@Nyxia Thanks for the appreciation :wizard:, although I'll have to admit she's actually my paragon (95% paragon, 5% renegade). Just got into a pissy mood after the councilors, Anderson stonewalling her, Kaidan missing, and resurrection through Cerberus thing...

But gameplaywse, I sometimes choose renegade options (for paragons) that are badarse and or funny, mostly in ME2 (because ME2 renegade lines are the best)

Well, that was awkward...(and woops, accidental top)

I have other renegades though~

Mayyybe?

Liara's a sweetheart, don't get me wrong. But I seriously prefer Overload (buffed to Neural Shock!) and Reave. Reave + EVERYTHING = awesome

...and this isn't a power that unlocks for the entire game like in ME2, right? I have to have each Shepard gain it via conversations?

Eeep... none of my biotic Sheps saved Kaidan in ME1.

Image IPB

it unlocks for the game, yeah. I just have a specific playstyle i prefer which relies on shep using barrier + default adept crowd-control skills. i bring people to deal with shields, barriers, armor, etc. and Kaidan has stuff to deal with all that, plus he's a freaking tank and pretty much never dies. he and shep are still running around when the other squaddies goes down.

it's barrier, ya know. it GLOWS.

Image IPB

HAWT. Am I the only person who thinks barrier looks super hawt? Hmmmm.... Barrrierrrr....

Kaidan--she has a soft spot for him (the rarer moments she's paragon). She was very very very angry over what happened on Horizon and the situation she's in, but being a practical person, she understood what Kaidan has to do and what she has to do.

Freya, on the other hand, didn't take it very well...:P

I am! Although I don't think any of my character are in position to play immediatly (but Kyla, but that would not make sense to go Leviathan while they are preparing to assault Cerberus' HQ...)

And not sure "proper uniform" would be enough.

I think i can qualify for semi-excited. I'm interested at least but not totally excited about it. It's going to be a very interesting DLC nonetheless and to see what Bioware learned from the overall feedback about ME3. At least the DLC offers rain so it's always something :P

Leviathan....

I feel...underwhelmed by the trailer. ("I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?" "I think you can in Europe.")

Um, yeah. Just really not that interested right now. I guess I'm really not intrigued by gameplay for gameplay alone. Project Overlord had a really interesting bit of insight on the Geth, plus gameplay, plus AMAZING music. If Leviathan has an amazing storyline, really critical decision-making, and some new squaddie dialog, I'd be interested. I kind of doubt those things are forthcoming, but I could be wrong. I'll be curious to see if we learn anything new about the Reapers from this.

As a sort of related question, they've made it abundantly clear that the EC is the only end-of-game DLC they're going to do. Any other DLC happens before London. So does anyone ever wonder what future ME games are going to look like (if there are any?) Considering how WILDLY different the ending scenarios are in the canon game, I just don't see a future game set in the Mass Effect universe - without a major reset switch, that is. What do you think?

Leviathan is coming out a day later in Europe, correct? Should we institute a self imposed ban on pics until the DLC is available to everyone?

One good thing about being on PC is that I'll get to read reviews of the DLC before it comes out. I'll probably buy it, but I'm not incredibly excited over it. Spending time w/ Shepard and her crew again is great, but that's as far as it goes. As for the rain, I'd be more impressed w/ it if Shepard and crew actually got wet while standing around in it.

Only on PS3. PC and Xbox 360 get it the same day as the people in NA

About the question..
Sarah did want to see more places and travel the galaxy but it never was anything that important to her. It was all Mindoir to her. She loved that life too much and the occasional trip to Earth for playing infront of a bigger crowd or meeting with family friends. When she was younger the traveling had it's magic to it but as a veteran assassin and marine she don't want anything but one place that she can call home and stay at for as long as she please.

Agree w/ you on Leviathan.

