I remember that on my first playthrough, I had the hoody on before the summit on the Normandy. I changed to the formal uniform specifically to be in tone with the event :P

@Ashoken great work with the faces - my favorite is Nr. 6 :)
@MizzNaaa Jennifer looks adorable cute in ME1 - nice thing with the marathon :wizard:
@demos99 I love that mischivious grin on her - and yes - I died sometimes, too. Kolossus was hard *lol*
@razviolet Looking forward to see your challenge Faces
@Syrdeth Well then this Vent - shot is much more awesome
And yes - Reyna is getting tired and worn out more and more. Every fight has its cost to her.

@raziel1980
Gabrielle in ME1 is awesome
@Saturn Rings :) thanks and no I didn't know. Under my FemShep's Reyna is MY Baby<3
@Rikketik If you really once have time to look at you can always give me some headsup or critics :) I think you are a good writer

So - I miss sagequeen - anyone knows if she is okay ?

Questions that need answers:

Coffee: - Jennifer's more of a hard liquor drinking gal really. If she needs stims, Dr Chakwas has some 'treatments' she makes available for missions.

Team selection: Jennifer tends to follow the Homer Simpson template for mission selection. If you don't remember it goes something like this (adapted for ME2 obviously)-

Good practice, team. Now its time for the easiest part of any comander’s job. The cuts. Although I wasn’t able to cut everyone I wanted to, I have cut a lot of you. Kasumi is cut. Samara is cut. Jacob, you’re gone. Zaeed, I like your hussle [Zaeed smiles]. Thats why it was so hard to cut you [Zaeed's smile drops]. Miranda you're cut. So's Mordin. Congratulations, the rest of you made the team! [random sighs of relief] Except you, you and you.

:P

razviolet wrote...

@demos99: ME2's settings are definitely harder than ME3.

I play for the story rather than the combat so Casual is my default combat setting, so upping it to Hardcore was quite a learning curve. Jennifer took Grunt (immune to sun) and Garrus (Heavy Overload) with her to Haestrom and swapped out Reave for Squad Warp Ammo. Things didn't go too badly until the squad hit the Remote Drones and then Jennifer kept getting flanked by the Geth Prime so died twice then as I recall. I think she also died once trying to get back to the pillar with the detonators. Crunch time came with the Colossus however. Plan A was to take down it down from the room with shutters that overlooks the battlefield:

OMG!
Posted Image

Hit the dirt!
Posted Image

Tactic was to use the Black Widow to take shields down to 50% then hit it with the Cain, which worked. Jennifer then ran down to Kal'Reegar:

Is that a rocket launcher in your environment suit or are you just pleased to see me?
Posted Image

only to find that the damned Colussus had respawned! Okay, not a problem, makes sense (sort of); just repeat the previous tactic:

Charging:
Posted Image

BOOM!
Posted Image

Easy. Now just to mop up the remaining Geth she thought. But no. Despite having been removed from the field of battle (according to the radar map at least) the Colossus respawned a second time!!

WTF?!
Posted Image

Damnit. No more Cain ammo. Okay, obviously the game doesn't want you to take out the Colossus from a distance. Change tactics. Let's reload.

So, first I tried to take the right flank as I'd previously done in Casual. It was a long, hard fight down to the other end but eventually Jennifer reached the overlook box. Tried to use the Black Widow to take down the shields but she got rush-mobbed by a horde of geth and the Widow just can't handle that many enemies in close succession. Garrus's Overload helps once but recharges too slowly to help with the next geth. (In hindsight should have brought Miranda with Area Overload for crowd control rather than Grunt. Also, should have equipped the Tempest SMG when had the chance. Checked; it's too late to go back to the Weapons Locker once you meet Reegar.)

Next I tried taking the Colossus down at Reegar's ledge as before and then Storming down the center path before it could respawn but no such luck and besides, Jennifer got cut down before she made it to the top anyway. (Got ambushed and there just wasn't any cover to heal behind.) I had to take a break then, 'cos it was waaaay past bedtime.

