Yeah, I wasn't using any texmods for my first two Sheps who ran through ME3...but now I just can't play without it:devil:

And on that note
@Ottemis: Your armor texture looks already really good:wub:

Question: Why does your Shepard looks the way she looks? Did you model her after someone, had a clear vision or just put things together to see how it looks?

The ones I mentioned were based off of a character from another work (Elf, Abigail, Edward, Riza) so I tried to match them as well as I could, though two are anime characters and another is a webcomic character so I had to make a decision on things like the nose since they didn't have a detailed nose like that. Another was based off a character from a novel so all I had was a basic description (black hair, grey eyes and attractive) so I went with that.

Kelly and Kylie are "original" or "adjusted til they looked okay" and made with red hair because... I like redheads.

;)

(Flying to St. Louis at the moment. Airlines w/wireless hotspots. I'm getting old.)

curious. i've heard a bit about folks using another face mask to make shep 'shinier' and deal with the complexion 3 issues in me3. but i tried this fix (i 'think') in gibbed, and all i did was replace complexion 3 with complexion 1, which wasn't what i was going for. anyone know what i'm talking about?

it's just that if you look from game 2 to 3 the complexion did change pretty significantly, and i'm not talking the renegade scarring.

Nah...I don't usually model my femsheps after anyone... I just try and make them look as good as they possibly can. :)

Here is a pic of my current ME 2 character Amelia...who will have the majority of my focus now...

And this one of my next ME 3 character Denise - I know you like her alot Jane, so stay tuned..though I will say i will be starting her game from over again from earth...so I can do some more gibb tweaking on her. :)

^_^ Thx CrazyGreggy, JamieCOTC and raziel1980
And Jamie = UJ is worth every minute you work on her :happy:

@Ottemis I hope this colored armor is available  as mod ? :wizard: :o

@ELE Oh yes I remember this sidequest very well. It was a emotional breakdown for Chiara inside. She handled it like your Shep in the Vid - but from this very moment she changed from a pure Renegade  towards a Renegon. She was remembered that all had could be at an end - or very worse.

@razviolet  Weeee - more flycam explosions :wub:

@raziel1980 So you put Gabby now on hold 'til the DLC is coming out ?

@sagequeen Oh my - I was reading in office your new chapter. Very well written . I loved the describe of TIM as Shep shooted Dr. Eva- and the end for sure .. I saw a cinematic scene = Kyrie is going out of the room and the camera is zooming to Kaidan's hand ...<3 awesome

@krayzi and the others ... YEP - I wasn't using TexMod before I joined this thread. Now I can't imagine to play without :P
And I really need to figure out how to get this default hairstyle to work on a custom Shep :happy:

We had this question not long ago and I answered with a Mega Post *lol*
This time I avoid this ...
My steps mostly like this - Background, fitting name to that and then a face I like to the name and Background.
Like Sazuka - Asian Design and inspired from Hadeekak's Yoshimi

Well...like Selena, Gianna, and my femsheps once they get past cronos station.... Yes. :D The only who I played the game all the through was my Paragade canon and favorite femshep of all... Allison.

The only femshep who probadly won't see  EC is Alicia...since she was my thane-mancer.

Thanks... I liked that armor setup for her...and most of my other femsheps...because I tend to play them as power based characters in how I level their powers up so their armor I feel needs to reflect weapon damage...and power recharge for the most part...though I do wear the serrice counsil/aegis plate sometimes since that armor is awesome...I just don't like how the secondary color now shows on the stomach area. I also wear the Hahne Kadar arms mostly...but she needed a better recharge rate carrying both the black widow AND the saber around :devil:, so I decided to use the Kestrel/rosenkraus arm pieces. The head/ear piece is a modded armor which you can only get through a modded c.bin file on the pc version I'm using.

Taken from this blog:

HED_SPwr_Scalar: 10.4093 - Increases skin glow more like ME2. My starting value was 2.5. 10 is a bit high here, so experiment with values in between. I've settled on 5 for my current version.

If that's what you mean?

@krayzi , LadyAly: Mod will be available as soon as I've finished it, I saw yesterday there's yet another N7 highrez mod out there, but I'll stubbornly finish this one; if only because mine should have a lighter load then both of the others. Plus with countless hours stuck in it would be a shame to stop now =)

I'll drop a line here when it's done and available ofc.

