@SaturnRing, The Synthesis ending tries to invoke feels. Still my favorites are Destroy and Refusal. 'Cause I'm a terrible person and I just can't find the caring part of me.
I make no apologies. :wizard:

*goes to sit in the Terrible Corner with Red* Ah, don't feel bad. There's cake over here! :D

I admit that in the attempt to convey feelings, something got lost in translation. I think i'll get it eventually. That doesn't make u guys bad. I could use some cake too.

Jane patiently waiting on me...Downguard is so long.

@demos99: Time spent in house arrest/seclusion is a practical reason to have renegade meters reset to a lower value...if i had to guess.

@Jane Shepard: i like that part with Polina - i always try to remember not to mention Nhilus to anyone so i can get that extra cut scene...i also like the exchange with Cole. Such a shame that my favorite Spectre had to die there.

@Rikketik: You nailed the awkward 'passive-agressive' squad conversations on the Normandy so acutely with Berlitz and Liara's exchanges. Jennifer's usually like, 'Damnit girl, we're supposed to be in a relationship; why you got no time for me anymore?' :(

I now try to just make the best of it, but it really bothered me in the beginning. If there's gonna be a romance DLC, I hope BioWare builds in a "cuddle option" like we had in ME2 or something like that. Something, anything, that gives us the feeling between missions that we are actually in a relationship with someone.

@ SebAusFR: Heh, you better watch out. You start out like this but before you now it, you are writing three pages worth of text about three missions. That's how it went with me at least.

I like it, though. It really makes a Shepard feel like a unique character.

^_^ It's a slippery slope, yes... I used to role-play by email in a Sci-Fi setting (Star Trek ) for almost 12 years, so that reminds me a bit of that. It's interesting to see how people can all get a different perspective on the same story (or rather bunch of stories, since the details varies from playthrough to the next).

So, only one mission left to go! I don't feel like writing (I'd rather just finish the game tonight), so I'll just toss a few screenshots from Cronos Station (and the events leading up to it) your way instead. I will finish Berlitz' story in the near future, in words I mean, just not tonight. I felt like things got a little bit too exhaustive, so I'll try to... refine... things a bit.

Anyway, the screenshots. Eleven of them, about 300-400KB each, so I hope they won't eat up too much bandwidth.

Teaching EDI a little something about humanity. I loved the dialogue:

"Are you saying submission is preferable over extinction?"
"My primery function is to preserve and defend the... no. No, I disagree."

She looks fierce! The only question is whether she is angry at Cerberus or at Berlitz' wel-formed behind.

Hearing Kaidan say that, after Horizon and the Mars mission... that meant a lot to Berlitz.

Image IPB

I couldn't resist.

Image IPB

Berlitz really thought Kai-Leng was dead, given the way his head exploded and all, but apparently he survived. He tried to kill her, but she heard him coming from mileeeees away. That sword isn't exactly silent, you know?

Image IPB

Whoops! Sorry, Kai-Leng, it wasn't my intention, but it seems like my omniblade is stuck between your ribs! Silly me. Can you hold still for a minute while I slowly and carefully wriggle it loose? Thanks!

Browser crashed on me while I was typing up my response on a separate tab. =p (I knew better to do it in notepad instead, but then I'd have to fix the formatting issues when I paste it back so I got lazy.)

Re: playing a character with no emotional attachment.

Oh, yeah. What's more surprising is that I actually played her from ME1 all the way to ME3. I made her for the Garrus romance, but because I played as a paragon to explore lines and outcomes that I didn't experience on my canon, I had a hard time relating to her straight and narrow ways. A little too idealistic for my preferred playstyle. The only thing that kept me going was Garrus' romance because he made me weak in the knees. He was worth it!

Re: Discovering Liara giving body to Cerberus

Just rolled with it. It wasn't the time to look at a gift horse in the mouth. The fact that Liara constantly bent over backwards for my Shepard (the one that likes to keep most relationships professional) was not lost on her. Ended up having my renegade returning the favor by taking all those paragon interrupts when Liara was clearly upset during LoTSB.

Several pages back, there were comparison pics of Shepard carrying Kaidan/Ashley based on the nature of their relationship so I'll just add in mine. What's amusing is that I specifically sent Kaidan to the AA tower because I didn't want the scene with Shepard hoisting him over her shoulder. It just seemed overkill since the VS only needed help walking, which an arm over the shoulder would have sufficed. It made more sense in ME3 since the VS was effectively KO'ed. I laughed because the game was making sure I definitely got this scene whether I liked it or not! =p

I was preparing a nice post to all the great Sheps of the past few days and I was almost done when I misclicked a link and lost it ALL. :( *facedesk* I don't have the mental fortitude to go back and retype it all, just know I was saying very nice things about all your Sheps. Next time I'm typing it up in Notepad or something and then paste it in when it's done.

I do want to reply to a couple things...

demos99 wrote...

