@ELE08
Nice! That's definitely better. Less is more when it comes to makeup, usually. A bit to enhance the looks the purdiest. At least that's what I prefer to look at.

@N7Calibrator  Thx :)  And like Electra she is a Vanguard - I really love this class and agree on your comments about.

Awesome shot - love it. It has a beauty of its own<3

I would be so happy if the biotics are better to capture in a screen - flycam wont work - also ME2 or better Steam - is resisting to use some mods. So Kayleigh couldn't keep her scars from ME1.

But in my Headcannon Project Lazarus solved it - it will return in ME3, though, cause I love the scars. I made Kayleigh initially in ME3 and recreated her back to ME 1 with Tup3xi awesome slider tool :o . Now she will be soon here in her originally style and look :happy:

@Ottemis you are a texmod maniac - and so much of your work is help to increase the fun to play <3
And I remember very well the driving skills :police:

The Wallpaper .. oh well - this make up on her face and the *creepy* grin is ruining it for my taste.
ELE08 - exactly this would awesome to see in the wallpaper :happy:

@Files I love how you describe Indra's weaknesses

@Jamie Awesome Pic - I saw at the link they did it with red haircolor too - likey ^_^

@merylisk oh - a new sexy dress for Naomi - looks good on her.

@meonlyred - Nice texmod - I already said it.  Kaidan's armor looks also so much better

@cwhitney1972 Interesting take - I was thinking about this very often,too. I like the comparison very much. Your Shepards are awesome

@Tup3xi No one can hit the Top Better then Tiia <3

Vasir .. don't kidding me. I shoot the hostage and then you ... you lose anyway:bandit:

@Driving skills, I quoted Tupi because that particular manip I posted in the thread more then a year ago, and the only comment I left under it at the time was "She parked it". Seeing as the title of the piece doesn't reflect it, and I didn't mention it this time around, I suspected he'd have remembered that particular posting way back when.

Nonetheless, and less specifically, I know my Sheps have horrible driving skills with the Mako, ya. =)

This is how modders get skipped and their work diminished. People read this, and they go download someone elses stuff instead. I'll make a comparison when I'm back from the store, because Yes, obviously this is actually important to me. I didn't work my butt off for weeks so people could go "meh, barely see the difference".

PS: Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that as a console player not being able to take advantage of mods, you'd maybe even feel a need to diminish it, because you have no access to it. PC players sit closer to their screens, PC players can utilize flycam and zoom in, it matters. I'd much rather have had Bioware deliver us with better textures (and they could have even at current filesize, the detail is abominable) but they didn't. So if I go out of my way to solute this for a part of the playerbase, I'd like for that effort to not be diminished (especially not in the only thread I visit, because this is also the only place I openly share my mods).

Well, if you need to use flycam and zoom in just to see the improvement, is it much of an improvement?

So if I go out of my way to solute (sic) this for a part of the playerbase, I'd like for that effort to not be diminished (especially not in the only thread I visit, because this is also the only place I openly share my mods).

Okay...? So just because you made it, and just because you only post here anymore, and just because you only share it here, nobody's allowed to not think it is great? Come on 'mis, that is nonsensical.

Perhaps those tow pictures Red used are just a bad example. I'm open to being convinced that the effort was worth it when you reply. At this stage I just don't see it.

 Hmm, as a console player I certainly don't feel a "need" to diminish yours or any other modder's work and keep in mind that while you might sit closer to your screen, console players tend to play on much larger screens so it's not as though we don't notice clipping and what not. For some, the improvement in resolution is not very important. They'd rather play the game rather than constantly tinker with the settings each time the game is booted up. Or maybe they just don't notice it and find the game enjoyable enough.

~~
@ELE: Less makeup on her definitely looks much better. Another thing that bothers me about this official wallpaper is that it looks as though Shepard took a trip to Sears and had her picture taken in front of a destroyed city backdrop. The smile is silly and doesn't fit what is going on behind her. I'd have preferred a stern expression, maybe even a roughed up face.

I said, "some might even", not "every console player does XY". It was a general comment, not something anybody needs to defend themselves against. And not caring about the texture-quality is something entirely different than saying you barely notice the difference.

edit: blah.

Half the modding thread has been using my mod for months, personally I notice the difference and recognize my mod everytime. If people haven't by now, I don't think, on second thought and in light of this discussion, I even want to stick the effort into defending my mod in therms of comparison shots when I should be feeling non-crappy, cleaning my bathroom because I've got some friends coming over from Germany, and I SHOULD be feeling happy right now.

Especially if they post very rare - just don't let it get to you. Everyone has the freedom and abiltie to do what they please them. And you do a great work - and crappy textures are crappy textures.
Some bothers it mor some less.

I just can't stand people which showing up frequently all 2 months or so and having nothing others to do as try to discourage others....

 Naturally. That is something I already mentioned in my previous post. Just don't take it as an insult when someone says they don't see a huge diffence. MasseffectFan felt bad for asking about the difference, when he/she really shouldn't feel bad. How noticeable the difference is depends on how much the player cares about such detail, if they even see these type of details at all. Maybe the earlier picture example wasn't the best. Different strokes for different folks.

