The Reaper Blackstar? Sadly it's like all heavy weapons, use until empty then discarded.

edit - bah, imgur playing up it seems. Will post a topshep after work, so about 9 hours from now :pinched:

edit 2 - sod it, it's the accidental cute shot again

Very sad - I like the look and the name Reaper Blackstar fits it - its a *gorgeous* weapon if you can say this for a weapon. ( says a pacifist touched human :P )

Yeah, noticed that shot of Chiara had it strapped across her back  Having it in your hand is one thing, but you do that with your main gun anyway.

I miss that from ME2, especially as Kira almost always used the Arc Projector, that big solid block of don't-mess-with-me up the middle of the armour

edit and now imgur's working again, the image I'd originally intended to post, Kira's smirk after telling off TIM at the end of ME2, which I realised I'd never posted.

Hi guys~ Still haven't prepared posting pictures, so I guess a (tough?) question will do? So, how much does your Shepard's LI mean to them or what kind of effect does your Shepard's LI have on them? Also if given the choice between fulfilling a mission or saving their LI, who or what would your Shepard choose? And how would your Shepard react afterwards? I'm particularly curious for renegades or those "mission first" Shepard types, but everyone may freely answer :D

It's hard for me to answer in the context of Mass Effect because I honestly did not think this scenario would happen so I did not prepare for it. (Was shocked to see that it was a possiblity for Tali's story -- made sense though.) My first game of Dragon Age, I chose the mission over the LI. I didn't expect the outcome that I got, but it was what it was. That just sucked all around. I didn't feel like a hero in the end. I never got real closure. Even if I had a do-over to change a variable or two, it would have compromised the integrity of my character and cheapened the game for me. (Also there was a bottleneck that I was absolutely unwilling to compromise on. Just no way around it so I was stuck between a bad break-up or death scene. Couldn't win.) This was exactly the reason why I picked up Mass Effect. I had read a thread where the LIs got compared to the ones in ME and when I read that Kaidan would still be there at the conclusion of ME1, I went out and got the game so I could just BE the hero and still have the guy in the end.

In all honesty, my renegade probably would have put the mission first and then I'd just be a pissed off gamer for being put in that position in the first place. =p

This is pretty much how I feel about love in the Mass Effect Universe. I really hate the Virmire choice. In my head cannon, Asche doesn't simply decide to leave Ashley to the Geth, she tries to go get her. Asche doesn't just leave soldiers (friends, lovers) behind. Later, Kaidan blames Ashley's death on themselves. She says she would never leave Kaidan behind. Asche never gets to say what I want her to say, which is Kaidan had the more tactically important position and that she tried so hard to get to Ashley.

And, Asche is a good enough shot, and fast enough, she could have killed Udina before Kaidan got a shot off. She also trusts in her shields. It's weird that one shot can kill Kaidan, but in actual gameplay, Kaidan is such a beast, he never goes down.

So, Asche would do her darndest to make sure evrybody lives and the mission successful But the game often forces us into these either or choices. Dragon Age did the same thing. I was angry and depressed for a week after that horrible, unexpected ending. At least Mass Effect and ME2 ended on high notes. :)

I don't really have a soundtrack for my girls. The game does well enough in providing it for me!

In celebration of all the wonderful Sheps highlighted in this thread and the fantastic flycam shots I've been seeing, here is Lida, my infiltrator, on Menae.

Takes me to a happy place.

But euhh, ontopic. I might start Jane's playthrough from scratch. I made some screenshots in the beginning with the default N7 and feck me if they look horrible. So I kinda wanna start over. She's not too far in anyways.

This is my wallpaper atm, and I adore the shot, but the armor *shakes head*. If I have the mod now, I might aswell use it =P

And I have this creeping need to tweak Marie in ME3 to look sort of like herself.
It'll be a challange, aside from her using Ash's texture her hair is the mirrored Jane 1.0 so I'll have a ball deciding how to sort that. She was going to be my Vegamancer, it'll have to happen in my head I suppose =/

Off Topic: Quick Question: Is there ANY way to keep the FPS in ME3 for PC 30-60 FPS Without lowering anything? Please Help.

I hear in Equestria you can upgrade a laptop with love. Try that.

MASSEFFECTfanforlife101 wrote...

^ You know how long it took for me to but this Latop??? For the last time (because people keep telling me this) I AM NOT GOING TO BUY A NEW LAPTOP. My Laptop came out in January 2011. It's NOT that effing old! I spent $1,016.00 for it. I was lucky.

I hate this option. I KNOW that there is a different option. I'm tired of hearing this "GPU" Crap. I need something that doesn't involve getting a different Computer.  Why do I even care? The FPS at 1280x720 Resolution goes from 30-60 most of the time. The FPS at 1600x900 Resolutin goes from 21-30-40. WHY the heck is that so bad for everyone??? And I hate it when others brag.

