Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, but I find myself a bit addicted to the multiplayer now. I actually completed a few Gold matches this past week and like a junkie, I anxiously await each Spectre package purchase. (I have the worst luck with what I get inside of those...)

Has anyone else also taken a break from the single player game? Think at one point I was experience story fatigue, or something close to it.

*multiplayer high five!*

I find multiplayer to be a welcome break from single player drama, in- and off-game. It's nice to just shoot things mindlessly 20 minutes at a time. And man is it challenging. Kudos to you for being brave enough to take on Gold matches; Silver is my limit at the moment.

But yeah, you could say I'm on a break of sorts. Nemain looks lovely. :)

For those of you paying closer attention, is there some facial structures/features which are further off than others? I don't know if I've just been using Alice's ME3 face for too long or what, but I haven't noticed quite the difference some of you guys are seeing (of course, I'm using a modded face texture, so there's that...)

Alice essentially looks the same...i.e. freaking gorgeous to me in both games:wub:...so i would say your lucky.

im sorry but are you blind? They look nothing alike, the facial structure, nose, mouth and eyes are completely different....the only thing that has carried over is the hairstyle....

@Tup3xi: I actually downloaded your converter a couple of weeks back. I was unable to get it to work, which might have something to do with my using a Mac.

@Lloedean: I have a lot of fun coming up with names and cool color combinations for my multiplayer characters. I don't really see multiplayer as having a real connection to the single player storyline so I would love to be able to use my own Shepard creations.....

@Nranola: Gold isn't so bad if you have a solid team to play on. I've played Silver for so long now and because I hyped up the difficulty jump in Gold I was pleasantly surprised to see that it certainly wasn't impossible.(Edit: Thanks for your comment btw. Really like your top post shot)

If anyone wants to hit me up on Xbox Live, my gamertag is Surly Sue. (When I'm truly surly and curse like a sailor my mic is off, so don't worry). Just send me a message before hand so I won't decline your request accidentally.

If someone is happy, let them be happy? It's their Shepard, they walk around with them ingame, they notice differences if anyone. You can hardly judge from two screenshots with differing lighting and a different angle. Not to say you're nessecarily wrong, but why would you point it out this way, potentially raining on someone's parade. Take that attitude elsewhere, please.

@TheMarshal
I think she's looks good and even though they made alot of changes in the faces in ME3, structure wise, she's very recognisable I would think. Nice one =)

It should work on MAC too assuming that you know hot to run jar package (in this case the generic swing version or the untested mac version from discussion board). I've tested it myself under windows and ubuntu, can't test mac and I have no idea what one needs to do there.

You show a blatant disregard for other people's feelings. If you want to function in this thread, be accepted, then that's not the way to go about it.
You ask us questions, we answer, we either get ignored, or you decide to take a jab at the thread as a whole or people in specific. You expect us to respond to you and do things for you when you take zero effort to fit in, when you seem to care nothing for the people in this thread or the effort they go through?
Your sense of entitlement is unhinged, absolutely unhinged.

I'm sure I'm the one that needs an attitude adjustment, yeah. I'm generally nice to people, I don't hurt people's feeling on purpose and if I do I apolagise. Then there's the part where I actually do alot for this community instead of demand they do stuff for me. Asmuch as I don't like to stick a plume up my own ass, you have no right to judge me, sorry.

Look, if you want to fit in, do something with this information. If you don't, that's your loss, not mine or ours and I'm sure we'd not lose any sleep over it. I am not against you, I am pointing this out for your benefit.

ok, back on topic...

is it me or is FemShep the ultimate female heroine?

We have had many strong female characters over the last 30 years, Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, Lara Croft etc, but none of them can stack up to Femshep...

She can:

1) Kick ass....punching reporters, headbutting krogan
2) Can shoot like a Navy SEAL
3) Can fling people around like a Jedi
4) Can freeze/burn people like Superman
5) Can seduce people like James Bond

Can anyone think of another leading lady that can top FemShep?

Reporting. Side stepping. Moving on.

I think the ME3 femshep 'likeness' to the previous games comes and goes for me. I think it's the animations that are tripping me up atm. Kyrie animated amazing in ME1: there was never a moment she didn't look like she'd been designed for the game, imo. ME2, she looks solidly good, but the animation at times didn't *quite* work. You can't tell it in screens, but I could at times when playing her.

ME3... ugh. Am making another attempt to get her 'right.'

@Tup3xi: Jar? Sounds like I have some Googling to do.

@Sage: I would like to see some more pictures of Kyrie in ME3. She doesn't look wrong to me but I'm not her custodian so I might not be as picky. As for the expressions, I feel the opposite. Overall, they look the most natural in this game. Maybe I just prefer some exaggeration and oddity over the wooden-like qualities of Shepard in the second game.

Case in point:

Also, I read your latest chapter and liked it a lot. I commented on it a few pages back but it was probably missed.

TY! I saw that, I just forgot to comment back.  ^_^ thanks.

