@LadyAly: she is tough. But i sense some resentment, for men in particular(they better watch out) - probably because of her dad - but what he put her through has made her stronger. Liara seems to understand where she's coming from.

@LadyAly my canon Shep shares the same name with another Shep here (coincidence, I swear :'D ), so I'm not mentioning it to avoid the confusion haha~ I'm really happy you think they're cute too, although Cloe scares me sometimes :D As for the Kaidan notes, I'm happy they helped (I did them partially to satisfy my OC-ness). Also, I love Kayleigh's piercing eyes and her general bad-****ery in Virmire.

My laptop's limitations ups her creepiness

@laikabaws: scarring to me definitely looks good in ME2; though more realistic in ME3, i find it less "attractive"- very scary really. If it makes sense.

I also agree with you :wizard: Checking my renegades' ME3 screenshots, the scarring is more "spidery" and embedded in the skin. They also look more like actual wounds than glowy lines. Also even if you go full renegade, the glowing redness in the irises don't cover it entirely. It's like an evidence of the things that they had to let go--that screams, "this person used to be human...used to care about everything as much as normal people do." :crying:

Blood vessels are also more evident in the whites of the eyes in ME3

My other renegade (a more douche-y one), Freya, as an example

I always thought it was a little odd that people would follow the person who looks like the terminator in a fight against machines… :)

Even the time I tried to play a Renegade (and failed miserably), I used the surgery thing—OOC, not IC. But, to each their own!

It has to be common to see that type of scars. Though most would probably have it remove.

@lilitheris I usually don't do the surgery for the extra gameplay edge (forgot what it was though) without realizing that not opting for surgery is...fitting (IC) for those Sheps. But I used surgery in my replay playthrough of Freya to see the difference :D

For the terminator thing for my renegade Sheps' part, I guess they win followers through that initial face-value intimidation. My renegades, at least superficially, wear the very symbol of war in their faces--forcing people out of their illusions of peace. Seeing Shep that way creates this uncomfortable feeling in people, that they're screwed if they don't follow and that they don't have any other choice but to do so.

I tried the surgery, and it just didn't feel right to me.  At least not with this particular Shepard.  Her scars define her, and she uses every resource that she has available to her advantage.  I can understand why some would choose to remove them, esp. in the ME2, they get pretty gruesome looking.  Anyways, I caught a shot of her actually "smiling"  so thought I would post it up.

Omg, I love your main! *Ahem* that might go back to me having a soft spot for black hair and blue eyes thought. Looking back through your post, I'm sorry did you tell us her name and I just not notice? So tell us, what their names, backgrounds, etc.?

I never resort to surgery as a rule - immersion mostly - cause i too like to think that scarring plays a role in how easy it is to intimidate. For my character it is also a way to bear/accept conscequences for her actions - like a reminder that most of the time there is a price to pay for being uncompromising

@Saerwen: That's pretty much how i see it too.

I always use the surgery, though it is pretty pointless considering that they would go away anyway since my Shep is the shining beacon of light, so to speak. Well, except few interrupts but still.

I could be wrong about this, but Ive always thought scar tissue was weaker then normal tissue and easier to reinjure. Assuming its easy to regenerate normal tissue in the future (the surgury thing is suggested to be a simple, automated procedure), then it would be practical for Shepard to get healed.

@Meonlyred Thanks for the compliment and your interest in my Sheps:wizard: And you're not alone! I just love black hair and blue eyes too much. All my Sheps (except for that "default" unimported Shep I have) are like that (even my Dragon Age Warden and Hawke, sad to say). Boring and uncreative I know, but I just love looking at black hair and blue eyes, which may explain why I adore Sheploo's face too much too...:D

As for their background, I haven't fleshed out characterization as much, but for a breakdown:
My main paragon F!Shep is about 95% paragon 5% renegade (soldier, spacer-sole survivor)
Cloe: My main renegade F!Shep is about 95% renegade 5% paragon (soldier, spacer-ruthless)
Jake: My main paragrade Sheploo is about 60% paragon 40% renegade (soldier, spacer-war hero) haha wrong thread
Freya: My "douche" renegade F!Shep is about 99% renegade 1% paragon (vanguard, earthborn-ruthless)

My two other remaining F!Sheps are vanguards. Forgot background and morality though (fail mommy of Sheps fail). They're primarily made for my banter experiments and curiosity haha. They're named Aria and Aeia (just another deviation of Aria, but later on realize it was the planet Jacob's father got stuck in, woops?)--after a song. My main's name and Cloe are also named from songs. I'm not mentioning my main's name because she has the same name as a Shep here and I don't want to cause confusion . And I have this soft spot for soldiers and vanguards too despite what people make of them~

I will elaborate on their backgrounds eventually (but this post is getting a bit too texty so maybe later hehe), but I headcanon that my three main Sheps (canon, Cloe and Jake) are parallel universe versions of themselves, which explains their sameness of being a spacer, soldier, and hair and eyes. Freya is a possibility--of a "what happens" sort of thing if either one of my main Sheps finally snaps. Freya is named after that Norse goddess, just love the irony related to the name (commonly associated to being the goddess of love and fertility, yet is actually the goddess of death too).