I mean, do people CONSTANTLY buy new computers for every new game that comes out, just to make sure their game look smooth? I'm sorry if I don't have the right amount of money every time. I hate it when people claim the game cannot be playable when it's 21-30 fps. WHY? Some console game have worse. This is insane.

I want to enjoy these games without being told that I need a new damn laptop.

I'm just saying that upgrading is the only option if you aren't going to do overclocking and you are not willing to sacrifice image quality. There really is no other alternative and I did suggest overclocking. I've squeezed quite a bit of performance from my own system with overclocking (I've invested in proper cooling). There's no magical fix that makes your system twice faster.

With that amount of money you would have been able to build desktop PC that would have been many times faster in games. You card is is lower midrange at the time it was released for laptops. There isn't really much you can do. Laptops aren't game machines and even the fastest GPU's are no where near as fast as what is available for desktops. For example, 5 years old card like 8800 GT would run ME3 just fine maxed out even at 1920x1080.

At the time, we live in a crowded house. There was no room for a Desktop. I lucky enough to use the dining room table to use my Laptop.

You have one out of two options.

Lower your graphics settings.

Or, my personal favorite.

Problem solved.

Now, moving on to more on-topic discussions.

I have a FemShep question: How did your FemShep feel on the eve of the final (unmentionable) battle on earth? Anxious, scared out of her wits...did she resign herself to the idea of death?

Jennifer was literally scared out of her wits, Kaidan's presence didn't help in the least, despite how much she appreciated his presence, but he was like a constant reminder of what she did NOT want to lose again.

She'd lost him once, she'd lost her life once, and as much as she'd resigned herself to the idea that the dead don't come back, and that the universe somehow let this quirk (brought upon the galaxy by Miranda Lawson's ingenuity) happen, didn't mean that she thought she'll actually have a second chance. She fully believed that the universe, so full of sh*t and so great in its chaos, was bound to set it right and send her back to where she belonged, her grave. Yet, on that eve, she was scared because she didn't want this to happen, she wanted to live, and marry Kaidan and teach Wrex's babies how to swear like a true Krogan. It was ultimately what made her fight so hard, but no matter how hard you fight, there was a lesson learned.

The universe might have forgave this quirk and let it be, she might've stopped the reapers with the magic of friendship and love, but after all this long hard fight, BioWare kicks your butt by giving you Red, Green or Blue <_<

But yes, I look forward to your answers.

@MizzNaaa
Laire was relieved to be there. Working up to build an army was more taxing for her, to do all she could that would count towards the eventual outcome. At the time of being back on Earth, she considered it to be largely out of her hands. In the grand scheme of things, she'd already done her part. Whether she personally would live or die was more a consideration before (Reaper fight on Rannoch for instance) then at that point where she just resigned to 'wait and see' what all her efforts would amount up to in the final push. More the fear of general failure which would end in everyone's death.

Ready to take no prisoners, nervous, and alone. June knows that, because of her unique strengths given to her by Miranda and TIM, not to mention the work of all the top scientists and more money than anyone can imagine, she will probably be the only one strong enough to see this to the end. There will end up being a moment where her squad mates will fall behind, or where they meet a challenge only she can face, and she couldn't ask her squad mates to face it with her, except maybe EDI, but perhaps not even her. Who knows what she will face? It would mean nothing to her, if you asked her about resigning to death. The one thing she cannot resign herself to is failure, or the death of everyone she's protecting. She's been the lone survior on Akuze. She does not want to see it again.

Death hasn't scared Sarah before and it didn't know either. She has died once and is ready to do so again if that's what it takes. Seeing Earth again hit hard, all those people that died to buy her time to collect everyone with a gun. It made her even more determined to fulfill her part. When Kaidan asked her if she was scared Sarah admitted that she had never been more scared in her life but yet she was more calm than before. She was hitting the "zone" which makes her a complete killing machine. No emotion, no fear, nothing.
Like Sarah said to Garrus, "Let's just finish this crap, i'm sick of it already and i have other things i want to spend time doing"  All the goodbyes with her friends did make her second guess herself and if she could do her part. What She did fear was to lose everyone and she didn't want to fail them by dying either but what she really feared the most is to fail her mission, to not be good enough. She did want to come back and she did make a promise and Sarah always keep her promises

I'd love to say that she was calm and confident but in reality she was scared to death. She felt really unreal and the possibility of failure was stalking her.

Interesting  question the best way I can answer it is that with the words another one of favorite characters.

Her heart was dancing.  A mix fear, anger,  and everything else... it was more like anticpation. She knew that was coming and warrior in her could not wait ... win or lose it was all going to left there in  London.

then... well the rest has  talked to death over the past  months .

