Hehe...being in France it's not doing too great a job of cooling your laptop now ;)

I currently have an issue (that I'm too lazy to work out - more fun to get back to playing) where every now and then any game i'm playing drops me back to the desktop, just like if i'd pressed Alt+Tab that can happen at the most inopportune times.

Edit: Oh balls, my first ToP....finding necessary pic....here we go:

My ME2 Vanguard, Bianca, who started ME, then had a play through of ME2 & ME3 as an Adept. Going back and doing the Vanguard play through after seeing how awesomely fun the Vanguard is in ME3 :)

Edit 2: so that was huge, apologies, now click for larger version

See, this is why I regret my HD5770...and my next card will be a GTX560, at the minimum.

@Eyil: It's interesting to see Shep with Liara's armour! How does that work in terms of gameplay, with the bonuses and such?

I set my own bonuses for it. :P I think, if I remember correctly, that I gave the armour a power damage/cooldown bonus. Possibly both. :P It's a bit of a pain, though, since you have to change the armour manually to Liara's outfit with every scene transition. It's worth it though, in my opinion. :)

I totally need a new GPU - I'm still on the GeForce 9 series. :P Alas, I'm going to university in... 3 days, so I think any new, expensive GPU will have to wait!

Sometimes I get bored and get the urge to play ME... old habits die hard, I guess. So make Shepards that I play for like, 20 minutes and then toss them aside. Latest character is a super renegade, she's kind of creepy.

Yeah, still hate the terminator eye glow...

Multi and supersampling is great for subpixel detail and they remove motion aliasing which is something that FXAA and SMAA can't do. They blur the minor detail. Supersampling is pretty much the only effective way to remove shader aliasing.

I personally use 4xSGSSAA since my system still hits the vsync limit which is 75Hz in my case at 1920x1080 when walking around in Normandy. Phone writing so excuse me if I do not proofread this time.

I had adaptive multi-sampling AA, I enabled supersampling now. Let's see if it makes a difference. I'll blame you if my GPU/laptop melts :P

Nope, indeed. Although I'm soon moving to an unit with air-con, so it should be less of an issue for the upcoming Queensland summer... (which is said to be relatively mild? what?)

Try to see if you have the latest versions of all the drivers, maybe? A number of things when create a CTD...

Keep in mind that I'm not talking about TrSSAA, it will only do the trick for transparent textures. AMD should offer SGSSAA in their drivers, I can't remember exactly if it was available for all Radeon's and if it works in every game but as far as I know HD 5000 series and up had the option available in the drivers (better keep them updated). I've been anti ATI (now AMD ) ever since I had Rage IIc 4 MB 3D accelerator (it was more like 3D de-accelerator and huge pain in the butt).

Forgot to say this but it does look really promising so far! I second what Ottemis said.

Not sure what's happening there, the Catalyst Control Centre only say "super sampling". I have a HD 5650, drivers up to date. The example graphic shown in the CCC did look slightly smoother, not just in the transparent textures when I switched from MSAA to SSAA. Now, I haven't had the time to play yet to check in-game.

Does installing a tool like RadeonPro is worth the shot?

A 4 MB GPU? When did these things happened? :o:P

'97-'99, when little Tup3x was so spellbound by C&C and SW: Racer. It always sucked though. It was DirectX 5.0 card. But anyway, I don't know how the CCC works with new cards. I have HD 4670 in HTPC and it does not support that feature so I can's check it out. As long as it's not transparency supersampling it's the right one. Can it churn out acceptable frame rate is another matter... But I guess you will find that out soonish.

Not necessarily at each new cutscene, but after most loading screens, when the area changes, between missions, that sort of thing. I can usually go a whole mission without having to force the armour locker more than once (at the start), but there are times when I have to do it two or three times. :P Since Catherine also uses a breather, the beginning of some breather levels can be pretty hilarious.

I might edit the coalesced or her renegade/paragon score so they stay at stage two or three and not go full on Terminator. I mean she is scary enough as it is....

@ELE - Drea looks fantastic. A work of art.