And as for the Kaidan references, thank you for appreciating them. Hope you guys enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed doing them. I just love Kaidan dialogue so much.

@Saerwen and Saturnring I don't disprove of surgery for other Sheps, but I don't do it for mine for those reasons as well (and gameplay~):wizard:

@Saerwen I love your renegade's look. That smile seems like she's plotting something naughty~ And that ending pic, just heartbreaking whether paragon or renegade. They're just trying so hard :crying::crying::crying:

@SaturnRing Resentment is a fair word for the deep animosity she has toward Men.:P

About the discussions with the scarrings - well - it is maybe realistic, but wtf... it must hurt as hell <_< I can't let go my Shep through such a physical hell - she has enough stuff to bear anyway :?
( beside my cheeks start to hurt only from look at it in later state of game )
And lilitheirs has a point there - I find it odd no one is mentioning her scars ... I can accept this fact in ME2 since she was brought back from Cerberus - but in ME 3 ???

Still - I respect people which can play this style - I just can't
The looks of most are badass pure :o

Scar tissue is pretty tough, really. It’s not quite like regular skin. Although in the case of Shepard, it is supposed to be actual regrown skin and the scars aren’t really scars, they are gaps in the skin. The reason they concocted for wanting to include an option for an ‘evil’ look is that this regeneration wasn’t complete, and thus stressors could keep the process from completing.

(Why would it be stressful to act like you naturally do? Wouldn’t it be more stressful for a mean person to try to act nicely? Also, if you can’t even heal skin normally, what about actual wounds? Why do the eyes glow? That will make it harder to process visual data, which is taking light in, not out.)

Anyway, lots of people like the look, so it seems the decision to enable the option was a success.

@KiraVeranoShepard, your Kira is a lovely addition to the Sheps in this thread. Isn't it great when a good artist renders your character? I have some digital art from a friend of a character of mine in a different game that I treasure.

@LadyAly, Great shots of Kayleigh in action! And Kayleigh and Liara, the eye of the hurricane.

@dsprado956, thanks for sharing your Megan Fox Shep. You did a nice job with her.

@laikabaws, a great Shep! I can't believe you needed courage to post here. Your Sheps are stunning.  And a great compilation of Kaidan resources. Also, I'm a big fan of that pink windows border.

I am not a huge fan of the scarring. I think, like some others, Shep turns out looking the Terminator. I can't see how any negotions can be accomplished when the people you're talking too are expecting Shep to ask "Are you Sarah Conner?" or privaely wishing Shep would say, "Ah'll be back." I do like the look on other Shepards though, and I try to see how far I could make it before I couldn't stand it anymore.

Evie in ME2.
Image IPB

Lida in ME3 sports the amount of scaring I can live with. Lida gets away with it mostly because I can't see it because of her hair. There is a bit of meta-gaming in this, but I'm okay with it. I head canon it as the scars were beginning to freaking hurt for Evie and Lida just didn't give a good gosh darn.
Image IPB

Got to play a little Jenny. She took a break on the Citadel with Garrus and visited Eden Prime with Kaidan, her brother. I have to say, I like brother Kaidan as much as I like lover Kaidan. And Garrus is just so sweet. He's become Jenny's rock.

Beauty Beholden. Just needs a big old heart around the happy couple.

@LadyAly I love how menacing she looks when it's time to kick arse, and then how soft she looks with Liara...such an emotion range for Sheps even from ME1 :wizard: Go Kayleigh, kick Udina Reaper arse!

@Ashoken Thank you very much for appreciating my Sheps (haha felt kinda shy, given the ancient-ness of my laptop, and I usually just lurk around here~) and the Kaidan resources! I wanted to be of help to Kaidan fans in some way :)

As for your Sheps, I admire how different they look, and they look tough in their unique ways. My Sheps don't deviate from black hair and blue eyes (they're my weakness :?). Lol at that Liara picture~ I also agree with you; as much as I prefer Kaidan as a lover, he's also a great friend--same for Garrus as well =] Cool armor and casual clothes mods too! And pink windows border FTW!!!

Wow, there've been some amazing Sheps posted here over the last few days.  <3
Here's Kacey, happy and celebrating the fact that she and I got the ME2 Insanity achievement yesterday.  :o

Image IPB
Image IPB

One thing I noticed right away was that 2's insanity is significantly more "insane" than 1's.  I did 'em both with NG+s, and in 1, I died a grand total of 1 time during the entire PT (getting swarmed by Thorian creepers on Feros).  In 2, I died... frequently.  Very frequently, in fact, at least until I got a few of the defensive upgrades researched.

Not gonna do 3 quite yet, but I'm worried about it... even tho I've heard some people say 2's insanity is more difficult.  I'm perfectly fine on normal or veteran until they start dropping multiple banshees on us.  And the very end of that final battle, where the brutes, banshees, and marauders are swarming you, all while a Reaper shoots at you...  On my first PT I actually had to dial it down to casual to get thru that...

April is the only femshep I have w/ scarring. The other got the surgery or are paragons. I understand why people like it, as the scars do look great on some Sheps and I love April's minimalist scarring in ME3. For some it can also be a statement, I suppose.