Nah, not resigned to death. One of my favorite exchanges in ME2 was this:

Miranda: "We all knew this was likely a one-way trip."
Shepard: "I'll do whatever it takes to stop the Collectors, but I plan to live to tell about it."
Joker: "I'm glad you're in charge."

Grim about the war assets though. I thought it was very believable that Shepard was running the numbers before the final love scene. It wasn't so much about Shepard's ability to get the job done, but what the collateral damage was going to be, what kind of ruthless calculus was going to be made, if whole fleets were going to be wiped out while she ran the gauntlet. Those things weighed heavy on her.

Funny enough, on the first playthrough, I honestly thought we'd be tested on our knowledge of what each race brought to the table the same way we delegated roles in the suicide mission. ("OK, krogans are field troops, asaris stay back and do this, etc.") When Aria explained what each mercenary group was good for, I made notes. When I was faced between giving the salarians the sabotage they wanted or siding with the krogans, as much as I loved Wrex, I sat there and considered the deal. I didn't know how important the crucible was and didn't want to risk losing valuable scientists that could strengthen it. (Wrex was such a shining beacon of hope for the krogans that he won out in the end.) I was fine with not actually giving out battle assignments in the end, that they were cutscene fodder for "the war is about to begin guyz!" moments, but it really stunned me to not see any war assets play out, to not have any clue whatsoever what happened to them after the final choice was made.

Reyna felt torn, well aware that she probably is the only one who is able to stop the madness - but so helpless on the other side.
She wasn't really scared about a fight or her own death - she was scared to disappoint her friends, her Love and all the others who counted on her.
It was always her fix idea to safe ALL - and this time she was pretty sure she couldn't.

It's the last hope of salvaging anything from the trainwreck that was ME3 for me...if they mess that up, then yeah... well my boxes are going to collect even more dust. I'm excited, but I'm afraid, cause I really hope this fixes at least ONE of the issues I have with the game.

The EC FAQ said this:

To experience the Extended Cut, load a save game from before the attack on the Cerberus Base and play through to the end of the game. The Extended Cut endings will differ depending on choices made throughout the Mass Effect series, so multiple playthroughs with a variety of different decisions will be required to experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content.

I can't remember exactly when our EMS score gets locked in so I may spend the weekend raising my EMS back up again to be safe if I have to backtrack that far. I do have three Shepards ready to go, each with different colors in the end (and overall decisions) so I'm curious to see how different it'll be across the board.

Hmm, I've kind of lost track of all the FemShep questions. Let's see what I can remember....

1. Captain/Cmdr Bailey - Initially Jennifer liked and respected him but the manner in which he gained his current position - taking out Executor Pallin - raised a red flag for her because her (limited) experience of the taurian didn't suggest that he was a man (Taurian) on the take. She suspects Udina's hand behind Pallin's all-too convenient fall and Bailey's convenient rise but whether Bailey was a witting or unwitting co-conspirator in Udina's plans is still an open question in Jennifer's mind.

2. Shore leave: Jennifer likes to visit the weapons range and try out the latest cutting-edge military hardware.

4. Personal theme song/soundtrack: Götterdämmerung by Richard Wagner.

5. Mission or LI: Mission every time however hard it might be at the time. Jennifer's a Soldier, a Soldier who can't complete their mission might as well be dead. When Liara said they could steal a ship and hide out on a remote planet far away from the Reaper War Jennifer knew that could never be anything more than a wistful fantasy while the Reaper threat remained. The Tenth Street Reds had taught her to Survive ('you fight or you die'); the Alliance had taught her to Function ('to put hyper-velocity rounds through the heads of bad guys') but Liara T'Soni had shown her that it was not enough to simply Exist; you have to Experience the universe in its fullness ('embrace Infinity') and falling in love with Liara T'Soni has arguably given Jennifer a Reason for why she keeps fighting.

6. Feelings on the eve of the final battle: Surprisingly calm; Jennifer had Liara by her side; she had defeated Sovereign, Saren, the Collectors and (at least) two Reaper Destroyers. She had survived death. As she had told the Alliance tribunal: "We fight or we die". Thousands (millions?) of civilizations had already fallen to the Reapers and there would be no shame if Humanity also failed; the only dishonour would be in not trying; in rolling over and accepting the fate the Reapers decreed. But even if Humanity failed - as the Protheans had failed - there was every chance - thanks to Liara's seeding of her message to the universe throughout the galaxy - that the next galactic civilization would succeed.

Me neither. It helps, of course, that while I don't like the current endings, they absolutely didn't ruin the game for me. So the EC can only make things better and if it doesn't... oh well, no harm done.

Edit: A shame, though, that Femshep isn't featured on the official EC wallpaper. Maybe a bit silly to whine about it, but dammit BioWare, was is too difficult to release two wallpapers?

Oh well, Kaidan's missing too, so femshep is in good company.
