Verly wrote...sorry I've been MIA I've been playing my full blooded sith warrior in SWTOR. that game is like crack or something. it might have something to do with malavi quinn as well. but anyway I saw a question about femshep names:Penny's name came from a save I got from that save database. That was before I bought mass effect 1 and I wanted all the extras. once I bought ME1 I remade Penny and the version that I finished ME3 with was my third and final version of her. Quinn is my redheaded shep. and I'm not really sure why I named her that. I seem to always make a rpg character named Quinn that's a red head. It might have to do with Daria's sister (from the cartoon)...but i've never made her a clothes obsessed air head so idk. lolNora was named after one of my favorite romance authors although she's full renegade and don't match people in any of her books (well, maybe some of her evil bad guys). I just like the name Roslyn and thought it fit the characterOctavia was named after the roman emperor. Xiu was a named I searched for and found in a baby name database. I wanted a interesting Asian name and I wanted it to be an authentic name and not something I just made up.

I too have been playing SWTOR quite a lot lately. I am kinda waiting for new SP content. I'll also make small trip to Austria (early wake up tomorrow) so I won't be around for about five days unless I find free wlan. Weather reports are not too optimistic but I will not let that ruin it.

Opera Mobile messes formating pretty badly apparently...

I'm playing Batman Arkham city again because I got the Game of the year edition and I can't help but think Bruce Wayne is a distant relative of Comander Shepard, like his/her great great great graandfather or something. I could see some shepard's being vigilante's after the war in a perfect ending.

So I was looking through my screencap folder and I found this:

Posted Image

... and it got me thinking. To me, this is a pretty perfect shot, one of the few in the game that's actually in-character for Jakarta. ME3 paints Shepard, regardless of the player's opinion on the subject, as slowly breaking under pressure and going all PTSD and having traumatic guilt-stricken nightmares about some random kid with implausible dialog. Which is so backward; Jakarta was on the edge of a mental breakdown the whole way through ME2, because of the stress and guilt of working for Cerberus, but in ME3... well, check out the screencap. Yeah, war is horrible, Earth is falling, she couldn't save Thessia, whatever. She's back with the Alliance, she's got Ash and Garrus at her side, she's got a weapon, she's got aliens signing on in droves, she's ending the genophage and the geth-quarian war, this is a great time for her! She is absolutely sure she's going to win and the Reapers are doomed, just as much as she was after the setbacks on Eden Prime and Virmire. She wouldn't be bopping around like it was her birthday or anything, but she would be content that the job was getting done and she was in the right place with the right people doing the right thing again, finally.

But it seems like a lot of people are pretty happy with the general worn-down-soldier aspects of the plot, even if most aren't thrilled about the dreams specifically. So I thought I'd ask what the thread thought about it; is your Shep's reaction to Earth/Thessia/the dreams/the last push to the London conduit pretty close to what we got in the game, or would her reaction be a little further afield?

Well, I took advantage of the sale Origin was having over the weekend and picked up both ME1 and 2 (now I finally have all 3 on the same system). I figure Nika's life is probably flashing before her eyes as she lies in the rubble waiting for the EC, so I might as well play it!

Here's the first screenshot. I made a custom face texture from ME3 Devon (the ME1 version wasn't working for me). Next I'll be modding the hair... maybe "sexy"?

I liked the dreams in a way, mostly the whisperings of dead squad mates. It fit chillingly with Vanessa who was haunted(Edit: more so, driven,) by Mordin's death and regretted not saving Samara and her last living daughter. I RP'ed Shepard wasn't fast enough to stop Samara from shooting herself and Vanessa shot the daughter as a mercy killing. Shep figured the daughter would either be killed by remaining husks, turn into one herself, or fall into depression from being all alone without anyone to check up on her and become a danger to herself and others. Though a Renegon, Vanessa would have let the daughter live if she could had stopped Samara in time.

Her reactions and progression of tiredness follow pretty close to the story line(Edit: Mostly I could tell her mental state by the the severity of her scarring. In lighter times such as going on a date with Garrus her scarring actually disappeared a bit then severely deepened after thessia), except instead of being tired fighting the reapers or losing worlds, it was mostly the personal deaths that weighed the heaviest on her mind and dictated her attitude towards a lot of decisions. One being the choice to either acquire volus bombers or save a turian colony. Vanessa decided to save the turian colony because 1) she felt she owed Garrus, her bond mate, to give her all to save his planet and family 2) She was willing to sacrifice just about anything to protect and strengthen the krogan and turian alliance Mordin had made possible.

The only thing that didn't make sense for my shep was starbrat. She had a ruthless/Earth born background and never brooded over random innocents she was unable to save and cared even less for mercenaries or total morons.

(Vanessa) 3rd time to show off this pic but it's still my favorite and fits her feelings towards the squad deaths - not starbrat's.

If stress and overworking could kill it might look like this. (snapshot during Miranda's mission)
(Edit...again: Curiously, at the very end of the game her scarring was probably the lightest it had been all game...I suppose she was satisfied to finally be knocking at the reaper's back door. I'll try to dig up a comparison)

Played some of Ellie's game today so..mini photo dump.

Found an image. Yep, the scarring is definitely less than any other time except at the very beginning of ME3. I also tried to incorporate how teammate deaths were a strong driving force for my shep in my amateur videos- not sure how well it came across.

@thompsmt
I know, right? I always heard about the Nhilus look-alike but could never find him, until now, so I had to take a picture.

Nothing has seemed real to Asche since she woke up in that Cerberus lab in the beginning of ME2. Asche is a child of space. She was born in space and she fully expected to die in space. And she did. She died.

