I save the Council for military reasons, actually, not mercy.
Vigil tells you the first thing the Reapers did was take out the Prothean government. so I save them, straight out. maintain leadership in crisis and all that. it's sort of the 'save the queen' mentality that i think befits a soldier.
All of my Shepards do that, every time. I stopped short of sucking the galaxy dry of every available mineral in ME2, but the basic principle of doing everything there is to do persists in pretty much every game I play. At least I'm not playing Skyrim anymore, I suppose.I also have a question for you all. Do you have a Shepard that you've completed everything with? And I mean like everything as in found all the minerals/Asari writings/DLCs/reached level 60 in Mass Effect 1 and scanned all planets done all side quests, etc in Mass Effect 2?
I'm hoping I'm not alone in my crazy hermit playstyle.

This is exactly what I thought when I was at the end. Also, for less noble reasons, because I didn't want the awesome Turian shopkeeper to hate me...

I have a Kallen Playthrough like that. She's done every side quest, found all the planets, got all the scientific upgrades, all the weapons, all the everything. 100% galaxy exploration, 100% completion no one left behind and everything.Vovea wrote...

I do every single side mission. Planet scanning and Asari writing not so much.

Because Shepard is playing a role. She is acting, being undercover. Who would think the chick in the hot black leather dress would pull out a gun murder lots of dudes.Amieera wrote...
Ugh, that pic reminded me of one thing, I mean I like your shepard, but am I the only one who hates that dress? How come just because shes a woman she has to wear a dress for that mission? There should be a choice.
Lol, true. But then it stays with you after. Rather have it just for that mission.meonlyred wrote...

Plus dudeshep would look kind of weird in a dress too.

That dress is the "only" one available in the game. While it's not my favorite i like the fact that it offers a brake from the routine.Amieera wrote...

The only side mission that don't register as completed - depending on how you choose to resolve it - is the Salarian Ish task; also why it's one of my least favorite...

Yes, I also like the dress because it's different from all the other stuff Shep's in her wardrobe. The short skirt only is a little bit strange when FemShep is sitting on her bed or when talking to Garrus:O. A long skirt would be better (or another sitting position:P).SaturnRing wrote...

Kallien? Kalli is Finnish family name by the way. I don't think that names change much in that time. People start using old, over 100 years old names now. Naming conventions go in weird cycles. I just prefer short no nonsense names. That's why my Shepard is Tiia.Amieera wrote...
Hmm, am I the only one who made up a cool future name for my Shepard? I'm just noticing that.
Also, any one else amazed at the armor development in the 2 years between ME and ME2? Went from looking like a rubber wet suit, to real armor.
I figured it was strapped to her thigh. It's covered and not all that far from where she'd keep her sidearm anyway.sagequeen wrote...
I do wonder where she stashed that pistol, though.
