Maybe one day I'll play ME3 again and get more screen shots when... you know... I don't want to vomit blood every time I think about it.

...wow. I think I'll skip my current queue of ME2 runs and go send Riza ["Gee.... thanks."] through just to see what you're talking about.

I hope she is a Kaidan/Garrus/Liara/Forever Alone Shepard, well... its not MUCH better...

No, it's not. You'll still want to vomit blood, even with those LIs. And possibly club baby seals, and stab kittens and pluck the whiskers off of bunnies and play bowling with little chicks and maybe even kick babies.

.....
*starts Civ4* ["Good idea..."] *raging barbarian hordes* ["Sounds less painful..."] *Montezuma as neighbor* ["Much less painful...."]

:o
Edit: Got ToP, so Riza at a console.

@Syrdeth: Not quite at that point, but yes the "Geth Matrix of Leadership" idea has occurred to me as well.
@meonlyred: Could also be interpreted as "Who? Me?"

:D

@Neeh: Awesome.

I really hate the dress Femsheps are given..then it's made 16 times worse when Brosheps get the awesomeness that is the leather jacket outfit. It even has jeans! So I've scrambled this together, in an attempt to show off what could've been :))

Hope you like it ;o

That looks awesome and very comfortable. I would have loved a leather jacket outfit for femshep. I agree that the dress in ME3 was terrible and wish they would have made a graphics update the kasumi ME2 dress that at least had attitude and fit femsheps form well. I don't really know how to describe it but I suppose the ME3 swimsuit dress makes her look older.

I used the dress a lot actually.

Well Shepard does actually mature in the 14 months after her ressurection. in 2 she's rebuilt as a 29 year old woman so she's rpetty much 29 for 2 years. your body grows and changes with time and Shepard gets a chance to grow. I like that and use that as an RP reasno to tweek/updte my Shepard's into ME3's CC.

I understand what you're saying and I also appreciated how the characters aged in appearance. I think the Illusive Man stuck out the most with the dark lines around his mouth and then there were Mordin's close up shots that made it apparent he had loose/wrinkled skin and I think a whiter face than in ME2. What I'm trying to say is when I put the dress on a femshep they suddenly age ten years and it makes them look more tired. I'm not all that into fashion technique but I bet someone who is could point out just what drags the features down.

I think everyone would like FemShep to have the jacket and jeans combination. It fits her perceived personality better than the dress does. I mean, I can't really see mine wearing something like that all the time. She cleans up nicely for special events, but doesn't see herself as the girly living decoration.

I agree; while i think the dress is awesome to break the routine, jacket and jeans are casual clothing by definition.

@raziel1980: I think you've spoken for all of us: cautious optimism. I kinda put everything related to ME3 on hold. I'm really looking forward to a definite patch(that will hopefully fix import problems for good) and a satisfying conclusion to this great trilogy.

Agreeing also. Some femsheps are comfortable in a dress and others in army fatigues or colony clothes. It really just depends on the shep you are playing and your own preference.

Definately.  Its probably been said but I wish they gave the jacket and jeans to both genders and given broshep some kind of formal wear to go along with the femshep dress.

Well the Jacket doesn't fit EVERY Shepard's personality. I have a "girly" blonde Shepard Angela and he's pretty much in the dress all the time if I don't put her in the hoodie because I luff it. She wore both dresses in teh second and third games.

I was actually quite content with the n7 hoodie. Now given the option, I would put my Femshep in a shirt similar to Vega's (but black instead) a pair of bell bottoms and heeled black cowboy boots. That would make me one happy gamer.

It would be nice to have every(most) piece of human, asari or batarian clothing appearing in the game, available in Shepard's locker; including past armors(ME1). I know i would be running around in the N7 Onyx X - although i understand reservations because of its iconic status. But Legion get to wear a piece of it...

Bell bottoms and cowboy boots? Does not compute. But I would have loved a pair of boots in the game...though they wouldn't be very practical on the metal floors of the citadel. Shep would probably be sliding in them and spending more time on her aft than getting to her destination.

I really liked the N7 hoodie too and wore it the most for the casual outfit. It definitely broke up the old army fatigues I was so used to using. I'm surprised they didn't recycle the styles of NPCs for clothing.

Given a perfect series of options, Esperanza would be in a female version of Vega's tanktop or the Bioware store N7 one, with jeans and hiking boots. And her dogtags on.