Technical question: should the renegade scarring port into ME3 automatically? Only as you can see they haven't in those tests. At the point I'm importing from I've 929 Renegade points and 791 Paragon points, but only 87 and 74 points respectively in ME3, which I assume is 'normal' Will I have to 'earn' more renegade points in ME3 for the scars to come back? (I didn't/haven't purchased the cosmetic surgery upgrade in ME2 btw.) :crying:

The scars do not import from ME2, no. But as long as you haven't had the scars repaired in ME2, as you said you haven't, they will return over time in ME3 as you earn more Renegade points.

They DO import in a ME3 NG+, however.

That is exactly what I'm using in my submission to the FemShep.com fanfic contest as the reason for Kendra's scars fading.

Thanks all, for the kind words on Maria. Almost done with the Suicide Mission pics, then it's the post-SM missions and then on to ME3 pics! Clicken to embiggen.

Thread explosion! So many great pics and write ups. I'm still jealous of ELE's photoshoping skills...Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post twenty pages ago, give or take.

Edit: For those with crashing browsers are y'all using fire fox? Since I last updated the flash player it keeps crashing FF even when I'm reading an all text website. I finally got fed up with the sucker and switched to a different one.

I left a comment on the main page for the facial texture mod I've been using //social.bioware.com/project/8405/#files] here [/url] about the shiny face issue and Kani kindly diluted the reflections. It looks great!

The Geth Consensus is foreign and yet, as I open my eyes and view this new world, I am not a stranger. I die, have died. I am reborn, have been! None of this is real as I can define it. All that I see and feel with my senses are provided for me by an apparition that appears to be my friend. Are we friends now? Why does he still wear my armor? My consciousness is in Legion's hands now.

I have done dumber things.

I think it's pretty obvious which choice she made. I will make it work for her, but for myself as the player? From a pure rational point of view it's a pretty good ending. But emotionally... I'm glad for Berlitz and Liara that they can have their little blue children, but dammit, I can't stop thinking about EDI and the Geth. I guess it's just a too large of a price to pay for me -- I'd rather sacrifice myself than them. As a result, I'm sitting here, typing this, and feeling completely unfulfilled. I haven't seen Refuse and Control yet, but after Synthesis I was happy... satisfied. Can't say the same now.

Oh well, at least I gave it a chance. And if I really can't live with the death of EDI and the Geth, then I will just have to headcanon a way for them to be rebuilt... or start a new playthrough.

@raz -- Firefox, aye. I don't deal with crashes frequently, but I did have too many tabs open and something in the background locked me up.

@Rik -- I'm just playing devil's advocate here since you're struggling with destroy vs synthesis. Since asaris usually outlive their mates by centuries, I would guess that on some level, Liara's more prepared for the inevitable, especially if Shepard went with synthesis. And she's a smart cookie. She figured out a way to get Shepard back by turning the body over to Cerberus. What's to say that she won't figure out how to recapture Shepard in some form again, especially with her potential immortality and unlimited evolution at this point? ;)

Well, I'm not so much struggling with Destroy vs Synthesis as I am trying to like Destroy. Because I already love Synthesis, no matter how much I'm "letting the Reapers win" or "making the same choice as Saren would have". Of course, I picked Synthesis in a playthrough in which I romanced Liara for the first time in ME3; Berlitz had a relationship with her ever since the events of ME1. That actually the biggest reason why I choose Destroy: if one of my Shepards would survive, it best be the one that really, really, really had something to live for.

You're right about Asari lifespans, though. And you know, what made things much more easier for me, during my previous playthrough, was the chance to say a final goodbye. That's what it felt like, seeing Liara leave with the Normandy while Shepard stayed behind in London. And I think Liara knew it too.

Hadn't thought about Kasumi and Keiji, by the way. Good point! Perhaps it's possible for Shepard to survive in some way -- hell, there's always that VI... a seven percent chance to succesfully predict what the real Shepard would say? Hey, it's better than nothing.

@ LadyAly: Well, I'm not completely done with her yet, I still need to formally tie up her story. I'm thinking of an epilogue in which she reflects on the last part of her journey (i.e. the part after Rannoch that I haven't written yet). But yeah, other than that, no more new canon stuff for Berlitz. Maybe that's why I'm not happy with the ending: it means I have to say goodbye to probably my most personal Shepard to date.

Great shots of Mel, by the way! I love the last one. It's probably coincidental, but it almost looks like she's having fun... in a "you're going down, sucker!" kinda way.

@LadyAly, Armor or the causal outfit? Armor, no its completely vanilla. Causal outfit is added with this modded coalesced. Sagequeen also has a more in depth blog about adding more outfits in the game. However the one I use is very low res, I had a friend fix it a bit for me. Its still not actually finished. She just did a few quick fixes to make it a bit better. She hasn't offically releast the texmod since its unfinished. But here are comparison shots.
