@AVPen: Hannah was playing poker with the marines her dad served with from about age twelve, so she knows a thing or two about how to avoid that Shep's fate. Cannot stop laughing about Liara's cameraphone, though... XD

There is so much right about this. My life has been changed for the better by this.

this has to be one of my favorite put-femshep-in-a-classic-pose pictures EVER. and not just because garrus looks awesome in a waistcoat. but that's a lot of the reason right there.

guuuuh. I HATE the rachni decision. That is truly the one that I still can never quite decide what my femshep would do - even though i know the outcome doesn't really matter. i feel like it's a total toss-a-coin moment for kyrie. even though i always *think* she'll nuke the bug, when i get to that moment, i always find myself letting the queen go.

'cause if i could have i know what she WOULD have done is go by the book: leave the bug in the jar, call the council to come deal with it.

Posted Image

"Nuuugh, this again."

Do other people feel the same way about that decision? I always end up feeling like at the moment, it seems completely evil to kill her, but when I leave, I instantly regret not doing it. Hrm... maybe that's just me.

Oh no - its always a special point for my Sheps. Kayleigh just saw in her a annoying complication and killed her. Reyna on the other hand couldn't destroy the last of a species - and Chiara was complete feeling like Kyrie.
I think it depends on the background and character the Shep has - but I agree - it has only the impact that the Queen will help build the Cruicible - if that has any meaning.

I always let her go. My Shepard's are a no genocide kind of family, unless that means screwing over Balak because the Batarian government has been a pain in the ass for longer than humans have been space faring.

I tend to let the queen go for better screenshot opportunities in ME 3 when I actually do decide to kill her off n keep Arlack Company as a war asset.

QFT.

I totally let her die in ME3, yeah. Here I'd agonized about the decision back in ME1 and then I was all like, "Dude. You got yourself huskified? <sigh> Sucks to be you."

As they say, "Get captured by forces bent on using you for destructive purposes once, shame on you; get captured by forces bent on using you for destructive purposes twice... eh, screw it. I'm saving my old friend Grunt instead."

Anja let the queen go because she believes in second chances. Sometimes to a fault.

Naomi is literally like... two rooms away from making that decision, but I'm pretty sure she's gonna nuke the queen. She doesn't like leaving loose ends, and letting the Rachni run off is a pretty big loose end. And she killed the Thorian, and to her, that set a precedent for killing ancient, fascinating creatures because they posed a threat.

I had problems with the Rachni decision to right after i completed my last ME1 playthrough back in October last year. Directly after i completed the game i instantly knew that Sarah's choice would always be to kill the queen. Allowing dangerous space bug to survive goes against all her instincts and Sarah don't trust a word that comes from bugs. They're nasty suckers after all. So if i complete a canon playthrough i will correct this decision and stop me from intervening again

In ME3 i will always pick Grunt and Arlakh Company. Saving HUGE giant bugs that has been captured by the Reapers even more go against her instincts and with the queen compromised due to her being captured she's going to be a liability for Sarah and in the war she need assets that she know won't stab her in the back. Grunt will not let Arlakh even think about betraying her.
Sarah is so very cynical about the whole deal but that's how she's lived so long.

Clearly not amused by the turn of events

Posted Image
I'm not sure if Sarah has ever been more proud over anyone than she was for Grunt in that moment. Her own Krogan baby is all grown up and may someone have mercy on the Rachni because her Grunt won't

Posted Image
Grunt if you ever do that to me again and make me think you died i will be very unamused. Big hearts to the my Krogan <3

I've gone either way with the Bug Queen. She's been killed and saved, but it's depended on how I'm playing the character.

And Sagequeen's thoughts are about mine anyhow. If you get mind controlled that easy. . .

UJ lets the Queen go in ME1, but it's not an easy decision. Ultimately it comes down to the possibility for needing allies. The Queen's well being, while important, is secondary. The same goes for the Geth. Rewriting the Geth was the hardest decision she ever made outside of Virmire. Though she considered it unethical to rewrite them, the need for possible allies was greater. She even tells Legion she does not regret the choice, which surprises him. Though typically a Paragon, UJ doesn't always play it safe, though the "holier than thou" chip on her shoulder doesn't help.

In ME3, UJ lets the Queen go w/out hesitation. She needs allies and she has to take the risk.

So you're punishing the queen for going into seclusion and then the reapers finding her secluded space and imprisoning her while they indoctrinated her children? Yikes, that's incredibly harsh.

Perhaps it's harsh. It's more a matter of not taking the time to save a single civilian (and her children, sure, but mostly 1 civilian) at the expense of an entire military squadron (of battle-hardened krogan, no less) when in the middle of a war. i find the soldiers more valuable than the queen.

Hannah originally planned to hit the kill switch, but Liara's arguments against genocide swayed her.

I wasn't sure till the last minutes which end will feel right for her - but she was a soldier, tough and never let anything compromise her decisions. Only Destroy gave her the feeling to do the right thing.
