Can't blame Vega for, ehm, checking out the rest of Dreas body below the neck.

I know, that's some nice looking hirez N7 armor! :P

ELE, are you using you're own N7 hi-res texture, or JeanLuc's?? He's started doing ME3 hi-res textures like he did for ME2 (that are so good I now can't play ME2 without them, it looks so...80's)

That's the one by Ottemis, and I think its the best after trying pretty much all of them.  I use the chipped version.

Oh, I have both the clean & chipped of Ottemis's, just not tried them yet. Nice :)

Hey guys!
Unlurking for a bit after playing Leviathan, some JRPGs have been distracting me for a bit. =P
Great Sheps in the thread as usual!
I also happened to use that complexion #3 tweak I saw in Sage's blog, and Liv looks really great with it.

http://cloud-2.steam...1951420310F5E7/

And Rosalie made it through Leviathan too before I got distracted by shiny unplayed games.

Also lillitheris, your screenshots are always really good!
They take a huge hit on my loading times, though. =P

You know, I think I’ve managed to change my setting so that it’s not generating a thumbnail but embedding the whole image directly. Fixed that for the future, should make it a little easier on slower connections. You’ll still be able to click for the full size.

Sorry & thanks ^_^

Mass Effect series (and pretty much every UE3 game) benefits a lot (and I really mean a lot) from supersampling. Shader aliasing and shimmering can be a real problem and especially annoying in while walking around.

Hello femSheps!

I've posted here some time ago just to drop a few pics and have been lurking around now and then since then.

Since i did this to introduce my Shep in the Kaidan thread, thought i would repost here. I give to you Joan Shepard, she's my only one >>>

I'm still unsatisfied with her looks, so that's really a selection of moments where she looks OK to me. Thank you for having her Image IPB

Hello, Joan!

I like the one you have for your avatar too. Are you still tweaking or settled for her goddess-given looks? ^_^

Oh you mean her Mimi-given looks? Image IPB
Actually... I cheated a bit for my avatar > it's really the same Joan but from ME2 with photoshopped ME3 hair :P
These are vanilla imports from her original ME1 self, ME3 was Gibbed-tweaked a bit... Actually i'm neither tweaking nor settled unfortunately, she's still in the middle of nowhere cause i just don't have the huge amount of time i'd like to give her, but she'd never really end up looking that different anyway i think - i just love her Image IPB

I'm supposing - with my rudimentary-at-best tech knowledge - that you mean anti-aliasing by this. I use an injector for SMAA for ME1 and ME2. Minimal performance hit, but still quite good anti-aliasing. I get a slideshow with any conventional type of anti-aliasing. :P Doesn't cooperate with the Steam overlay, though, which I use to take screenshots.

You can see it at work here (click to embiggen):

And not here because I just used a gaussian blur here, but I like the screenshot:

I'm liking the look of Joan! Her looks have a lot of character! :) Looking forward to seeing more!

Supersampling is antialiasing technique and pretty much the best form in terms of quality. It is brute force technique and will really hurt the performance if your GPU doesn't have the power. Shader based post process antialiasing methods are fastest and offer worse quality. Multisampling is good but in deferred shading games like in UE3 it is far from effective and causes large hit in performance too. Multisampling doesn't do anything for transparent textures either since it smooths polygon edges only. Supersampling processes the whole image (it will be basically rendered in much higher resulotion and then downsampled). Multi and supersampling is great for subpixel detail and they remove motion aliasing which is something that FXAA and SMAA can't do. They blur the minor detail. Supersampling is pretty much the only effective way to remove shader aliasing.

I personally use 4xSGSSAA since my system still hits the vsync limit which is 75Hz in my case at 1920x1080 when walking around in Normandy. Phone writing so excuse me if I do not proofread this time.

(Yes, Krayzi... I know... xD)

Sooooo... yes. Yes, it's anti-aliasing. :P Haha, I wish I had a powerful enough GPU for supersampling to work, but alas, I'll have to make do with the post-processing anti-aliasing options!

I'm also a bit shocked that that didn't completely go over my head.

I'm pretty much sure now that it does look great for every Shep, you just have to make sure you look at the differences in a good lighting, or compare old screens with new ones. I switched to them very late in the game, and playing through Leviathan with them was awesome. Got me things like that:

Seconding that! ^_^

@Eyil: It's interesting to see Shep with Liara's armour! How does that work in terms of gameplay, with the bonuses and such?
@ELE: Very nice. I have something for the pink-lighted one ^_^

While people are speaking of performances... have ME3 ever made your computer stop because it was overheating? It happened to me an unreasonnable amounts of time... :pinched: Fortunately, it goes into hibernation so you can go directly into your game again on restart.

Yeah, I used to have it happen in summer while I was still using my (at least) 5yo case. Now have a nice new airy (and well ventilated) Antec Three Hundred Two case I've only had it happen once on a night the gas fire had been running on high for a while in the next room.

Though in my case, my PC would either just freeze and require a hard reset, or would reset itself :(

Well, I'm on a laptop, which makes this more problematic, and an HP, which are infamous for heating quite a bit... (it's only 2 years old) I did not issues with ME2 at the time, they started with DE:HR... I have a nice cooling platform (fans), which makes all overheating go away, but I left it in France... might need to take it back now that the Australian summer is nearing

It's frustrating when Shep is uttering an awesome line and suddenly the screen goes black, while the sound plays for 2 seconds more... oops

@Tup3xi: I assume you’re forcing SSAA through Nvidia Inspector or similar for ATI, not through a mod? I should actually try that, I’ve only used the default ME profiles.

This SSAA sounds great, doesn’t it, Liara?