She still can't wrap her head around why she's alive. That she was given a purpose -- stopping the Collectors, stopping the Reapers and all the tasks that were necessary to do those things, kept her sane, got her reunited with the loves of her life (who also keeps her sane).

That she has terrible dreams make sense to me. They aren't necessarily of a small child  she met briefly in Vancouver, but he last civilian she interacted with on earth was that kid. Of course watching him die is going to affect her. It's just another drop in an already full bucket. Dealing with death and reincarnation, dealing with being basically Cassandra in space, and then being ordered to fix EVERYTHING, takes a toll.

"I told your father I'd make a terrible mother"
Posted Image

She's heart sore and mentally weary by Thessia, but even then, faced with defeat, she doesn't blame herself. Thessia was just a big slap in the face by the Asari. The Asari are the only ones to blame for the fall of Thessia. The only ones to blame for the rise of Banshees. Thessia was the final clue to humanity's place in the galaxy. My head cannon differs vastly to how Shepard was portray in the game at that particular point.

Asche didn't feel the war was going well at all, though. She knew what the Reapers were, what they did. There wasn't any real hope the Crucible would be finished before they were discovered (most of the galaxy was fast and loose about the project for goodness sake!). There wasn't any real hope for Earth or her colonies. One only had to look at the Batarians to lose hope. But Asche was stubborn and she was alive despite the impossible. You fight or you die. And  the only way to win that war was with dead Reapers.

This is very long and convoluted and probably doesn't answer the question well. Sorry about that. :)

After Akuze, Mindoir, and being resurrected by Cerberus, Anja has severe survivor's guilt by this point. And yeah, it was less about that specific boy, and more about all the civilians in general that she couldn't save. To her, saving civilians is a top priority and the driving force behind most of her decisions, and everything she does. That's why she joined the Alliance in the first place. There's never an "acceptable" amount of civilian casualties, as far as she's concerned. So, I found it plausible that that boy would haunt her. Along with the ghosts of those she knew better: Ashley, Thane, Mordin, etc.

She took Thessia very hard as well. I actually loved how the game showed it all starting to really weigh on her.

I'm really looking forward to Naomi's playthrough... as a Renegade, I feel like it'll be interesting to see how all the choices she's made start to affect her -- all the times she played it fast and loose, all the times she was willing to get things done at any cost, all things she sacrificed, etc. Hopefully it'll all be worth it in the end (the EC will determine this, I guess, hah).

I can only speak for Kendra, since she's the only one I took through ME3 so far.

When I was playing, I kept getting this sense that every decision she was making was weighing on her. And the more she had to decide, the more weight she took on. So, yes, I think the wear-down aspect was appropriate for her. That's why the "Why me" scene with Hackett was just so perfect, to me.

Here's my video of it if you are interested. And yes, she is full Renegade. Been that way since ME1.

The Tuchanka mission. She was basically given an utlimatum by the Dalatrass. Cure the Genophage and there is no Salarian support. She didn't like being pushed into that corner, but felt she had no choice. And every time someone asked her if she was okay during that mission, she clammed up and said something about Earth. But, I could get the sense that it was really bothering her.

So, we get to the end and Mordin, smart guy that he is, figures it all out. But, she was able to convince him to not do the cure and sent him to work on the Crucible. But, she felt that eventually there would be a price to pay for not doing the cure. She just hoped it wouldn't come to a head before the Reapers were defeated. Fortunately, Wreav never figured it out.

Then there was Rannoch. And she surprised even herself by brokering peace between the Quarians and the Geth. All she had to do was yell at the Quarians to get them to stand down.

Posted Image

She actually felt better about herself after that. Until... Thessia. And then she was back down again. Further than before. After she delt with being depressed, she was pissed off. And wanted to take it out on someone. Cerberus happened to be available for that outlet. And, during the talk with TIM on Cronos base, she vented all her anger at him. And again at him on the Citadel.

So, I guess what I'm saying in a long-winded way, is that yes, I felt that story-wise, as far as my Shepard goes, the worn-down aspect felt appropriate for her.

As for the scars, at first I thought they vanished during the Citadel parts, but playing through it again with fraps to get screenshots and such, I saw that they are still there, they are just muted somewhat. For whatever reason.

And here's my shot of Shepard with Anderson.

Ugh, killing Wrex is the main thing I'm dreading on my Renegade playthrough. Although I guess the trade-off is that Mordin can live.

A new FemShep for a new Narrative ME3 game, Xamantha Shepard:
Posted Image

Adept, Spacer, War Hero, Numerous loss (VS=Kaiden), Paragon

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

Xamantha (like Samantha) is my first time playing a biotic Shepard in Mass Effect so her play style is completely new to me. Took me a little while to figure out the best way for her to deal with Guardians biotically (although she has managed to 'mail slot' a couple): basically use Throw on them, which wrenches their shields to the side, then take them down with SMG Incendiary Ammo.

Posted Image

To accentuate Xamatha's Adept nature I took a leaf out of the Ziggy Stardust Book of Weirdness and shaved her eyebrows off; I also gave her the lightest (whitest) pupils I could. In an ideal world Xamantha would be completely hairless but as there's no '100% bald' option in the CC I went with 'blue rinse' stubble instead (I think if she grew her hair out it would actually be white).

I'm not sure yet who Xamantha's LI might be, except it won't be Liara (already explored that with Jennifer); I'm thinking she might find herself attracted to Specialist Traynor (oh, just realised, she's a Samantha as well, isn't she? :pinched:) but Xamantha is one of life's natural flirts so she might surprise herself. :D

Huzzahhh, ME1.

The sexy hair is badly jagged.

Upside, ME1 hair is easy to edit because it uses a mask.

Warning, weirdness may ensue trying to figure out where all the strands lay:
