@ razviolet: Heh, we are not only getting English lessons here, but also French and German starting when we're about twelve years old. I didn't mind the English because almost every form of international media (videogames, movies, tv shows) here is in English anyway, but French and German... I even had to repeat an entire grade because I failed those two subjects, I was that bad at them. So, while it may sound impressive (and can't read that word anymore without hearing Garrus' voice), it's not always so ideal.

Oh, and (back to the game) I agree about Sentinels! I started Berlitz as a ranged Vanguard (so no chargin') but I quickly felt like I wasn't playing the class to its strength, so I switched to Sentinel. Tech Armor, Fitness and Offensive Specialist are maxed, as are AP Ammo (bonus power to make my weapons hit harder) and Throw (for when I want to combo with Liara). I believe I also have a few points in Overload, but I always have either Garrus, EDI or Kaidan with me anyway, so that doesn't matter much.
As for the weapons: The Vindicator has quickly become my favorite assault rifle. Light but surprisingly powerful and accurate (with the right mods). The only problem is its burst fire, but I have a Hurricane with me when I run out of ammo. I also like the Revenant because of it just feels and looks badass (and nothing is more satisfying than firing from the hip and pumping an Atlas or a Brute full with bullets). And for situations that require a little more bite, I always have the Graal with me. Best shotgun in the game, if you'd ask me.
And now, the next part of Berlitz' story. Not many good shots to work with, so bear with me.
The Krogan were cured, but not without a price: Mordin had died to ensure the cure would work. Berlitz was more affected by his death than she initially thought -- when Garrus almost
ordered her to get some shut-eye (for which she was grateful, even though she didn't want to admit it) and she fell asleep on her bed, she was greeted by a familiar sight: a dark forest, robbed of all color, and filled with shadows and that one memory of earth that just wouldn't let go. Yes, that boy. She was shocked by his death, she really was, but why did his death kept haunting her? She went to bed to get some rest, but when she woke up she just felt more tired than ever.
Liara was there when she woke up. She said the Salarian Councilor had contacted the Normandy and that it was important, but she didn't want to wake Shepard up. Apparently it had been obvious she was having a nightmare, but it felt good to be able to talk about it. She normally thought watching someone else sleep was a bit creepy, but with Liara it felt more like she was keeping watch. Did that make sense? Either way, she was grateful that Liara was there for her. She just wondered if it was as a lover, perhaps a bondmate even, or as just a friend...? Liara was sending out a lot of mixed signals lately and Berlitz was planning to tell her exactly how she felt about that.
There were more pressing matters at this moment, however.
The Salarian Councilor, Valern, made sure she knew that he wasn't happy with the genophage cure, but Berlitz couldn't care less. More interesting was his suspicion that Udina was corrupt. Could she come to the Citadel as quickly as possible?
Sure she could. She was Shepard, she could do anything! She wasn't busy with fighting the Reapers at all! Damn politics.

When they finally arrived at the Citadel, it seemed they were already too late. After their docking request was ignored, Joker managed to make contact with Thane, who had bad news: Cerberus had attacked the station. Could Udina be behind this?
The attack was, in short, brutal. Berlitz could not believe what she was seeing. Was this really the Cerberus she worked with less than a year ago? Was she just blind at the time or did the Reapers have anything to do with the Illusive Man's sudden descent into what seemed like madness?
Aside from all the civilian casualties (who were just shot in the streets) and the C-Sec soldiers that had died defending the Citadel, the attack also claimed Thane's life. Cerberus had send an assassin after the Salarian Councilor, who, according to Anderson, went by the name of Kai-Leng. Anderson warned Shepard to not underestimate him, but Berlitz wondered just how good he was when he couldn't take down a terminally ill Drell? Of course, Thane
was the best of the best.
He saved the Salarian Councilor, but got fatally stabbed in the process. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but a shortage of Drell blood and od course his illness meant that Thane had not much longer to live. His son, Kolyat, was already with him. He asked her if she would join him in a prayer.
"Kalahira, this one's heart is pure, but beset by wickedness and contention," Kolyat began. Berlitz continued:
"Guide this one to where the traveler never tires, the lover never leaves, the hungry never starve. Guide this one, Kalahira, and she will be a companion to you as she was to me."
"Kolyat... why did the last verse say 'she'?"
"The prayer was not for him, commander. He has already asked forgiveness for the lifes he has taken. His wish was for you."
There was still much to be done on the Citadel, but Berlitz couldn't get herself to do anything. Not today.