Ok, I spent nearly all day today fixing Maria's face. She had some eyelid clipping. Not as extreme as some others, but it was still there. I wasn't skilled enough with Gibbed to attempt to fix it, so I didn't bother.

But, Ottemis was kind and patient enough to talk me through what I needed to do with Gibbed and I fixed the clipping. She looks much, much better now. And, even better, Ottemis made me a face texture for her. She's got freckles!

It was really, really hard to pare down to just 5 screenshots. This is the final version of her face. I don't plan to do any more tweaking. Also, since Kendra uses the same face, I can fix her clipping, as well. I just won't use the face texture with her to make them look even more distinct.

Image IPB

Oh yeah, using Ottemis' green casual outfit, too.

Thanks, Ottemis!

I may not have initially designed her face, but with all the tweaking I've done, both with Gibbed and simple stuff like giving her red hair, green eyes, lighter skin, etc, I can probably claim her as mine, right? Or is that stretching?

She does still have some minor flaws, but they are just that: minor. No major glaring issues that bothered me like the clipping. Plus they give her character, make her seem more real and not like some model.

Now I only need one more thing. The willpower to play her through ME3.

I dug up one of my 3 canon sheps that I haven't played in a while. I'll be importing her to ME3 after I finish her plus run through.

Name: Zora

Mentality: Paragade

class: Engineer

History: Colonist/sole survivor

Relationship(s): Kaidan/Thane

I agree; while i think the dress is awesome to break the routine, jacket and jeans are casual clothing by definition.

My issues with the dress are thusly:

1) The Kasumi dress was WAY better.  It is hot, yet classy. Kasumi clearly picks it out knowing that Shepard needs to look hot, yet also tough. She's playing at being a merc band badass dressed up for a party, and the dress looks the part. When Shepard wears the Kasumi dress, she looks like she is completely ready to kick a** and take names while in heels. It's just pure sexy/hot/feminine/tough all at once. Totally awesome dress.

2) The N7 dress is a knockoff. It's totally just a retexture, which makes it feel LAZY, like they gave male shep a new awesome for the CE and then just hashed out something lame for femshep. it annoys me for that very reason. It's totally Chobot's dress, not Shep's. It's feels like Shep and Allers shopped at the same store.

3) The N7 dress is trashy, frankly. While I have no real issue with Allers, her dress speaks of, 'I'm trying to look hot on camera- that's it. It doesn't have the same toughness that the kasumi dress did, mostly because the body model is skinnier and it has that AWFUL zipper up the butt which just looks so trashy, imo. just this invitation, like 'unzip here! i have no pride.' :? Kasumi dress? awesome and slightly aloof. N7dress? blatant invitation. plus it makes her hips look huge, just, disproportionate, ugh. I do not like it

if they had to do a dress, i wish they'd brought back the kasumi one, frankly.

Kasumi's dress IS second to none.
There's always something off while approaching the game from a femshep standpoint: whether it's about haircuts, outfits or romance, i always feel a disconnect between femshep players and the game(makers). The stuff that we want is always present within the game, but only made available to maleshep or NPCs. There's a vision of what femshep should appear like that i just don't get. I do think that a lot of thought is put into her - making her a strong female icon without the sexual baggage(or maybe the fans have something to do with it) - but it just doesn't necessarily translate into what we want and it is often frustrating.

It's true.

There are moments that are pure excellence, where there's an extra level of detail for FemShep that shows the writers were taking care to make something special for the female commander. FemShep's conversation with Eve, the Krogan female, is pretty much amazing. It's just these two strong women talking about what it is to be a leader in different societies that have different views of women's roles. Just lovely writing there. And things like Kasumi's dress - a moment to have shep be tough and yet in more traditionally female clothing - also win.

And frankly, femshep often gains from the neglect. The fact that they don't bother to change stuff up for her (she can get beat up by OR beat on James as much as maleshep can, etc.) really makes her tough. It's about what she does, not her plumbing, that makes her amazing.

Aaaaand then there are things that just feel like... *record scratch* Wha...?

There are these odd moments when suddenly she's forced into 'woman things' - like the initiation of the Jacob romance, or the way she walks in ME3 - OR she's left with these weirdly manly things - like the way she walks in ME2, or the way she's hit on by women and asari all over the place but so few males seem to be interested in her, or the way she sits when talking to garrus. And then you kind of realize that the game was made with Sheploo in mind and femshep is treated as a translation, and wacky translation at times at that.

Granted, I prefer the translation, but you're right, sometimes it really shows. And that N7 dress is one of those translation moments that I find particularily jarring.
