Lots of updates!

and good ones, of course. I will comment/reply soon, but for now, priority to the story! (Razviolet is overtaking me, crap...)

Long post is long, and sorry about picspam :innocent:
---------------
In due time, the Normandy flew to the Perseus Veil to meet with the Quarians. Hoping that she could use their help in the war in Citadel Space, Kyla instead discovered that they had launched a full scale assault on the Geths, and, as a consequence, the Geths had allied with the Reapers.
She could not be less enraged. She had a few friends within the Quarians, and in general she despised the racist attitude that a lot of species and people had about the Quarians; they deserved the same respect as any intelligent life. But, that did not forbid her to harbour a deep resentment against them. Each time she had to work with them, she felt that the Quarians were doing everything that was within their reach to pile mistakes and unwarranted moves. This became clear, once again, when she hosted the Quarian leadership on the Normandy. There was dissent among the admirals, but whatever they said, they
had agreed to a war... and now, they were counting on Kyla to solve their problems!
She did not take gloves with them, and clearly laid down her feelings, that the attack against the Geths was a massive mistake and that it could very easily lead to the extinction of the Quarians. And of course, that they had pushed the Geths in the Reapers' arms, despite all the efforst Kyla had taken the past year to reform the Heretic faction and allow the Geths to live in peace. Paradoxaly, the ambiance onboard the ship that day was more electric than when Kyla hosted the Turian-Salarian-Krogan summit, a meeting it was difficult to top-up in terms of aggressivity and names calling...

Fortunately, there was Tali. The gentle, sometimes ackward, but immensely competent Tali. At times, when her mind wandered, Kyla considered that Tali and Vakarian were actually quite similar. She entertained the thoughs that they could have been together, had she not already grabed the Turian. No jealousy here, hopefully. Nonetheless, Kyla was happy that her friend was here to avoid her opinion on the Quarians sinking to the depths... A wise decision not to expose her father's failure to the admirals' board the previous year...

Having agreed to help the Quarians and well hoping that they would withdraw their fleet to focus on the actual ennemy, Kyla organised a stealth approach onto the Geth dreadnought that appeared to be the centre of Reaper's control over the Geth armada. By that day, she was completely
blasée of the fantastic capability of her ship: who could claim to be able to drop out of FTL and navigate in the
very middle of a battle involving thousands of ships and remain undetected?

Boarding the Geth ship was not going to be easy. They had to spacewalk to an entrance port to take advantage of the only breach the Quarians bombardment had managed to inflict upon the massive ship.
Spacewalking. Years ago, she had considered it a rather fun experience. Well, maybe not during the extended N7 training missions where they had to remain for several days in their sealed armours in low gravity. But, usually, it was pretty fun. Until one specific day...

She found herself checking the air intake more than what was appropriate. The view was simply amazing, walking slowly with Rannoch in all its majesty, and with the lights of the gigantic battle flashing all around her. But, she clearly remembered that day, 3 years ago, when after having been ejected from the Normandy's wreck, she felt the pressure in her suit lowering. She remembered her heart racing, pounding. She remembered gesturing in panick, trying to do something... Nothing could have saved her.
Her heart pounded so hard it almost burst out of her chest when she almost lost her grip on the docking tube.
Floating in space... no! no! I can't allow that! not again...She regained her grip and proceeded to the end of the tube with haste, having completely chased away any interest in her surrounding. All she wanted was to step into that ship, and fast. That it was an ennemy, Reaper-controlled dreadnought mattered little.
I made it...
The progression within the dreadnought was not easy, but what could realistically oppose a team featuring the two human Spectres? The fought their way to the vessel's core only to discover that Legion was used as the relay to broadcast the Reapers' signal.
Legion... Kyla had been saddened to see him (or
it, as the others always corrected her) go after they completed their mission against the Collectors. Thanks to Legion, she had came to appreciate the Geths and value their quest for understanding organic life and peaceful (if distant) coexistance. That was a long way from the sentiment she harboured during her early N7 and Spectre career...
Considering species as a whole, Kyla had better feelings about the Geths than the Quarians. The Geths were not unstable, and despite allying with the Reapers, she could not consider them as traitors. Quarians irredentism and revanchism had pushed them to extremes, as Legion himself would confirm later. However, she knew perfectly well that she had to stop the now-corrupted Geths. From the moment she learned that the Reapers had taken control of them, she had hoped that there was a way to save the Geths from the Reapers and end this idiotic war without the annihilation of either faction... Seeing Legion free of corruption gave her hope it might be possible.
Kyla fell a lot during the mission, as if fate had decided to play with her guts that day...