I will totally post more of Kyrie once I get a solid second run going. (Post pics of FemShep? don't mind if i do!) I just keep running through the opening scene to a) check dialog for writing purposes and then B) raise my hands in exasperation that her eye is still clipping into her skull.

am trying to get a frapsed run. if i make another adept guide, i'm just vain enough for kyrie's sake that i want her to look halfway decent when showing the world her skillzors. :P

I guess I got lucky? I mean, there are some differences with my character Devi, but they were never jarring enough to pull me out of the game immersion for ME3. I easily accepted her face and she is still very recognizable to me. The only thing that throws me off when looking at the older pictures is the updated short hair cut and the appearance of makeup. I love the new hairstyle and I sometimes find it hard to believe that I loved the old one at one point too. Her makeup also looked more prominent in the second game, depending on lighting. It's more toned down in ME3. Thank god.

Some Nemain goodness:

Heh. I've been modding. So I think I'm finally able to jump back into the SP.

Also, your characters transferred *beautifully*!
There are some general differences, yes, but they seem more like updates than departures. They still look like the same people.

I agree. It's the same thing I was saying to Skald about Rhea. It's not so much about looking *exactly* the same, but retaining the essence that it's the same person you're looking at.

I think Teagan looks better re-made in ME3, myself.

Hey tup3xi, if you still have the conversion table (or equivalent) could it be made public? A javascript function might be enough to translate the facecode, that will assure cross platform compatibility without the need to install anything.

Yeah the clipping is hard to avoid with the frowns. If it makes you feel better, mine also clip, all three of them. It's just less apparent because I use custom eyeliner that darkens up that region, which makes it alot less glaring. It's not so bad once you get off the Citadel, anyways.

But i'll post you some clipping, you're not alone hehe.

I haven't really tweaked Hrist's face in ME3, other than changing the mouth shape, and adjusting the eyebrow colour. Most of the time I'm happy with how she looks, but in some situations she looks completely off. This tends to occur in the more expressive scenes.

Though I will say the change between ME2 and 3 is pretty drastic and very few Shepards seem to have come across looking exactly like their older versions, Still if people are happy with how their Shepard looks, and they can see past the changes, that's all that matters.

For comparison:

Image IPB

Image IPB

Not perfect but there's enough resemblance for me to look past it. I might try tweaking her in the CC one day though.

As for replaying the same Shepard through multiple times? I do, yes. I ran Hrist through ME1 at least 4 times and through ME2 maybe 5 or 6 times? Not sure, I can't remember. Major decisions tend to stay the same, though she had more rengaade options ad interrupts in her later playthroughs once I had figured out more of her history and personality. I haven't done a second playthrough of ME3 with her yet though and I don't think I will until the ending DLC is released.

@Ais: Nice work with the image, it looks great. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

@Sage: It would be nice to see more shots of Kyrie from ME3, though I can understand you wanting to get her face as close to her ME2 version as possible. I think she looks great in the shots you've posted, but then you're more familiar with her than anyone else and will notice when things are off.

Hmm... Well, maybe I won't get *quite* so obsessive about it. Still! Eye clipping! her dang lids EAT her brows from time to time. grrr...

But i do need to get going on this playthrough. lol. i get so obsessive about stuff.

doesn't help that in the CC, kyrie looks bizARRe. she looks totally washed out and weird in the CC, truly. i think that's maybe part of the reason people don't make as many blonde sheps? dunno. she doesn't look nearly as good or striking as someone with darker features.she really looks like this pasty white blob. so i can't tell what she's actually going to look like until i hit the game.

I'm in total agreement with you. Asche never transferred right in ME2 or 3 (even after the fix, the facecode was of that of a totally different face.) I had to rebuild her twice. It was the eyebrow color that got to me. It never seemed to match the blonde of her hair, and I am not a fan of blonde with dark eyebrows. It was frustrating!

@sage I know with Penny (my blonde shep) I couldn't use the lightest eyebrows.. her hair looked fine, but the eyebrows were way too pale in comparison even though the blonde hair on her head is the lightest shade.
Image IPB

I seem to be the odd one out with the hair in ME3 as well, because for the first time I actually like the majority of the hair. I also never liked the "sexy" hair style until ME3. I always thought it looked pretty oily, I gave it to Nora my last femshep and never warmed up to it in ME2.

A question, if I may?

Do people replay their Sheps, or only create new ones? If you do replay them, do they make different decisions?

Replay, mostly. I do have three Shepards besides my canon, but I think the furthest any of them has ever progressed is about halfway through ME1's storyline. Of the truly frightening amount of hours I have logged in ME1, most are Aki's, and I've very rarely changed her decisions even on runs I don't intend to import.

A lot of those hours are due to mechanics, actually - very first time through ME1, I believe you were actually blocked from progressing past 50 even if you completed everything, so I needed three runs to get up 60 with all the options I wanted to carry forward. And I cannot heap enough praise of the architects of Gibbed - another big chunk of those ME1 hours is because I'd get four or five hours into a game and then decide Aki's nose needed tweaking up or down a point.

Image IPB
No, that's it! We are done tweaking! I am not doing Feros and the plant zombie goo again!

ME2 I've only actually played in entirety twice, and ME3 once so far, because appearance was settled (I'm one of the fortunate people who found that Aki looked like herself-but-improved in 3) and I never seemed to be blocked from the dialogue options I wanted. I 'spect that's a white-knight-Paragon thing though, paragade/renegon morality Shepards seem to have a much harder time with those.

In ME3, still loving the pistol...
