1. I figure the Catalyst hasn't developed because it hasn't had the need to adapt to changing circumstances. EDI, by partial design, was made to interact with and grow, while Starbrat is merely the User Interface, and intended to see maybe 1 person after it's creator.

So it the difference between R2D2 and a Roomba.

2. To Renee, the Normandy is an extension of her. Hearing "Normandy, Arriving", and, "Normandy, Departing" are symbols that she's a very successful professional. One of her cold comfort thoughts on re-entry, "They can't court-martial me if I'm dead."

I never thought of that - a sophisticated VI...very plausible. Could explain the cyclic carnage.

@meonlyred: Yes, Kaidan indeed *coughs* <3

@SaturnRing: Hah, Javik does look a little angry in that pic. "She's right behind me, thinking I will turn around and reproach her feelings, disgusting. But I can't say anything because she is my commander."  *puts on troll face*

@Bowie Hawkins: I remember that Starbrat does show some sort of regret at the thought of Shep taking his place when he speaks of control, but mortality still doesn't seem like something he could feel. The problem is he was introduced so late into the game that I have no insight into the Catalyst's character. I have no attachment, good or bad, to this thing controlling the reapers and it cheapens the end, making it anticlimatic. It would have been more interesting if the Illusive man had managed to become the catalyst before Shepard got there and it was him, corrupted by the machines, that would be arguing with shepard.

@raziel1980: Thanks! You won't have to wait any longer, simply scroll down...

Gabby! I love her armor in the pic with Joker.

@Sinapus: FF is blocked? What blasphemy is this?

@LadyAly: Thanks!

And I finally figured out Chiara was solely yours through a *ahem* PM from a certain someone. Sorry I got confused :crying:.

@demos99:  "Synthesis seemed too pat-happy"  Hah, so true. I'm glad to see Jennifer stuck with Control as cannon. Synthesis makes me want to gag and yet...*see bottom*

@Riot86:  "But after importing my character to ME 3 I was shocked that my Femshep didn't look like she did in the first two games, even though her ME 3 identity code matches the one I got from ME 2. "

Bioware tried to fix this issue with a patch but it's not fool proof. The best thing you can do is change the features while eyeballing a ME2 pic.

*dies at the awesomeness of the Jane reincarnations*

Edit: Sorry for the funky picture sizes, I seriously have no idea what i'm doing when it comes to photoshoping...

Whelp, Mercy has gone out with a bang, as expected, and the route she went was unexpected, even for me. But first...have some Shavik. I don't know why I'm suddenly liking this pairing so much
Image IPB
Image IPB

And for the end, poor mercy had her hair burned off as well as her armor, but she sucked it up...
Image IPB

and hobbled towards the synthesis beam. It was the first time I had seen the EC synthesis and i still seriously don't like, but for her it worked, in a twisted way.
Image IPB

If you want to know my particular feelings on the ending (through Mercy's eyes) you can read it in the last section of this link. Prisoners of War's Design Also, I think I changed the catalyst for the better, and I can almost promise that you won't want to throw a book at my head for it. I would like to know y'alls opinions on this idea too. I really wish this had been the final 'villian'. and...the first half has some Shavik fluff, of course.

And Last but not Least *drum roll* I've been working on Mercy's video tribute for the last week and it's finally finished, along with her one-shots. Mercy Shepard Tribute - World on Fire ;) Click it! *puppy dog eyes* I figured out how to upload it in 1080HD too.

He didn't feel it exactly the way that a person would, but after countless milennia of existing, the concept of Soon I Shall No Longer Be has got to be at least a little daunting.

Loving Prisoners Of War's Design, btw. :)

I agree.  i'll keep exploring though; probably because of how much i've invested in my character

Agreed. At this point I'm finishing ME stuff 'for Kyrie,' odd as that probably sounds. Don't think I'd bother if I hadn't gotten so invested in the character.

I'm in the exact same seat, the only reason why i still got the games on my harddrive is to finish up stuff with Sarah and just spend time with MY character. If i hadn't gotten so attatched to her i wouldn't do all of this and i wouldn't care as much as i do about everything related to her, the endings and all that stuff. She's just too important to me to let go just yet

I still need to get my various Sheps through ME2. Meanwhile I'll get distracted by ME3 MP, and let you guys drag me into Gold matches or something.

@razviolet: So is YouTube. I get the feeling the people who sign my paycheck want me to... er, work.

@SaturnRing  Thx - but ... "This image or video has been moved or deleted" :o
This thread moves to fast for me to see even the Pics...

@demos99 Some nice shots from the different endings.

@JamieCOTC See the reasons, but hope still to see some more of UJ. SHe is such a beautiful, unique person.

And to be a bit more on topic, femshep
question: What is your femshep's relationship to the Normandy?  Is it
"her" ship or just a vessel to get her from mission to mission?