Some time ago the old femshep thread was crashed by some guys wanting to start something (knock on wood that it hasn't happened in a while nor will it). One snide comment stood out from the rest, that there was no reason to be proud of a femshep (or any Shep) face. Ignorance is both blissful and full of itself, I suppose, because nothing could be further from the truth. Just getting a femshep to look right in the CC whether its ME1 2 or 3 is a feat. Add gibbed modding and texmods on top of that and it becomes even more complex. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but still it should be said that everyone should be proud of their girls. And while I may not comment on everyone's Shep, I love looking at them all.

@Metal-Dragon-Kiryu - Speaking of works of art, she's looking good MDK. Always nice to see your WIPs.

@Eyil - Cathy has a lot of character in her face. I think that's why I like her so much.

@Red - Faye looks beautiful and tough.  Good combination. :)

Supersampling is antialiasing technique and pretty much the best form in terms of quality. It is brute force technique and will really hurt the performance if your GPU doesn't have the power. Shader based post process antialiasing methods are fastest and offer worse quality. Multisampling is good but in deferred shading games like in UE3 it is far from effective and causes large hit in performance too. Multisampling doesn't do anything for transparent textures either since it smooths polygon edges only. Supersampling processes the whole image (it will be basically rendered in much higher resulotion and then downsampled). Multi and supersampling is great for subpixel detail and they remove motion aliasing which is something that FXAA and SMAA can't do. They blur the minor detail. Supersampling is pretty much the only effective way to remove shader aliasing.

Melonyred: I do love Faye. :P She does look angry a lot of the time, doesn't she? Makes her smiling look all the rarer and more valuable! Still, I'd not want to run into her in a dark alley.

JamieCOTC: Thank you! It's great to hear (read?) that! The same goes for me and UJ, really. :P She's not supermodel-caliber material, but she's really got such a distinctive, unique face that really has a lot of personality, and frankly, I prefer that. :P

Metal-Dragon-Kiryu - I really like your Shep! Her expression in the third picture is great.

I don't know about that incident on the previous thread ,since I never got the chance to read through all the pages, but this thread I love. Seeing all these great femsheps here and reading through their story always puts a smile on my face. You guys are all awesome for keeping this thread alive and going.
What's great with femshep first of all as an idea, a character and then a figure is that you get to decide what she is going to be and that being said every single one of them is a work of art herself.  Gibbed or Texmod or not at all, I completely agree that everyone should feel proud of their femsheps! What's most important is what each one of them represent.

She can be like this (and this is Eris, my favorite renegade and Garrusmancer all the way who chose Control) :
Image IPB

Image IPB

or like this (this is Clea, my paragon , stayed loyal to Kaidan through it all and chose Destory in the end.) :
Image IPB

You know I could easily post them all cause I got lots of them but I wouldn't like to claim all the other 800 pages by myself. :P

@Eyil : Really blushing right now..!  :D
And may I say that Jacob rrreaally got the prize there!  I actually watched some other vids from that guy and I'm
laughing so hard ,it should be illegal! In any event, Garrus is one lucky man! Cathy is mesmerising in her uniqueness. Always love seeing her. That evac shot with Garrus is sweet and bitter at the same time. Such an emotional moment to say goodbye to Garrus, either as a friend or a LI.
@laikabaws : Thanks laika, flycam is actually responsible for soo many other derpy pics I have. Can't resist !  Leviathan screens were great, I have already purchased the dlc but haven't too much time to play it yet. Now I really want to ,damn multiplayer and college studying!  :P  Kyrie is always great , badass and pretty at the same time. Oh and I love that last pic of her, she looks so peaceful . As much as I love  your blogs on your signature! Great job , I really like reading all those.
@Bowie Hawkins : Thank you and have freakingly awesome vacation!
@yukidama : Is it weird that I like dem scars so bad? I rarely let my sheps get their scars healed in ME3, I'm creepy like that. :P

Fiery Phoenix: I love Jane. I don't see why they changed her between ME1/2 and ME3, the old Femshep default was great!
