Answers to some of the questions asked:
Favorite guns:
I can live without the Widow, I absolutely hate snipers with only one shot per clip. I do love the Black Widow, though. And the N7 Valiant of course. The Graal Spike Thrower and Geth Pulse Rifle are my favorite shotgun and assault rifle, respectively, although the latter doesn't seem to do much damage on Insanity, sadly.
Do I have a Shepard standing by for the EC?
At the time, I didn't know that a save from before the assault on Cronos Station would be best, but coincidence has it that I temporarily abandoned my Infiltrator, Katida, a few weeks ago just before triggering the final attack on Cerberus. So, when I have downloaded the EC, I can finally bring Katida's journey to a (hopefully) fulfilling conclusion.
I still don't know what ending I should pick, though. I think I'm going for the Destroy ending... I can only hope that EDI and the Geth will be spared if my EMS is high enough. If they don't... well, than I know that, during future playthroughs, I can stop playing just before Hackett announces that the Crucible doesn't work. In my version of Shepard's story, the Crucible will work on it's own, EDI and the Geth will live and so will Shepard, who gets saved from the Citadel and reunites with her loved ones.

As for myself: I wanted to start a new playthrough of ME3 (yes, again. I have the same 'problem' when I play World of Warcraft: I'm just too much of an "altoholic" as they call it. I love creating new characters, new personalities and new backstories, but when the actual gameplay starts I tend to get bored pretty fast. But maybe that's just my ADD working. It's better than a few years back, but I still tend to have the attention span of a goldfish when it comes to videogames -- or at least, completing them).
But I digress. What I wanted to say was that it suddenly seemed like a better idea to start a new Shepard in ME2 and play through both games again. I was also curious how ME2 would stack up against ME3, especially since many people think ME2 was better. Of course, I've only completed Freedom's Progress, but I have trouble agreeing with those people. The lighting, the animations, the dialogue -- everything feels clunky and just... off. Not that it's suddenly a bad game, though, far from it. I guess the game just has to grow on me again. Playing ME1 for the first time after ME2 felt weird, too, so...
Anyway, I'm not going to make it too difficult for myself. My Shepard is currently still a soldier, but I'm going to make her a Sentinel and just relax and breeze through the game on Veteran difficulty.