Future of Mass Effect.  So much has been said, it's hard to pinpoint what is true and what is just rampant speculation. Before ME3 came out, Hudson clearly stated that not only does it end Shepard's storyline, but that there would be no other games past ME3.  Since then the best bet had been on a Mass Effect prequel MMO, but since the disappointment of TOR and the upcoming MMO glut they have backpeddled on that a bit, though still talking in terms of prequel.  BioWare wants to integrate MP into the SP much more in future games. Now there is rumor that any sequels to ME will have synthesis as canon. As far as I can tell this is only speculation and should be treated as such.  Honestly, I’m not so sure BW knows which direction they will take yet.

As for what I want to see personally, as much as I like Mass Effect, the universe is so intertwined w/ Shepard that it’s hard to envision it w/out her. For me, ME was never really about the Reapers or the Geth or whatever, but about Shepard.  Understandably there is wisdom in letting her be and moving on.  I get that. In all honesty I’m in a really weird place, because I think I’m done w/ Mass Effect, but not yet done w/ Shepard.

Invariably, Operations weekends and DLC come out when I'm busy with work. But I did promote five characters (I MP too much) this weekend, so if it fails, it's not my fault! Honest. Leviathan DLC, I'm looking forward to it and I have Jenny poised in a spot where she can just jump right into it, I think. I think I will take her through Rannoch though. Everyone else, it's like I will play it just to see how it plays out gameplay wise with the different classes, but for Asche and Lida and Evie, their stories are told. It won't affect their endings. Unless I run them through again, which I doubt. Although I was going through screens of Asche in ME2 and found I missed her. So who knows!

Amino_amore wrote...

The torso armor is actually the dancer outfit modified via texmod file by athies612. You can get it here. After that, you'll need to modify your coalescd.bin to make the look available in the weapons locker. There are various guides around on how to do that.

Barrier and Defensive Matrix are hawt. No question.

If there is a game set after the events of ME3, they will have to pick a canon ending. It does seem that synthesis is the way they are leaning. It's not a deal breaker for me. I'm pretty tolerant and can work a character around any scenario because it won't be about my Shepard or anyones. The problem is we are attached to our Shepards. It is difficult to break away from our girl(s). Hard to say goodbye and hard to swallow some of Bioware's decisions about how she ends. What worries me is that any future game in the Mass Effect world won't be character and story driven. It will be gameplay driven. As much as I like the gameplay (and I do), I want a good story to tantalize my imagination and take me away from the real world for a bit.

Yanno?

We would like to see Shepard continue, but all things end.

JamieCOTC wrote...

It is hard to say goodbye. I do love random UJ pics and random questions. I will answer for Asche who is my canon (another reason to replay her with Leviathan, I suppose.)

Asche wanted to do nothing more than wander the galaxy and explore. Growing up on ships and stations, she never felt at home groundside. She never felt the Quarian desire to grow roots. How could she with such a vast universe around her. There is freedom in the stars. And camraderie with like souls. That's all Asche ever wanted. Freedom. Too bad she was such a good two shoes and wanted that for everyone. :)
Image IPB

Bonus Tuchanka smirk. Also an example of where dumb shadows are dumb.
Image IPB

And a little Jenny, who is also a Spacer but wanted nothing more than to be normal, grounded, never left alone like she was on Akuze. It's the cramped atmosphere on the Normandy that appeals to her, not that she's in space. Her cocoon.

Love triangle.

Yeah. Seems a lot of video game innovation is happening in gameplay and graphics - and that's amazing - but BioWare was the one company that really pushed the envelope on what was possible for story-driven choice-matters RPG narrative. Now they appear to be moving more in a conventional auto-dialog, MP heavy, action direction. Those things are not necessarily bad. They can even be really cool. But a lot of other companies are doing them. It is sad to me because BW used to be the one company that seemed to be more interested in the interactive story than any other. But I guess gameplay and MP is where the money is? Dunno.

But I'm with you. I only have a few hours a week to game. I want to spend it well, so I want to spend it in a story that shapes around the character that I get to create. :D

Without story and the interaction by conversations, it's just a generic shooter and most likely worse than those shooters. In other words generic **** that gets boring really quick. There would be no reason to get attached to characters. I really don't want their future games to go down that path.

@LadyAly
Maybe she should get another hoody for EDI. ;)