So next day (Sunday) I tried again. Had to use a different PC because my daughter was hogging the main machine playing DA2, so no screenshots of this session. (Pity.) Took the left path, Take One: got halfway and then died (Forget why. Oh yes, lack of health!). Take Two: managed to get to the top, pulled out the Widow to whittle the Colossus's shields and got bum-rushed (again) by respawning geth and just couldn't take them down fast enough without getting in the way of the Colossus' machine gun. Critical Mission Failure time. Take Three: Same as Take Two really except she made sure Garrus and Grunt followed her up and then - and this is where I wish I'd engaged Fraps - she decided to use the Cain on the Colossus at maximum shield strength and (hopefully) take out the spawning geth cluster with her first shot. Success! Colossus was still in the game though at only half armor, so although Jennifer's shields had been taken out and she was hemorrhaging health she still risked letting off the second Cain shot rather than healing under cover (in case more geth spawned); result: one very cripsy toasted Colossus!  For a moment though I really thought I was looking at another Critical Mission Failure because Jennifer was down to like a single bar of health (not sure what that translates to in points) but she's made of tough stuff and finally managed to walk away to fight another day.

Phew! I was glad to be able to save the game after all that.

@SebAus Kyla looks great. Softer look than many of our femsheps, very appealing.

@JobacNoor welcome aboard, hope that's not the only shot of your shep we're going to see

@JaneShepard nice action shot there, then the follow up with Jane and her crew

@Ashoken love Lida's look. Somehow that hair looks good on other people's sheps, but I can't face using it on one of my own for 25+ hours of gameplay. Strange, really.

@Raziel thanks for the kind words about Nyalla. It's the first name I use in any new game, the face import bug in ME3 was a real frustration for me. Allison looking superb as always and who could/would forget Gabby?

@Flashmonkey great looking Shep there, look forward to seeing more pictures of Liv.

@Rikketik glad you like my sheps, cos yours is stunning

@EvilDeity Fiana looks great. I do feel for console players, you must hate us PC types sometimes

@LadyAly more Reyna is never a bad thing. Even moar Reyna is better B)

@Mizznaa strangely familiar looking Shep, resembles Nyalla a bit

@Demos99 there are some bad days where I beat myself over the head with the same fight because I only play on Insanity, and sometimes I just know I should walk away for 10 minutes but can't :pinched: Great shots

@Razviolet love the shots of Mercy, but only 2? :crying: As for the Defender on Nyalla, Menae is so early that I barely have access to any of the good stuff yet and the N7 gear only gives health. At least Defender has some health, some shields and some ammo capacity. The Sur'kesh shots show the slow move toward headshot/damage gear.

As for the Ashley thing, there are two reactions for a femshep when you catch her listening to her sister's voicemail. If you've progressed far enough with Kaidan's romance, she says that scuttlebutt says he's already sweet on someone, meaning Shepard. If not, then she does the "don't ask, don't tell" routine. I'm sure one of our American brethren could explain that one better for us Euro types :P

Ooookay, as promised last night, moar Karys!

Here's a little question:
What is your take on Shepard's love instructions to EDI?

I find that situation extremely funny as she did sound rather shamefaced when she answered to EDI. Also, she is a blind as a bat when it comes to love and relationships, and she is single. Try giving love advices to a machine with that kind of background - Hah!

@demos99 Oh yes - I see your point - I din't have the Cain with me the first time:whistle: Desaster preassigned
@CrazyGreggy OMG - she is the cutest thing in a helmet

I guess I missed the coffee question - so - its simple
All of my Shep's loving her coffee black and hot - the only one which is taking sugar in is Reyna ...

@Tupi3xi mmh - it really depends on my Shep.
My Males are rather amused about.
Reyna - goodhearted as she is - tried just to help in the best way
Mel = well- she told her stories of her own life *giggle* She is a rather mischivious and easy one.
Carry attempted to explain the stuff with the bees and flowers
and Chiara just told her to discuss this with Dr. Chakwas :P

@Tup3xi: Over the course of ME2, Hannah had started to feel almost like a mother to EDI, since she had been providing her with moral guidance and suggestions on how to become more like a human. So this was just like a biological mom having to have "the talk" with a daughter.

This is also why Hannah would never think about romancing either EDI or Joker - EDI being like a daughter to her prevents her from being able to consider the former, and it wouldn't be fair for her to hurt EDI by making a play for her pilot.

US military policy was originally that anyone who was gay would be discharged from service. Back in the 90s, the policy was changed to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" - the idea was that you were no longer legally allowed to ask another soldier whether they were gay, but if a soldier told anybody that they were gay they could be discharged from service.

Yes, I get the feeling she's not very confortable telling anything, at least at the beginning. Perhaps that because of the rather "mechanic" way EDI is approachign it? "Unknown outcomes, yet you still attempt it? (paraphrasing)" I can picture Shepard thinking in her head "yep... that hasn't worked that great for me so far." :D

I thought it was funny too. My main Shep and her alt are single - mostly. In the end i think EDI has a better grasp of what being in a relationship involves. The advice was good though when approaching relationship in general - romantic or not.