So much truth in 7 words and a smilie. I couldn't be bothered with my original sheps, although speaking to ELE has made me realise this was due to horrendous imports rather than anything else. With Kira, running without the improved textures is unthinkable. I always run SP through texmod with HD eyes, lashes, skin and hair textures. Last night I modded my coalesced.bin for flycam and aipex's birthday suit mod (seriously, underwear in the romance scene begone!). Expect flycam bombs of Kira from Rannoch onward :D

Anybody point me to a link to instructions on what exactly to edit in the coalesced.bin file to get aipex's mod working? For *cough* testing purposes. :whistle:

I didn't model mine after anyone in particular, I just went with certain traits I liked, such as the black hair and green eyes. I wanted something that just fit the setting but offered some uniqueness. Initially I was going for a darker skintone as well, but I ended up choosing freckles as the defining feature by way of ELE's Devon Texmod.

How about switching the secondary colour to match the primary one and use a pattern? That works best for me most of the time. As for the armor setup... well, my Shepards are usually weapon nuts and use powers mostly as support so I find Hahne-Kedar to usually be the best option, mixed up with Armax Arsenal equipment for both headshot damage and extra ammo.

Hear, hear! It started in ME2, when I found out how to use that normally unavailable "sexy" hairstyle on a costum femshep. A real shame you can't import it into ME3. I did expect it, seeing as how relatively popular it was, but alas...

The default femshep hairstyle (from the artwork) is a worthy replacement, though. As how to get it to work... it's mostly just replacing a few textures in Gibbed, but it has the tendency to clip with the shape of a costum femsheps head. You can fix that with adjusting a few numbers. Tedious work, but worth it, I think.

This thread has more information on how to get it working: http://social.biowar...index/9996307/1

Actually, I don't put any thought in the looks of my Sheps (at first). I just take the sliders and look at the results. If I like them, I maybe tweak it a bit but that's it. (only speaking about the CC now)

For example: I did Alex in less than 5 minutes because I just took all sliders to the right side and started to move them towards the middle.
I did almost the same thing with Dawn.

@LadyAly: And that offer still stands=]

Yeah I know what you mean I wanted to use a scar on my maleshep but keep the renegade scarring so I had to find something else. It's also funny (to me at least XP) that you mention the voice thing. One of the reasons I avoided femshep was I felt indifferent about the voice acting...Which is so wtf for me cuz I thought Jhale was awesome as Naomi Hunter, Jean Grey/Phoenix and Avatar Kyoshi. I'm weird I know...

My current femshep playthrough actually made me like Garrus as well...I didn't like his "bro" role as maleshep it annoyed me so much so I ignored him for the most part. But as a LI he's so dorky adorable. Brother and sister with team dextro it just makes sense! ;p

Also thank you everyone who commented on my Shep! Sadly mods made it easier for me I was so horrible at making a decent looking femshep heh. All your femsheps secretly made me jealous.

I'll admit Hale's voice was strange at first but over time it grew on me. I suppose it was odd because she has a deeper voice. Sheploo, his voice just sounds stuffed up like he's having a bad day of allergies and seems really flat in his delivery. Granted, some people really sound like that. I'm not sure why but it threw me off. We all have our quirks:P.

I've never heard anyone say Garrus' bro role has bothered them. What part of it annoyed you? Was it that he would seem to butt in at times he wasn't wanted from your perspective? If you role play heavily, was it because certain sheps didn't feel Garrus was their 'bro'?

@raz
No more Gabby? *gasp* She will be missed. I know what you mean by not going further than the Cerberus station until EC. I'm in the same boat. Vanessa is still the only shep who has completed the game...other than Isabella who was deleted. I'm still banging my head against a wall for that one.

@sage
Glad to see chapter updates! I would read it but I've never been able to go further than a few chapters in a fic that writes from Shep's point of view. Most ME fics I read are completely OC or deal with side characters not on the Normandy. Or the rare Nhilus fics...

@Rikketik
Oh, maybe you can take a pic of her on the TV screen with a camera? I don't think anyone would mind if the pic wasn't in HD.

@Krayzi
Thanks for the walkthrough, it doesn't sound too bad. I'll mess with it a bit today. I'm not used to playing with files or codings but lately I've been googling the heck out of this stuff and self teaching, slowly. figuring out how to use flycam was filled with lots of 'derp' moments until I smacked myself when I found out how easy it was.