I'd never have judged him over it, probably didn't look at the enlarged pictures either, but when multiple people then start commenting on not noticing the difference, it starts to pull me down. There's no reason for it, imho. All it does is make me potentially feel bad about it. I'm OCD enough when it comes to my mods =o

Anywhose, blah stuff things.
I'm quirky and insecure enough to jump on the fence, i shouldn't. I shall go clean my bathroom with outragiously loud music on, back later. In the end i reckon communication on a forum like this goes better when you know how people tick.

Well to be honest here, I've been using the particular armor mod by Ottemis since he/she releashed it (so I'm quallified to speak up my mind) and it is the best I've come across yet. Many guys tried to make a high res version of the N7 femshep armor and Ottemis is the only one that managed to keep the upper chest area smooth enough, at least amongst the ones I've used thus far. Modifying the armors in general is really hard work, there are so many files a modder has to work with, I give credit to them all for being kind enough to share their work with us but that's my own opinion on the matter. (IBR, smarteck, ellisse did a great job as well)
This is not just a 10% improvement, not by a long shot!

Anyway, it's pretty weird but I've noticed that the N7 armor is the only one that looks so low res for both genres, all the others look much better originally. It's pretty much ironic since it's the default one and the one you're forced to wear in the intro, you'd think they'd put most of their hard work on that. :P

Ah, I know how that can be a bit frustrating at times, especially if you have your eyes on a specific mod! Regarding Flycam in ME1 , I found it pretty hard to find directions on the web that worked fine for me in game, so I tried editing the files by myself and it worked. Finally! :P I don't know if you're interested but here's what I did. (it's pretty easy btw so don't get your hopes down just yet!)

1. Go to User/My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect/Config
2. Now you're gonna see some ini files, next thing you want to do is open the BIOInput file using Notepad++ .
3. Scroll down where you see the Binding codes (i believe the last line is 398) and copy paste in the line below the following codes:
Bindings=(Name="NumPadOne", InputMode=BIO_INPUT_MODE_NONE, Command="PlayersOnly",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)

Bindings=(Name="NumPadTwo", InputMode=BIO_INPUT_MODE_NONE, Command="ToggleFlyCam",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)

Bindings=(Name="NumPadThree", InputMode=BIO_INPUT_MODE_NONE, Command="ToggleHUD",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)

Bindings=(Name="NumPadEight", InputMode=BIO_INPUT_MODE_NONE, Command="Tiledshot x4 1024",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)   -->this one is for high res screenshots.

4. Save the file and there you go! :wizard: You can change the bindings in whatever you want e.g F12 or F10 if you don't use  them.

So to recap:
-Num Pad one freezes time
-Num Pad two toggles flycam mode
-Num Pad three toggles HUD
-Num Pad eight takes high res screens
Btw, can't wait to see Kayleigh in ME3 with her awesome scars , she's a bombshell! :wub:

@Ottemis: Whoa, you put some seriously hard work on creating that texture for Marie , so many details there; this is crazy talented.
And great photomanips as well as artwork on your deviantart. =)

@ottemis: love ALL of your texmods, and I use them all as you know! <3( also use all of ELE's as well as few others...like yuki's eyelash mod, and special one which kraysi gave to me).

Thanks and you're welcome. What problems are you having exactly? All coalesced.ini tweaks work without any issues in ME2, so does texmod. Same thing for ME1 except that enabling fly cam for example is even easier. I have the whole trilogy on Origin but I play ME1 and ME2 Steam versions only. If you can't get it to work, there must be something wrong.

@Ottemis
You textures are great and the difference is massive.

The bigger the object the more obvious it is. Meonlyred's pictures were quite heavily compressed too which smudges the fine detail.

Yeah, I agree with you there.  The thought of adding a bit of grime crossed my mind but that was just a quick test after putting her in XNALara.  I think in the future I'll do just that!

I love a bit of dirt and sweat.  Besides making more sense in the context of fighting a war to save the galaxy (!) it looks really kickass.  My personal opinion ™.

Well, exactly this.  Also the difference absolutely shines in close-ups of Shepard's face, of which there are many.  The default N7 armor is laughably bad, especially since its well, default.  You think they'd make that one better.  Of course the difference is harder to see in an example shot which is panned out and compressed - the eye is taking in the whole picture over the details.

Not flycam'd or zoomed in just good ol Bioware cinematics.  Holy blurry textures Batman.

Some more of Indra:
~~

 Indra is the only character I have that chose to save Ashley in the first game. The decision had less to do with role playing and more to do with wanting to see how different her addition was compared to Kaiden. I also didn't want any awkward attention from him in the third game, not to mention it felt pretty cool having a squad of three women kick ass across the galaxy.

Posted Image

 Indra likes Ashley's dedication to the Alliance and appreciates her ballsy demeanor, although you would never guess this were the case given how often Indra asserts her command, or rather,  puts on a show of being in command. And while Indra won't tolerate any outspoken reservations about her time with Cerberus, deep down she understands where Ashley is coming from. There's a sisterly bond between the two that neither would like to admit. If Indra's parents had more children, Ashley is precisely the kind of girl Indra would have roamed the colony with.

Another character Indra respects: Aria. I think Indra is one to shun the proper way of doing things if it can be accomplished much more effectively through less savory methods....