@ merylisk: Thank you, that would be great. :)

@ LadyAly: Well, I'm studying to become a journalist (and perhaps, in a few years, a writer), so writing will be my job... although I'm better at it in my native language. But thanks for the compliment!

@ Tup3xi: Oh, the talk... *facepalmes* I can't believe the writers actually made Shepard say you play music when you like someone. I mean, what?! If I like someone I go tell them, I will not play music for them and hope they take the hint. No, I will just straight out tell them. So that is also what I let most op my Shepards tell her in my headcanon: "It's obvious he likes you, EDI, so go tell him you like him too. I have two big-ass pillows in my cabin, you can use those if you want to have sex with each other. We'll be staying here for another day, so you can even do it tonight. Consult Mordin for other instructions. Oh, and keep the pillows."

@ nitefyre410: Wow, stunning art. I wish I could draw like that.

@ raziel1980: Same! One they've collected the Hahne-Kedar leg armor, which is really early, they immediately equip after the mission and it never leaves their legs again. At least not during combat. :P

So, now some shots from Berlitz from yesterday:

Posted Image

After the Rachni mission, Berlitz decided to check up on her significant other. She just talked with EDI, who noted that Liara has become a more private person since becoming the Shadow Broker. Berlitz agreed. Luckily, Liara seemed to be in a talkative mood, although the conversation mainly consisted about angsting about her lifespan and the Reapers. *sigh* She knew she shouldn't complain, not after all that Liara has done for her, but sometimes she misses the adorkable, naive Liara she once knew. At least she got a kiss out of the conversation...

The next mission took place on Tutchanka. Cerberus was once again up to no good, this time targeting an ancient Korgan anti-air cannon. Berlitz figured it would be best if the Alliance gained control over that thing before they tried to undertake anymore missions on the planet. Javik ensured her that he was ready to take part in missions, so she took him along with her. She initially planned to take EDI with her too, but given Javik's aversion against synthetics it seemed wise to take Garrus instead.

Not much to say about the mission itself. She felt she had a good synergy with Javik; first Garrus would take out all the shields and then she and Javik would tear through the Cerberus troops with their biotics.

When she came back on the Normandy, there was a surprise waiting for her. Apparently, Liara wanted to talk with her... in private.

Posted Image

So, Berlitz decided to dress for the occasion.

Suffice to say it went horribly wrong.

The last time she wore a dress was at Donovan Hock's party on Bekenstein, more than six months ago. It showed, as she was anything but elegant in that thing. She even forgot to close her legs while sitting! To make things worse, Liara only wanted to show her the time capsule she made, in case the Reapers will win the war. *groan*

So, after Liara left, she immediately changed back into her regular clothes and took the dress to Javik -- could he please toss that unholy piece of leather out of the airlock? She had forgotten about Javik's ability to "read" everything he touches, but at least he was trying not to laugh at his commander...

Posted Image

Next stop was Benning. Those Turians could wait -- Berlitz wouldn't let Cerberus abduct all those innocent people. During the shuttle flight, she watched how Cortez was doing. A few days earlier, she had a talk with him at the armory. Turned out, he still had difficulties coping with the death of his husband. Until up that point, Berlitz relationship with her shuttle pilot was strictly personal and she wasn't one to make friends with everybody. But she felt she could relate to him, to his grief. It has almost been three years since Ashley's death and Berlitz thought she had left it behind her. But when you're relieved from duty and spent most of your time alone in a room, you start thinking about things... about the people you've lost.

It felt good she was able to be there for Cortez when he needed it. She made him promise to take some time off the next time they were on the Citadel. Not so he could take his mind of things, because pushing your grief away won't help. You've got to confront it...

Posted Image

... Which he did. It was nice, standing there with him, talking and watching the ships drift by. Berlitz had just told a human ambassador, one Dominic Osoba, that his son had died on Benning. He took it well, but still... those are the hardest talks.

Posted Image

Another loss to deal with. Long story short: The Turians completed their mission, but Tarquin Victus, son of the Primarch, had to sacrifice itself to make it happen. Berlitz was saddened by his death, but oddly proud too. She had always admired the willingness of the turians to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. So instead of mourning him, Berlitz decided to take inspiration from Tarquin, hoping that if she had to sacrifice herself to end the war, she would have the same courage as the the members of the 9th Platoon.

Next time on Dragon Ball Z Berlitz' playthrough: Curing the genophage. B)
