I tried Sagequeen complexion modding, and here is the result:

I do not see that much difference, but overall the skin looks slightly less smooth. It could also be that the lightning on the citadel is too "strong". The eyes appears slighty deeper, and there's something going on around the nostrils...
Huh... yeah.... that's weird.
Okay, I'm just going to point out that the FIRST time I tried that modding hack, it TOTALLY didn't work. but then it did the second time. I'm trying to remember what i did differently. I *think* I failed to add in the additional mask field - like, I only replaced the normal mapping and not any of the other stuff. that didn't work. I really had to replace ALL the relevant fields and put in the additional normal mask .... oh, and I bumped up the HED_SPwr_Scalar <--- that reacted a lot better to the new normal than it did to the old normal.
But hey, it may not work for everyone. I just know of the Shepards I've seen it often can make a difference. but it's not like i've tested it on...anyone but kyrie.

I got a question for everyone (myself included): why would our femsheps be wearing makeup?
Because in the future, it's easier to appy it:

Also, because without makeup in ME1 and ME2, the eyelashes stick out at weird angles to the lid - they're sticking straight out of the lid at an angle, not from the bottom of the lid like actual eyelashes do. If you have a pale-skinned shep, this is especially noticeable. if you have a blonde shep, it just looks freakish, also because the lashes are BLACK and they look too full to be normal. to conceal the weird black lashes sticking out at the weird angle, you have to at least us eye makeup 7 (the default, just a thin line of eyeliner) to hide the 'seam' between the lash and the lid. frankly, bumping up the makeup looks even better, though it may not be realistic.
^ that, imo, is the real reason why. me, i wear as little makeup as i can possibly get away with (meaning my femshep...though actually, that's true of me irl, too), but i felt i had to put some on just so she looked natural. funny thing, that.

There's what? Already 1000+ story variables they took into account (according to CHud at least.) I think they kind of painted themselves into a corner with how many ways things can be achieved in the previous games. Miranda's alive? Well you must have done her loyalty mission!
I am reminded of a line from the documentaries for the LOTR DVDs (why yes, i watched them all....three times...why do you ask?)
viggo mortenson points out that in Return of the King, Tolkien said of the book that he'd incurred such huge 'narrative debts' that he had to make everything a LOT more complicated before he could clean it up.
Frankly, I think Mass Effect did the same - incurred MASSIVE narrative debts - in the 2 previous games. Sadly, I do not think they paid their debts, and instead tried to get out of a lot of their self-imposed complications. Some of the sequences are amazing - just as they should be, imo. The VS stuff is a bit off in terms of pacing, but it's DAMN good stuff. Rannoch, Tuchanka - brilliant. But there are a LOT of other things (Thane *cough*, Jacob *cough*, the END *cough*) that were so hurried that it's just a crying shame.

Thanks for noticing me. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie] I figured out my current issue of new outfits and armor, but hoping to move on to hair and makeup next so I might be back. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]
ask away. we'll help if we can. goodness knows i've bugged ottemis and ELE a bazillion times with modding questions. they're awesome about it.
@ Tup/ELE:
I WANT THIS TOO. I feel like I tweet @masseffect at least once a week pestering them for this. Seriously. All you who are on twitter should join me in that.

and speaking of makeup, here's kyrie with her wildly too-dark eyelashes

seriously. the game gives you the equivalent of a full set of falsies. she's got like, kardashian-style lashes going on there.
