That was my biggest fear with Bioware paying more attention to femShep. They would alter her appearance to be more "feminine" and "sexy" and give her gear drastically different from manShep simply because she was female.
The default is certainly attractive, but fierce and powerful looking.

If I'm not mistaken, it's actually a structural weakness in the armor.
Because you have a concave point right at your breastbone, it's weaker than a convex structure (like lady hawke's). If you took a major blow to the chest (like a warhammer or a rocket) it could buckle inward and crush your sternum.
I'm basing that off of blogs I've read like this one. It comes down to a solid, outwardly bent piece of metal/heavy plastic/whatever will take any pressure outward, but boob armor creates an unnecessary seam that could fold in on itself.
I've always found that blog funny when people pull it out in this arguement. Right after the blogger points out how boob armor can have a structural weakness, they say Mass Effect did a good job with the female armor.
The way the cheastpiece is designed is well spread and is not resting directly on the sternum. It isn't as drastic as the example the blogger posted previously.
As you say and what I think the blogger was pointing out, it is heavy duty and well protecting gear.
The blogger also shows an example of Hilde from Soul Calibur who also has a simliar chest piece as femShep, and says that it is a good example.
*snip*
This blogger clearly has exceptions to the rule about the shapes of breasts in armor.
yeah, that's true. heh.
i guess there are ways of arguing that femshep's armor doesn't have that weakness. but on the whole, i feel that boob armor is mostly there for looks. there's not really a whole lot of point in having spots for your boobs to go in when dodging bullets.
buuut....maybe that's just my thinking. i don't do a lot of bullet dodging, and femshep does, so... ./shrug

Oh, I guess I better introduce (re-introduce?) my Shepard here, too, since there's a large batch of new faces added to the old batch from the ME2 forum femShep thread.
Jessica Shepard: Earthborn War-Hero Infiltrator. Paragade and Liaramancer.
... who uses Face 8 and who I specifically tried to make as NON-pretty yet realistic-looking as possible (she was really an experiment to see if I could make a successful face using Complexion 2, which nobody ever uses). I'll probably use them to investigate variations on some of the major decisions and their impact on ME3, but I've become so used to hearing Hale's Shepard-voice paired with Jessica's face that it's hard for me to play any other version.

That's pretty much how Deirdre ( also infiltrator and planing to stay as such ) fairs up. She does manage to max out on either re/pa depending on my mood.Kyrene wrote...
Also, recently, alignment was once again discussed. As I mentioned before (perhaps in the old thread), Kassia surprised me by not following the path I had set her up to follow (she was supposed to be exactly like my earlier playthrough, just with a few cosmetic tweaks and a name change). However, she ended up like this:
I'm also happy with her build and she will apparently import with exactly that level and skills if she remains an Infiltrator in ME3. Not that I think there won't be a respec tool built into the game like there was in ME2, so it might not matter much anyway.
And now I probably should go climb back into bed... My wife's in Ethiopia for a fortnight, and I have to do double parent duty. Can't really do that if I get any worse.
Shepard' s underarmor follows the dragon skin ( Miranda suit ) pattern designed specifically to spread kinetic energy resulting from a single point of impact, evenly over her whole body. Even her breast plate pattern kinda hint in that direction - although not conclusively.sagequeen wrote...

Also, unless you are massively endowed in the chest area, there's not really a need to slip your boobs into separate molded-plastic sockets. just sayin'

Well you do know something more now. You know that SPOILER's sex may be relative to Shepard's sex. And this thread is 100% spoiler free (says so, right there in the title). So red erred on the side of too much caution.Battlepope190 wrote...
In regards to the "spoiler", what's the big deal? I just read it and I don't know anything more than I did before reading...did I miss something?