For most of my Sheps ME1 its a long time just *Anderson's* Ship, but it grows to her very fast. The Moment in ME2 when Joker and the Cerberus Normandy appear its just .. *finally at home* and in ME3 her bond is strong.
The statement "Thats why you grounded me and my ship" (( i am not sure if this is thecorrect sentence, but I'm pretty sure she is saying MY )) tells a lot about her feelings towards the Normandy.
@JaneShepard :wub: Love ALL your Shepards

@Tup3xi Even cuties like Tiia coming to the end of story. The Pic with the starbrat is amazing

@razviolet Oh my - Hands down - I love the Vid <3 and even better was the story Prisoners of War's Design
absolutely awesome. I will miss her :crying:
And no need for appologize  So much posters - so no need to be sorry ;)

@meonlyred LOL - Just LOL. My co-worker looked very mistrustfully to my room  :D

Chiara freed Legion, gave the quarian bastard a good beating along with throw him out of the Normandy and had some argue with Javik

I do NOT throw Legion out of the air lock Javik... final word !!

I have a question/observation. I made several remarks related to singularity, expressing how i feel about it. Then there's  Singularity as a theory/concept. I personally view singularity as the pinnacle of synthetic life: awareness of oneself existing and choosing as an individual - only applicable in my view to EDI and the Geths. I kept the Reapers out of it because indoctrination made it (singularity) impossible to achieve - at least in my mind.
I'm curious to know what do you refer to when mentioning Singularity as a concept/theory? sage made several mentions of it too. I'm just not sure if i've been using that term in its appropriate context.

As I understand it, the technological singularity is the event in which machines/synthetics overtake humans/organics in the race of evolutionary supremacy. They will acquire a super intelligence beyond human understanding.

In precis, the technological singularity is the point where AI advances beyond human comprehension (and continues advancing, it’s generally held). The metaphorical name singularity is a reference to black holes—no information escapes the event horizon of a black hole (within which a singularity lies).

Anderson was a friend of the family as well as Hannah's dad's CO, so he became a father figure to her after her dad was killed by the Batarians. So when she was given command of what she thought of as "his ship", it was like a child wearing a parent's shoes at first. By the end of the first game, though, it was her ship - but more importantly, it was her home. Losing it to the collector attack at the beginning of ME2 hurt every bit as much as someone seeing the house they grew up in burn down, although it didn't really start to sink in until the downtime between her escape from Lazarus station to the base where she was given the SR2 allowed her to start thinking about everything she'd lost in her two missing years. If anything she loves the SR2 Normandy more than the SR1, because it may have been a Cerberus vessel, but (aside from Joker) it was the first thing that restored any sense of normality back to her existence.

This. yes. It's really hard to make a decision when the concept is introduced out of the blue. Hence why the heretic station decision always threw me. Whoa, wait, the geth aren't all under Reaper control. oh, wait, now you can turn them 'back' at will? is that possible? is that ethical? is that practical? makes it hard to know what to do there. ending is similar, but oh so much trickier. at least i knew a little bit about legion going in to the other decision and had been fighting geth for a while. i agree - another 'face' on the catalyst might have made more sense. i actually wanted to talk to harbinger again ... and take him down.

The Normandy SR-1 and SR-2 are the two single ships that Sarah actually want to be on. Prior to the SR-1 Sarah never spent more time than she absolutely had to on ships, she just didn't like being in a so tight enviroment when she can be on a planet with all the space that offer. It's her colonist roots talking right there. However it all changed with the SR-1. It might've been a tight ship but it was her ship and as she started to get along with the crew on it stuff started to change. It was also after talking with Tali she realised that the Normandy was the closest thing she had to a home in her life and that is the turning point. It's no longer just a vessel, it's not only her ship. It's her home and she will defend it with her life, none will be able to take it away from her.

Interesting question. I think the SR1 is just a ship as far as Jennifer is concerned, given that it was originally built 'for' Anderson. Plus, it's Alliance property so ultimately belongs to the Alliance (it's pretty much the reason why Jennifer Redux doesn't deny Mikhailovich access to the ship). The SR2, on the other hand, feels more like it was built for her and certainly by the end of ME2 she feels it's 'her' ship rather than TIM's, which is why she hands it over to the Alliance when she returns to Earth post-Arrival. I'm not sure it ever becomes her home however; I think she's not really had a stable home for a long, long time, which is why in my headcanon it's important that post-Reaper War she and Liara settle down somewhere to raise their family. Only then does she feel she's finally 'come Home'. (Btw, I've just decided to headcanon the theory that Jennifer is declared KIA by the Alliance after the Crucible is activated, otherwise I'm sure they'd only want to rope her into helping rebuild the galaxy and negoitiating treaties and stuff. :D)

Bowie Hawkins wrote...Anderson was a friend of the family...

I've always thought it strange that in ME1 Shepard doesn't seem to know who Anderson is at all and has to be told who he is, even though she's just been assigned as his XO on his new ship. I've presumed, based on their relationship throughout the series, that she must have known him pre-ME1 (context dependent on Shepard's background, of course). I understand that the information is more for the benefit of the player but that sort of info-dump is one of the things which merely serves to remind me I'm playing a computer game.

Interesting one... I'd say that it's neither, more like something in between. In the end ship is just a ship and the people who work there matter the most. It's definitely not her ship but it feels like home so it's not just any ship.

I might do a few minor tweaks like change her hair color/style, but I'm fairly happy with the way she turned out.

The Quarians drove me insane. I love the writing behind their story. They really make u feel things. I see that Chiara didn't let them mess around with her.

@lillitheris: thanks for the additional info.

@demos99: i thought the same about Anderson; He's probably been an N7 operator himself for a while; I attribute  the questioning to Shepard's inquisitive nature. Always digging for more.
