@everyone--I LOVED the smirk comparisons. FemShep's smirk is one of my favorite things about her!
@Verly--I love Penny! I'm fond of your dwarf av, too... I think we have similar tastes in facial features, but I also think your Shepards are really unique.
@Hyper_gateway--Those blue mods are gorgeous! Very sharp.
@JECWSU--Vivian's stunning and cool.
@Aislinn--Heheh, I'm the same way--I too have exactly 12 Shepards in ME2 at the present time! I haven't played through them all yet, only 5 are truly finished, but I just love playing with the CC. ME2 was SUCH a headache before Gibbed, though; ugh... all those restarts just to change the cheek width a tiny bit and see if that looks better in the first mission, only to decide upon seeing Miranda that something else needed fixing! It was enough to drive a person crazy!
@Captain Crash--"Losing My Heart" is really excellent Shepard/Kaidan artwork. Thanks for sharing.

I am always fascinated how much the hair changes the look of a character.
You know, me too... it really is amazing. In real life, not just in the game. One small change to the hair can do so much for a face.

I actually want to ask about this one. What do people think of the "tank top" or "bra" look the paint pattern makes?
Honestly, I didn't like it. I don't know what with Male Shep it's not like that at all, but I prefer in for Maleshep, but not Femshep.
I might be in the minority here, but I actually liked that. For Eo, I always pictured her as having a bit more boob than the average FemShep--part of why she likes the sniper rifle; you hold the scope up to your eyes, unlike a shotgun or assault rifle where your boobs could get in the way a bit. Ryla on the other hand I saw as fairly flat-chested and skinnier than average, wiry; perfect for holding her shotguns and assault rifles at the optimal height, no problem firing from the hip, so the different paint patterns and armor shapes let me emphasize the bust for one and downplay it for the other. I liked that as an aid to roleplay.
Did anyone else think about that before? The gun/boob equation and how it could affect FemShep's choice of class? Or am I just kinda overthinking it?

Well in any case, I like Mass Effect's boob armor because the chest is at least covered up and it's positioned at a realistic height--there's no stupid pushed-up cleavage begging, "SHOOT/STAB ME HERE!" Plus it's a space-age material. If this were a medieval universe, the metal should be in the optimal shape; here, it doesn't necessarily help as much as you'd expect, so I don't mind if the armor is shaped to fit its occupant. At least the top piece looks thicker than the bottom piece.
I guess my perspective is, "it's at least 75% closer to functional than in 99.9% of games--I'll take it!"

A further treatise on the weakness and impracticality of "boob armor"... http://l-clausewitz....com/384382.html
Just for my two cents.
"So all but the largest breasts can be bound quite flat against the woman's chest[/b] without occasioning too much discomfort."

Is that really true for most women? Because for me, that hurts! Admittedly, I have my grandmother's figure, so I can't say that I don't fit the category they're talking about. But I can't imagine FemShep's chest not hurting from being bound for hours at a time while she's running, slamming into things... I would think that would hurt like hell, actually! Although, there should really be some padding on the other side to prevent bruising, surely... maybe it wouldn't hurt if they were bound as long as there's a thick enough cushion in between armor and boob.
*starts imagining armor crash and impact tests, complete with bruises, chafing...* You know, this is actually pretty fascinating to think about. Working for Kassa Fabrication or something like that could be a little bit like living an episode of Mythbusters! I wonder how they do research. It would be cool if FemShep could help test some kind of experimental mod, armor, and/or weapon in ME3. I would think the endorsement of the savior of the galaxy would be brilliant during wartime.
You know, come to think of it, you really shouldn't have to buy anything in ME3! Companies should vie for Shepard's attention and donate their stuff in the hopes that she'd use it. "I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite boomstick in the galaxy!"

I thought this too; I'm pretty sure at the end of Arrival Hackett says something about dress blues, and for a few seconds I had fantasies about my War Hero Shepard looking all awesome with her Star of Terra pinned on.
*wistful smile* Me, too... that would've been frickin' awesome. Maybe the trailer FemShep isn't a War Hero? *grasps at straws* Well, at least there's mods... maybe we'll be able to Gibb up some sweet dress blues complete with medals after a while.

I always sacrifice Kaiden. Ash is interesting. Kaiden's just boring too me. I tryed to get to know him, I really did, but I just couldn't.
Maybe you feel different about him, I'm just saying what I do.
Same here, he just came across as such a weak character (to me) in the first one and as he had a small accident on Virmire in all my playthroughs I have no idea what he's like in ME2. I could relate better with Ashley so I kept her around.
I had two versions of my first playthrough; one with Ash, one with Kaidan, the latter mostly for the sake of getting laid. Personality-wise, I liked Ash better than Kaidan or Liara, to begin with. Both grew on me over time.
With Kaidan, I was partly prejudiced by his voice (CARTH! What are you doing in Mass Effect?! PARADOX! Heh, Raphael Sbarge just has such a distinctive voice...); it was hard for me to separate who Kaidan was from who Carth was. He was just so mild and unassuming in comparison to Carth, whereas Ash was fun and said cool things like, "A million light years from where humanity began, and we walk into a bar full of half-naked women shaking their asses on a stage. I can't decide if that's funny or sad." She was like an awesome sister. I still hate Virmiring her SO much.
I do find Ash more relatable, still. But Kaidan grew on me. He's so much more fun when you're Renegade. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure of you serving under me..." "Well, I walked right into that one, didn't I?" He's still no ungrateful monkey-lizard, but he is a character, and one worth saving.
I think everyone should have at least one playthrough with their non-typical VS. I hear the content for the VS in ME3 is pretty extensive, and that Kaidan gets a fair bit of character development--enough that even those who didn't like him before are in some cases completely converted. I'm looking forward to it. He's already grown on me to the point where I'd say I like him, and ME3 could end up making me love him. I'm stoked to find out.