Tup3xi...
Question: Why does your Shepard looks the way she looks? Did you model
her after someone, had a clear vision or just put things together to see

Well, Isabella/Cora was designed to look like me and was originally my SI. Isabella changed into a paragon after I figured out I was too indecisive and was punished for it by losing special conversation choices. This was when, for example, I had no idea what Rachni were and had no idea where my stance was on them so I was largely neutral in conversations, mostly just listening to other character's opinions. Cora will be different because I now have strong opinions throughout the ME universe.

Isabella left, Cora right.
Posted Image

Vanessa exists just because she does. She's not modeled after anyone. I was trying to create a shep that was completely different from anything I had played before and gave her polar opposite colored hair and eyes from what I was used to.
Posted Image

Any other sheps I have created are just shaped until I'm satisfied with the way they look.

For the default femshep hair clipping I used ELE08's page...http://social.bioware.com/362/blog/211693/

BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Hair_PROShepard.HMF_HIR_PROShepard_MDL

biog_hmf_hir_pro.Global.HAIR_Long_Diff

Be sure there are no spaces in front of the BIOG. I did that once and wound up with a green faced/neck shepard. And once I placed the HAIR_Diff in the wrong slot...that was.... interesting.

Along with the X/Y changes given in the link for LOD0Verticies I found the extra X values from ELE to also be useful. Fixes upper/forward left bald spot.
415 = 4,9
416 = 5,2
417 = 4,7
418 = 2,7
419 = 1,7
420 = 3,9

Then I had issues with clipping on the upper right side of her head where shep had a big bald spot too. The X values below fixed that one. I found this set on a random forum but I can't remember where. Clipping is more noticible with darker hair types so I had to get it fixed.

362= 4,6
363 = 4,6
364 = 5,5
365 = 3,7
366 = 3,1
367 = 3
368 = 3,8

I hope that helps. I can't take credit for any of the work and I had a lot of weird bloopers from entering the numbers in the wrong place. It's tedious and I had to walk away a few times before I popped a vein.

Edit: the commas "," between numbers need to be converted into periods "." when entered...for anyone who was just as confused or coding illiterate as me:whistle:.

Edit: I know how you feel. I still can't get Ashley or Miranda's hair to work. I keep getting a bald shep or one with hair that defies physics.

A question for all sheps here...Was there ever a squad mate your shep didn't get along with or just avoided all together? Was there ever a time she wanted to eject said teammate out the air lock? Did they ever learn to get along? Or was there a character that Shep simply never grew close to?

Well, I hope it works out. It would've been even better, of course, if BioWare just made the hairstyle available for custom Shepards too, but only slightly modified so it doesn't clip with the custom head shape. I wonder why they didn't? If modders are able to figure it out relatively quickly, then surely it wouldn't have been a problem for the programmers.

Yeah, I know, but I'm a perfectionist, so that's why I normally don't bother with it. Either do it completely right, or don't do it at all, you know? But I'll try to shoot a good picture tonight.

biogame.ini > sfxgame > sfxplayercustomization > casualappearances = (multiple)

On the right side, go down to the 8th line (Id=7) and replace:

Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_NKD_R.NKDc.HMF_ARM_NKDc_MDL"

with:

Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_NKD_R.NKDa.HMF_ARM_NKDa_MDL"

That will give you the new (actually old) body during the love scene. If you would also like to run around the ship like that then you will also want to set the plot flag to -1 on that same line.

I originally just picked things that looked nice to me and it ended up looking rather typical woman around here. No sharp details, smallish nose that's opposite to roman nose. I'd say that button noses are most common for women (and in less cute, more straighter form for men) where I live so that probably had some influence. I got the original face constructed rather fast but when ME2 was released and I finished the that game I wanted the face code. That started the tweaking period to get all tiny things the way I liked. I didn't have any clear vision what I wanted but to be honest, all my characters end up looking the same. Basically I pick things I like and that look good to me, I never try to model my characters after any particular person.

We know for fact it's possible, because for example, they did this in ME2.  The custom head shape is not static.  For the pulled back hairstyles, the actual shape and size of the head changed in the character creator between hairstyles (this is because the scalp used to be textured ie. painted on, and not a part of the hair model.)

All the Mass Effect games have assets that are readily available in the game, but not to Shepard without modding.  Who knows why.
