of paragon dialogue options were about saying that Cerberus sucked and was evuul, so, it fit totally the character Posted Image. Also, since Akuze, she adopted a more friendly attitude toward people because the long time she passed alone in hospital made her realized how empty was her life and how difficult it was to port when you have no reals friends. And her alexia obliged her to speak to people to know them instead of reading their service record, reading VI are so boring in fact.
So, in terms of game mechanism, her "alignement" didn't really change but the reasons which motivate it does (so, it is the scenario "all is in my head").

'To answer Sage's question a few pages back:

The battle’s done and we kind of won, so we sing our victory cheer. Where do we go from here?

- from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Once More with Feeling

Her fans called her a happy accident and yet, most who rallied around femshep clamored for more recognition. They … we wrote, posted, tweeted, generally made noise and braved insults until BioWare finally listened. Femshep appeared on the cover of both the standard and CE of Mass Effect 3, she got her own video, her own animations, and so much more. Jennifer Hale appeared in numerous interviews before and after the release of the game, and about half of the reviews I read on ME3 refer to Shepard as her. Femshep even got her own high res default model. In other words, we won.

So, where do we go from here?

The femshep thread was born with a singular purpose; to gain recognition for one of the best protagonists in gaming. It was a movement of solidarity that erupted into a fandom.  And like any fandom it sprouted passion in the form of art, fiction, essays, videos, pics, etc, etc, etc.  And also, like any other fandom, friendships grew out of the passion. But the driving force behind the fandom was always “femshep doesn’t get enough recognition.”  It was a cause we were all rallying behind. Even if the intent of a bit of fiction or art was merely to celebrate femshep, it ultimately echoed the sentiment. Why was there so much femshep art and such to begin with?  Because there was a hole. She wasn’t represented.  Now she is and I have to ask again, where do we go from here?

And now Mass Effect 3 has come and gone. Commander Shepard’s story has been told. It’s over. Yes there will be DLC, but nothing past “clarifying” the ending.  For some players femshep was just a fling like any other video game character and they will move on gladly. For others she has been in our lives for five years and it will be damned hard to get her out, assuming we want her out at all. But the fact remains, her story is over.

So, where do we go from here? Each player has to answer that question on their own. As long as there is an interest the website will remain.  I suspect the same goes from the thread and deviant art site. But honestly, I don’t know where we go from here. Femshep is many things to many people.  She is not simply one person or character; she is many characters to many people.  Each person will take their idea of femshep and go wherever they want to go. Whether they … we all go together or separately only time will tell.

For me, femShep is an Icon, not "just" a female character that is as legendary as Lara Croft.
She has a great voice-actress, and an amazing array of allies at her side, and that in my personal view makes her a lot more appealing than any female lead character before, a lot more appealing than any lead character in a game before, regardless of gender as well.

femShep and her companions will always hold a special place in my heart, a place no one can take from her :)

Also, I don't plan on going anywhere, I intend to stay with all the people i've met here ^_^

What you said above has been in my mind before ME3 was out, the direction on where we should head to as a group.

Like what you have said, we won and gained the recognition of femshep in ME marketing. Imo, there is more we could do starting from here. I love femshep not just for what she can do, but an icon or a role model for female protagonist. We could become the voice/group/driving force for the future female protagonist with positive characteristics like femshep.

It starts from here, right in this site. We show that not only male or female character can be the protagonist and players love her along with a great story. The more of discussion we could come on and the more attention we gather, the higher possibility we will see another great game with female main character in the future.

I understand this sounds impossible, but a person can dream for it, eh?

Mini Fic in coming prepare for wall of text.

Understanding
Theme: Affection Gundam 00 OST

Specailist  Traynor,

If you are reading this  letter, then I have returned to the place from whince I came.

Ashley and Garrus watched as Kyra came out of the hospital room, her fist clenched by here side, jaw set, down cast briming with tears. The commander tried to put her mask back on - to the hero that everyone demand her to be but that mask refused. Ashley reached to her  friend to offer some solace but  Kyra turned and marched out the hospital. The newest Spectre moved to  go after her but she stop by  Garrus who queitly shook his head...No.

When, you and Kyra  came to visit along with Garrus - I could see the budding bond between you two. Though some would be filled with an burning jealousy -  I was not.

Joker sat in the pilot chair as a list of the names, countless scrolled in front of him.  He  was looking, for any information even the worst about his family.  Across from him  EDI sat and watched  wanting to offer some kind of confront but yet how could she, when she herself could not understand what he feeling. Even dispite this she did reach out him, gentle taking his hand.

"Jeff..."
"I know but thanks." that was she needed  to hear, humans, organics were such strange creatures to her, full of some many contridictions. So incredibley strong yet so fragile.

I was filled with hope and  a sense of peace. For you see I knew,  I was not long for this world and my time was short. I knew that in the coming days  I would not be there for her ... fate can be at times a cruel mistress.

Liara rubbing her  the bridge of her  knose as she continued to pouring droves of data - shreaching for anything, any pieace of information that would give them a chance. She was looking for the one thing that she feared so many running out of  - hope.  A soft chime singled that some one was at her door, to her suprise it was Javik. The Prothean the last of his kind did not say a word  he simply stare at he behind a unreadible face. Though she new better, he was alone - his kind gone, his cycle over.  He was not only words she did not waste them with him, not anymore.   This time though he seemed to be reading her more than anything.

"Do not give up Asari, only then would the Reapers have won. If there is not a way, then make one."   he said taking a seat at the counsole  as they  coutinued to pour over  more data.

In dark times like these that is when we need others the most and it is my greatest fear that when she  needs someone...none would be there.  No one to be there to notices how she clencthes her fist when she is uncertian. How her  jaw tenses when she is nervous. How her eyes can be as cold as harshest winter when angered or as gentle as the evening tide.   How when she is embrassed she  bites her lower lip.  How when she is hurt - she put her mask back on while crying out for someone, anyone.  She is has carried so much on her own, that I fear she does not know how not to anymore. I fear that she has forgotten that she does not have to carry her burdens alone.

James  sat leaned back looking out into the emptiness of space,  Cortez had passed out on the couch  in the lounge again. This time , the large man did not have heart to wake up as over heard the pilot mumble his husband name his sleep.  Looking out  into space he prayed that his uncle was okay back on  Earth - he prayed that one day this nightmare would end.

You see  Specailist Traynor - she is so strong, so incrediablely strong  and has carried some much on her own.  She may have forgetten  she is not alone in this.. that her burdens are not her own.   She will not take my passing easily but she will not let herself reach out to anyone.. that  is not her way.

In the Far Rim of the Galaxy on a Quarian Dilopmat ship Tali went over the latest reports from the front.. looking over the list of names. The young admiral threw the data pad against the wall in a fit of  anger. It was all so pointless,  so senseless.  What sense did it make to fight for  the homeworld when there going to so few of them left to live on it.  She was nowt starting to see Admiral Koris point of view... the burden of some many lives on shoulders. How did he, the Admirals, and her father shoulder it? How did   Kyra shoulder  something so massive by themselves?

Yet, all you would have to do is look at her, not at   the commander but the women and you will see just as I did... something beautiful. You will see someone with some much strength, compassion, love and fear. Fear that to save everything she holds dear, she will  become  that which she fears and hates the most.  Do not let that happen  Specialist  Tranyor.. sometimes the silent screams are the loudest if one listens closely enough.

Samantha found herself at the  Kyra door  finding her  staring into a  Commander darkened quarters. There she  found  Kyra on the couch with a glass and nearly empty bottle on table.

"Leave.."   her voice  but a pain filled whisper.
"No." Samantha  replied sternly.   Kyra rose up from the couch, her hair usually pulled back in a tigh pony tail covering her eyes.
"That was an or-"  before she could finish - Samantha strode across the room, wrapping her arm around the large woman as tighly as she could.
"I know - you don't have to say it.  I understand... I'm here, I will always be here, right here."  She felt the  Kyra relax and start to tremble slightly.  ":You don't have to say anythning,  I hear  you."  Kyra dispite herself accepted the embrace as the flood gates holding back  her stored emotions opened.

For you see, some burdens are to great to put in to words, too heavy to spoken. Still, if we listen to those suffer the price of carring them. You can hear them calling out for someone, anyone...To simple understand, that they are just as scared and afraid  as the rest of us. So, Specialist Traynor please be there for her, be the ear that hears she silent screams, let her know that she is not and will never be alone in this  world, that someone will be there to always understand.

@Jamie

I would love to keep talking about FemShep, but at this time... I just can't. I used to love making new characters, coming up with stories for them and looking at other people's stuff as well. All that feels like it was yanked out from under me, which sucks to a point I can't describe. What really makes it hard is I feel I cannot talk about these things to anyone, as I'll be labeled a whiner/downer/hater, etc.

Keeping everything inside really hurts. Especially when you used to feel like you could talk about anything with a group of friends you really value. Now, I feel that is not so much the case. I would love more than anything to gush and praise, to be as excited as I was several months ago.

I love FemShep, I really do. She's an amazing character. Nothing will ever change that. I'm glad other people have the strength to keep a positive outlook. Maybe I'm too emotional, maybe I'm too sensitive... but, well... there it is. I just feel like my character deserved better.

Hi all...
I have a question, I've seen some custom femsheps using the face texture of the default FemShep...including the eyebrows...I was wondering, how can I get those textures?
I would like to make a redheaded femshep using the textures...
I hope someone can help me...

I don't really have a backstory for my canon, but I did sit down and write my reasons for choosing specific outcomes.

Posted Image

Earthborn: No parents. Easier to attribute lack of diplomatic skills to running around with a gang. No special attachments to Earth other than it being a symbol of humanity. Never been to London! ;)

Ruthless: Known as a Butcher of Torfan. Doesn't talk about it. Better to let her reputation preceed her and keep people wondering.

Renegade as dominant morality: Prefer this path because people get to the point faster and renegade has some really nice snarky/sarcastic lines. Prefer to explain consequences and let people decide to cooperate of their own accord (i.e. show the gun to Hock's face first rather than beat him up repeatedly) than take immediate interrupts. Situation varied.

Love interest: Kaidan. This turned out to be interesting to watch. In ME1, he was borderline "too nice" and I couldn't really see him putting up with Joan for the long haul, but he had his moments of speaking his mind, which I appreciated. He showed a real interest in getting to know Shepard so I went with it. I appreciated his character on Horizon when he stood his ground and stuck to his principles. Made perfect sense why he felt betrayed. The whole situaton was a big plot hammer, but the reaction still fit his character. I was impressed enough to stick with him for the trilogy. The relationship evolved to his paragon-ness being the perfect yin to her renegade yang. If that makes sense. =p A wonderful example of this is Shepard telling Kaidan in ME3 he's an evil distraction and him countering with no, he's here to help her relax or she wouldn't be able to focus. He was confident and knew her perfectly well. Yeah, I liked that. Rawr.

ME1 decisions: Completionist, did every quest, saved every resource that would be useful in the future (rachni queen, Kirrahe, etc).

Virmire: Sent Kaidan to the AA tower with the salarians because 1) he volunteered first 2) he worked well with others, especially aliens and 3) he knew wtf he was doing. Shepard was already en route to Kaidan and the team he was bunkered down with when Ashley took matters into her own hands. Shepard retrieved the crew while allowing Ashley follow through on setting off the bomb. She was proud of Ashley for making a hard choice.

Council: They died because Soveriegn was the bigger, more immediate threat. Council was useless the entire game so absolutely no regrets about their demise whatsoever. Political fallout be damned.

Picking who to lead the human council: "Don't care." Didn't want to deal with politics. Bigger problems ahead. Walked off at the end of ME1, credits rolled.

ME2 decisons:

Since the game was pretty much forcing me to pick between Anderson and Udina ANYWAY, I thought about it and decided that Udina would have been more aggressive in landing the position. Anderson would not have wanted it and would have likely step back. So I chose Udina, pretending that this happened without Shepard's input despite telling Miranda otherwise.

In regards to all loyalty missions, Joan allowed all squad members to resolve issues in their own way. Did not take any paragon interrupts. If they wanted to kill someone they knew in the process, then that was their business to resolve. Own your actions and all that. The two annoying missions were deciding what to do with Jacob's dad and Legion not making up his mind about the heretics. If Jacob wasn't ready to shoot his own dad on the island, then she wasn't gonna nudge him into something he could regret. Jacob was a very by-the-book guy so she had the Alliance pick his dad up instead. And what was to keep the heretics from being re-rewritten? Chose to destroy them instead because they were just machines and she didn't want to come back again.

Even though she wasn't best friends with everyone on her crew (this means you, Yeoman Chambers), she did pay attention to their issues and their combat strengths. (No deaths in the first game as a result of delegating assignments appropriately.) Skill acquired from being in a gang. Know who you're working with at all times.

ME3 decisions:

Genophange -- Wrex proved himself over the last two games and combined with Eve, they had strong leadership and a real potential to blaze a future for the krogans. Shepard revealed the genophange and took her losses with the salarians.

Geth & quarians -- Quarians were a constant thorn in her side. Legion's mission pretty much confirmed that quarians were pretty much inept. Decided that geth would be a better asset against the reapers. Peace was surprisingly achieved.

Shoot Udina or no? -- Hard to not take the renegade interrupt and shoot him myself, but I let the VS (both Kaidan and Ashley) pull the trigger. They were Spectres now. Needed to make hard choices and grow from it.

Conclusion -- Picked destroy. The goal all along was to wipe out the Reapers -- wasn't about to stop now. Geth and EDI were unfortunate collaterial damage. Had reservations about Joker + EDI romance, but allowed it to happen. Sorry, Joker. =/

Fun facts:
1. Not a natural blonde.
2. "Joan" sounded like "John." Wanted a more macho name than the default one.
3. Appearance and attitude are a homage to Duke Nukem. =D

@Aislinn
If only the group of people you are talking about are still hanging in the chat, in there you may have a place to vent it all out. I guess life has catch up on them and they need to take care of stuffs without a choice.

