Fiery Phoenix: I love Jane. I don't see why they changed her between ME1/2 and ME3, the old Femshep default was great!

Thank you!

She's not really the default Jane, though. I first created her in April 2008 and have done my best to keep her appearance as is since. If I remember right, she was originally one of the preset faces in ME1, which I tweaked a little and finalized.

She's awesome; I love her. Makes playing Renegade a lot more fun since those green eyes can be quite intimidating!

Old Jane was my first play on ME3 as well.  I couldnt put her to oneside.

Skald did a excellent post on reworking the original Jane face though in the old thread. She was always a great model to build on.  But she was never 100% right as she was never really the focus unlike sheploo.  But we changed that in the end!!

Still she had a certain charm and I think that plain look was defining in more ways then one.

Some time ago the old femshep thread was crashed by some guys wanting to start something (knock on wood that it hasn't happened in a while nor will it). One snide comment stood out from the rest, that there was no reason to be proud of a femshep (or any Shep) face. Ignorance is both blissful and full of itself, I suppose, because nothing could be further from the truth. Just getting a femshep to look right in the CC whether its ME1 2 or 3 is a feat. Add gibbed modding and texmods on top of that and it becomes even more complex. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but still it should be said that everyone should be proud of their girls. And while I may not comment on everyone's Shep, I love looking at them all.

This.

ME's CC is HARD to work with. Making something that looks human is a feat in itself. anything beyond that is gravy. yummy femshep gravy. mmmm.... gravy....

@ MDK: yay Freya! she's an icon to me. seriously. blonde sheps are few, and she's one of my faves.

i'm gonna add to the blondie love:

Aah, I remember that time... first familly computer in 1997, with an impressive 2GB hard-drive... That seemed a lot back then... :P Although games were already in the 500 MB range then. I don't think we had a GPU until 2000 or 2001 though. Fortunately that I was mostly obssessed with Civilization II, which did not required a lot of resources.

But anyway, I don't know how the CCC works with new cards. I have HD 4670 in HTPC and it does not support that feature so I can's check it out. As long as it's not transparency supersampling it's the right one. Can it churn out acceptable frame rate is another matter... But I guess you will find that out soonish.

Yes. I'll try tonight, if I find time to play a bit while packing... otherwise it will have to wait 10 days or so :P

Why couldn't she enjoy a little freezing non-breathable breeze on her face, let her do what she wants :P

@Sage,
Psh what are you talking about Faye is a dirty blonde. Then there would be Dakota... well if Bioware hadn't 'forgot' about a certain Drell...

I played Dakota halfway through Earth but suddenly realized I have no point playing her. And I'm just not looking forward to putting my sweet white paragon through that...

But seriously about blondes, the codex even says that blondes are rare. What I hardly see here are brunettes. I see the pale blonde, the auburn, true red, and black but I rarely see dirty blondes and brunettes. I know Aislinn's Holly Shepard is a brunette, but for the life of me I can't think of anyone else who has one. (I terribly sorry if I over looked someone)

The codex is based on some bull**** studies that said blondes would disappear in a number of years because its a recessive trait and more mixing of the human population would make it dissappear in profit of dominant trait. It's the same incorrect idea that everyone's going to be tanned/dark haired in the futur... There's no reason why blondes would be less common in the 2180s than today. More info.

That is interesting, however not that I don't trust Wiki completely but I don't trust Wiki completely. So I checked out a few other web sites that I know are reliable and it would seem you're currect. World Health Organization (who were the one who supposedly did the study) said they never conducted any research into the subject. This interests me since they say the same thing about redheads (which I am).

Yes, well wiki was here for the example, I've heard it from other sources too. The redheads seems also not to be in danger of dissappearing... Maybe both blonde and red will be less common than they already are, but for sure they will not go away.

What will happen is that we will start to see some interesting combinations that are uncommon or not present at the moment. Redheaded blue-eyed asian, maybe? who knows ^_^

Not asian but redheaded pale blue-eyed right here. Sho nuff! B) I get people asking me all the time if my eyes are 'real.' I'm going to look into this more.

The codex doesn't say it. It was in the novels, and was Kahlee thinking to herself about how she's so special and rare to have blonde hair.

It's in the novels. I've never saw anywere else.

The novels even tied into that nonsense about how humans have more genetic diversity than the aliens. But humans are losing this genetic diversity because just look at blondes going extinct!

< Also a brunette.

Yes, novels, genes are mixing enough that blondes are disappearing. Edit: natural blondes, I think it specified. I seem to recall a line about how it was easy to change hair color from natural, though.

Wonderful image, Mimi.

Not sure how this topic started, but for what's it's worth, Joan is  totally the brunette, actually i'd say "blackette", as she is  rather black haired than dark brown haired, but it's a black with brown shades, not blue shades. She got that from some very mixed origins which make her look as if she borrowed from a lot of different "types". Which she somewhat take after me of course, since i'm half Asian and half Caucasian Image IPB

EDIT> oops, sorry, i've just reread OP, i always thought "brunette" stood for black hair too, my bad - so no, not brunette either :P - although i should totally go and check her facecode...

@SebAusFR @lilli > i'll post more if i find anything interesting then.

A lot to reply to! :D

Fiery Phoenix: Ah, I see. Either way, she (and default femshep from me1/me2) looks great! I totally agree about the green eyes. :P

Captain Crash: Looks like a great reworking of Old Jane! And I agree, the plain and practical look was part of the reason that I like her so much. New Default Jane is just a bit too 'done-up' for me. I like her hair though.

SebAusFR: See, you'd think that she breathes through her nose, but the breather is actually just for fashion. She actually breathes through her scalp, so she removes her hair to breathe a bit easier.

Meonlyred: Haha, Cathy's a brunette! Looks like we have quite a few brunettes too. I also have a dirty blonde/mousey-brown-haired Femshep called Emily, but I don't really play her all that much. :P

And here's one of the few screenshots of Emily that I managed to dig up:

Why can't I find the sweatshirt outfit? My Fem-Shep has that party dress where Bro-Shep has the leather jacket. I want the sweatshirt!!!
