For me, I never think I will be 'over' FemShep. Instead, I think I'm going to take my love of her, as a strong female hero, into other ventures and other projects. Anyhow, if you don't see me around much, I just wanted to say thanks for reading my fanfic, thanks for the fan-based community, thanks for being awesome, thanks for being a femshep fan, thanks for being someone who likes gaming enough to talk about it on a forum. It's nice to know that I'm not the only geek, gamer, or geek gamer girl out there in the world.

You were one of my biggest inspirations toward writing Hannah's stories, so thank you for that.

And I hate that we'll never see the rest of Kyrie's story written out, but thank you for posting the notes for us. And I hope to see more fiction, of whatever sort you might choose to write, in future.

I wanted to share some more screen caps from Nemain's final hours:

I see Nemain as a person who gives off the impression of being friendly and casual, while never really considering anyone a true confidante. This obviously begins to change by the time the events of ME3 come into play and apart from Garrus, her lover, Liara is someone she now considers a friend.

A moment of peace. The possibility of death never felt so real, and yet she never felt as calm as now. Posted Image

I like the parallel between the visors Nemain and EDI are wearing. What really stood out is what EDI says at the closing of the Synthesis ending: Because of Shepard I can feel truly alive. The same applies to Nemain. For once her path in life became clear, and the idea of self-sacrifice and the happiness of the others took precedence.

Thanks for all your work on fic, modding (which helped UJ a lot in ME3) and for just being around.  We'll miss you and Kyrie both.

I'm very sorry to see you go sage, but I understand your reasons. I'm very grateful I got to know you, and your flycam blogs especially were awesome. Hopefully we will meet again somewhere and at least maintain the spirit of discussion that we had in here, just on other topics. All the best.

Just when I came home from work to chill out and relax after a rubbish Monday. Im met with this!!!  :(

Cant press it enough and its not making me feel better :crying:  Normally that wacky button cheers me up.

Ok I admit it has helped :P

Sorry to hear though sage.  I totally understand and to be honest I have been expecting people to now drop off and move on.  Its only natural, but its been accelerated with the fact the ends are such a blow to an epic saga and journey.  The end was supposed to inspire and spur people on.  Instead its disillusioned so many.

I cant imagine choosing anything other then destroy for any FemShep I will ever create or do any future plays with as the other two options (especially synthesis) are a whole lot of nonsensical rubbish.  Having a foregone conclusion forever in my mind takes away a whole heap of replay value.

sage, I don't even know what to say. I'm obviously quite a bit heartbroken that you're leaving and that you won't be finishing your fic, but I completely understand and respect your reasons.

I found your writing to be incredibly inspiring in more ways than one, so thank you. It put into words so many things I wanted to articulate about my feelings about Femshep and my deep love of the characters, and your writing is seriously engaging and addictive, hahaha. Femshep and Mass Effect have gotten under my skin in a way that nothing really has since I was a kid, and your fanfiction captured that passion perfectly for me.

Also, I don't know if you're still interested, but I do have a couple work in progress sketches of those illustrations I'd planned for your fic. I could tell your desire to work on the fic was waning, so I set them aside, but I may still finish them and post them as a way of saying thank you, if you don't mind.

I know I haven't been around nearly as long as a lot of people in this thread, but I have to say, you were a large part of the reason I became active in the community. It was your stories and posts that made me realize this was a community full of women like me, who felt just as strongly about their Femsheps as I do about mine.

Good luck with your writing and with all your future projects! You're incredibly talented and I'm sure the next thing you make will be amazing. You will be missed here.

The default full helmet is pretty close to racing helmet and from my own experience it does (naturally) limit the the peripheral vision a lot. It's a compromise whether or not one wants more cover or the other advantages that comes from being helmetless.

I prefer to see Shepard's face all the time so she doesn't wear any headgear. Personally I would wear the full helmet with breather all the time if I would be in Shepard's shoes.

The hud was probably meant to compensate for better situational awareness. My Shep rarely wears hers(helmet) - or the eye/ear piece. She is more attached to ME1 helmets. She did wear those one quite often[except indoor - although the benefit from it when engaged in cqc is undeniable].

Seriously, though, a helmet is essential. Like I said earlier, it’s not even about being shot at—although it may help there too—it also protects your head from debris, falls, collisions… How sad would it be if Saren won because Shepard got knocked out by a stray rock from a faraway explosion?

(That said, of course, there’s effectively zero functional difference in gameplay mechanics, so in that respect whatever works.)

Sad to see you go, sagequeen. I’m impressed you can quit wholesale, too, I’ll probably just end up lingering around. Although at this point I’m still quite excited about writing Unity—probably since it’s post-ending. I can imagine a retelling to be quite hard.

The shield can probably account for some of those - pretty much all high velocity objects/ maybe shock waves[not sure] - but, yeah i see what you mean.

Wow. Thanks guys - for responses here and PMs and such.

(*sob* all the feels! makes it so hard to walk away from Mass Effect)

ahem.

so, I remembered this thing I had in my fanfic archives. I'd written a bit of fluff to end Shepard/Kaidan's love story - anepilogue to the epilogue, if you will - then worked on it a bit when I thought the femshep.com fanfic prompt was going to be something after the main story. I then shelved it, thinking, "wah! they all die, what does it matter?" and forgot about it. Then, after posting my take on the endings, it was like I felt weirdly freed from the endings and once again became convinced shep and kaidan *didn't* die.

strange, yes, I'm sure, but anyhow, it's a little bit of Shenko, if you care to read.

Epilogue: The Proposal

thanks guys. and take care.

@Crash - There is something cute about her, and for what it is, they did a very good job. I still prefer the Play Arts one, though.