As far as I know, there are many in here who still really care of each other, when all those thought surfaces, come on out and reach them. They are willing to listen, don't hide into your corner, this isn't good for you at all.

I'm gonna have to transition from lurking to posting in this thread. I swear, the rest of the BSN is going to drive me insane...

I haven't posted in a while, and since my last post I have gotten a computer that can run Mass Effect, and I can make screenies! I also got to make a version of my Shep I like better than my original Xbox face, so enjoy the pics while I explain her backstory:

Posted Image

Skylar Shepard was born to Commander Sven Shepard and Lieutenant Hannah Shepard aboard the SSV Berlin. A child of military parents, she learned kindness and humility from her mother and tough fairness from her father. She grew up on starships, usually on whatever ship her father served on, until Hannah was stationed on the SSV Einstein. While Skylar was aboard the Einstein, she was fascinated by the fighter pilots, and they loved having her around and treated her like their own daughter. From then on, she decided she wanted to be a fighter pilot and serve on carriers.

After graduating from officer academy, she began flight training aboard the SSV Oppenheimer. A year and a half later, she was on a recon patrol in an uncharted system when she and her wingman were shot down over a pirate-controlled moon. For two weeks, she had to survive being hunted by the pirates with nothing but the clothes on her back and a sidearm. A rescue team lead by Staff Commander David Anderson recovered her from the moon, and Anderson was impressed by how well she had been able to use the terrain to her advantage to elude capture. He felt her skills would be useful to the marines, and offered to sponsor her entrance into the N7 program. At first, she turned him down, but upon return to the Oppenheimer, she realized her wingman didn't make it back, and she didn't take it well. The next day, she accepted Anderson's offer and transferred to the N7 program.

It wouldn't be long after becoming N7 that her skills would be put to the test: while on shore leave on Elysium, the colony was attacked. Skylar almost single-handedly held the collapsing lines, keeping the pirates at bay until the Agincourt arrived to provide assistance. After the Blitz, Anderson began grooming her to become humanity's first Spectre. She was the obvious choice for the XO position of the prototype SSV Normandy SR-1, and became the first human Spectre shortly thereafter.

All major decisions Skylar made were Paragon:

- Spared the rachni queen

- Helped the colonists on Feros

- Sent Kaidan to help the salarians on the AA tower on Virmire. Rescued him and the rest of Kirrahe's team while Ashley Williams died protecting the nuke.

- Told Anderson to get into Udina's computer to free the Normandy.

- Saved the Council during the Battle of the Citadel

- Selected Anderson as the first human Councilor

- Let Veetor go with the quarians

- Saved Kal'Reegar on Haestrom

- Didn't tell the quarian Admiralty Board about Tali's father's data

- Kept Legion and rewrote the Heretics

- Destroyed the Collector Base and told TIM to shove it

- Cured the genophage and made an alliance between the turians and the krogan

- Made peace between the geth and the quarians

- Destroyed the Reapers, not fully convinced the Catalyst was correct in his assessment it would destroy all synthetic life

Skylar fell for good boy Kaidan Alenko in ME1, but secretly fell in love with her pilot, Joker, in ME2. After getting up the courage to flirt with him, he rejected (to her chagrin) her in favor of a robot. Eventually, she forgave Kaidan and they continued their romance in ME3.

Wow. So awesome to see and read all these Shep profiles. Just, awesome. Okay, I've done this before, but, once more:

Posted Image

Kyrie Shepard

So, she's kind of a headcase. She's also a...

* Colonist/War Hero
* Adept (Bastion/Barrier, preference for SMGs and heavy pistols)
* Kaidan faithful
* Paragrade alignment
* BFFs are Kaidan/Garrus; Garrus and kind of Miranda; Garrus, Liara, and then Kaidan again

Um, yeah, that's all I can think of.

Okay, sorry, that's all I got. I spend so much time writing her entire life out in my fanfic, when I actually try and write one of these bio things, I just totally draw a blank. :pinched:

I totally forgot to mention that Skylar is an Infiltrator and is deadly with her sniper rifle...whether through the scope or from the hip.

Her favorite class of gun is the sniper rifle, though she also is skilled with the assault rifle and heavy pistol.

Favorite guns:

ME1: HMWSR Master X sniper rifle
ME2: M-6 Phalanx heavy pistol
ME3: Black Widow sniper rifle

Favorite offensive power: Incinerate
Favorite defensive power: Tactical Cloak
Bonus power: Energy Drain

Best friends: Joker, Garrus, Samara, and Thane

*sigh* this is...sad post :crying:, Jamie.
I know, I can't let any of my femSheps go. It's like ...loosing close friend.:crying:But I believe in this: as long, as we'll have our imagination, our fan art, her story won't be over. I think this is the least we can do - keep her and her story alive.
