The gatling gun seems mildly anachronistic, but then again, ME3 introduced turrets and ME2, ammo clips, so maybe not.

Don’t forget swords!

…Wait, would that make a gatling anachronistic again?

And the mass effect field toothbrush or whatever. With stuff like that I'm surprised that there are no lightsabers!

I see a gatling gun and I think of a 1980s or 1990s macho-action film. The gatling gun in the painting looks very much like what we have today, without any futuristic modification. Swords don't feel as restrictive when it comes to timelines. They're much more universal. I can accept a sword the same way I can accept biotic magic or the fact that humans sometimes use paper in ME, but would you be as able to suspend disbelief if you saw, say, an uzi or revolver in Shepard's hands? The style doesn't suit. This is personal opinion of course.

Omni-blades.

IIRC, the Typhoon seems to be ejecting spent brass when fired. Must have an omnitool setup to do that just for the Rule of Cool.

Edit: I tend to think A-10 Thunderbolt II when I think of gatling guns.

Oh, you mean like this:

Back on topic:  RE:  Hair length.  US Navy requirement is presented below

b.  Women.  Hairstyles shall not be outrageously multicolored or faddish, to include shaved portions of the scalp (other than the neckline), or have designs cut or braided into the hair.  Hair coloring must look natural and complement the individual.  Haircuts and styles shall present a balanced appearance.  Lopsided and extremely asymmetrical styles are not authorized.  Ponytails, pigtails, widely spaced individual hanging locks, and braids which protrude from the head, are not authorized.  Multiple braids are authorized.  Braided hairstyles shall be conservative and conform to the guidelines listed herein.  When a hairstyle of multiple braids is worn, braids shall be of uniform dimension, small in diameter (approx. 1/4 inch), and tightly interwoven to present a neat, professional, well groomed appearance.  Foreign material (i.e., beads, decorative items) shall not be braided into the hair.  Short hair may be braided in symmetrical fore and aft rows (corn rowing) which minimize scalp exposure.  Corn row ends shall not protrude from the head, and shall be secured only with inconspicuous rubber bands that match the color of the hair.  Appropriateness of a hairstyle shall also be judged by its appearance when headgear is worn.  All headgear shall fit snugly and comfortably around the largest part of the head without distortion or excessive gaps.  Hair shall not show from under the front of the brim of the combination hat, garrison, or command ball caps.  Hairstyles which do not allow headgear to be worn in this manner, or which interfere with the proper wear of protective masks or equipment are prohibited.  When in uniform, the hair may touch, but not fall below a horizontal line level with the lower edge of the back of the collar.  With jumper uniforms, hair may extend a maximum of 1-1/2 inches below the top of the jumper collar.  Long hair, including braids, which fall below the lower edge of the collar shall be neatly and inconspicuously fastened, pinned, or secured to the head.  No portion of the bulk of the hair as measured from the scalp will exceed approximately 2 inches.  <Figure 2-2-2> refers.  A maximum of two small barrettes/combs/  clips, similar to hair color, may be used in the hair. Additional bobby pins or rubber bands matching hair color may be used to hold hair in place, if necessary.  Fabric elastics and colored rubber bands/pins are not authorized.  Hair ornaments shall not present a safety or FOD (Foreign Object Damage) hazard.  Hair nets shall not be worn unless authorized for a specific type of duty.

As I see it, the old default "classy" hairstyle would fall under that, as would some of the shorter ones, including shaving bald.

The only ones that are blatantly not okay are the Cyberbabe (bangs in the face), the ME3 classy (I'm pretty sure it's a bit too long), and the ME3 Default Jane (it's too long, and there are bangs in the face). And I guess the ME3 Custom Sexy, because it's got bangs too.

And of course, all the modded long hair.

I'm pretty sure the rest are okay.

But who cares, it's a video game. SPACE MAGIC OMNI HAIR GEL etc.

edit: Aaand now I'm just imagining all the awesome hairstyles I wish they'd put in the CC. I totally wish I could give my Shepard an awesome French braid, or cornrows, or even just more options for short styles (some more pixie cuts, maybe). And more curly hairstyles! I wish the CC was as easy to mod as Dragon Age.

Sigh.

They're all over the place; though they are now called mini-gun[ The one on the thunderbolt still remains a gatlin, i think]. They went through modifications(to reduce jamming/overheating among other things) so they could be chambered in 7.62 and follow NATO regs. My guess is that particular design is here to stay. I wouldn't be surprised if that operating system is still used in the 2180's.

@thompsmt: Haha, love that van; ii it just cosmetic? Cause some guy actually went ahead and had real jet reactors installed on his truck. Scratch that. It does look cosmetic.

This is, of course, the right answer—but I do think it’s a fun RP component.

Looks absolutely great @Metal-Dragon-Kiryu

I don't care btw in a game about reality - we have enough of it in our lifetime. My comment to the hair, jewel and gun discussion. Fantasy peeps is the salt of dreams - nothing real.

Have some Kayleigh

Look sharply in this gun my friend ...

Hello all here. Even so I'm not really posting here, I do visit in here often and enjoy all the cool Shepards.

Anyway I thought I might change some pics of her here :)

My Venetia Shepard is my favorite and main Shepard. She's a Spacer kid and war hero. She's a Vanguard and that means, she's a bit crazy, loves danger and every once a while she can show some temper. The man at her side is Kaidan and with him she retired after destroying the Reapers.

Haha true, though actually it's meant to be her in the ME universe.

Though now I do actually want to do a proper medieval FemShep drawing. Hmmmm...
