Nice! That's definitely better. Less is more when it comes to makeup, usually. A bit to enhance the looks the purdiest. At least that's what I prefer to look at.

This is how modders get skipped and their work diminished. People read this, and they go download someone elses stuff instead. I'll make a comparison when I'm back from the store, because Yes, obviously this is actually important to me. I didn't work my butt off for weeks so people could go "meh, barely see the difference".Kyrene wrote...
I tend to agree. The difference is way too slight for me to even... No offence to the mod maker; I have modded stuff myself in the past, so I know it must have been hard work. It's just, seen at the ingame resolution it's maybe a 10% improvement.

Well, if you need to use flycam and zoom in just to see the improvement, is it much of an improvement?Ottemis wrote...

Okay...? So just because you made it, and just because you only post here anymore, and just because you only share it here, nobody's allowed to not think it is great? Come on 'mis, that is nonsensical. So if I go out of my way to solute (sic) this for a part of the playerbase, I'd like for that effort to not be diminished (especially not in the only thread I visit, because this is also the only place I openly share my mods).

PS: Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that as a console player not being able to take advantage of mods, you'd maybe even feel a need to diminish it, because you have no access to it. PC players sit closer to their screens, PC players can utilize flycam and zoom in, it matters. I'd much rather have had Bioware deliver us with better textures (and they could have even at current filesize, the detail is abominable) but they didn't. So if I go out of my way to solute this for a part of the playerbase, I'd like for that effort to not be diminished (especially not in the only thread I visit, because this is also the only place I openly share my mods).

I said, "some might even", not "every console player does XY". It was a general comment, not something anybody needs to defend themselves against. And not caring about the texture-quality is something entirely different than saying you barely notice the difference.Flies_by_Handles wrote...
Hmm, as a console player I certainly don't feel a "need" to diminish yours or any other modder's work and keep in mind that while you might sit closer to your screen, console players tend to play on much larger screens so it's not as though we don't notice clipping and what not. For some, the improvement in resolution is not very important. They'd rather play the game rather than constantly tinker with the settings each time the game is booted up. Or maybe they just don't notice it and find the game enjoyable enough.Ottemis wrote...

Half the modding thread has been using my mod for months, personally I notice the difference and recognize my mod everytime. If people haven't by now, I don't think, on second thought and in light of this discussion, I even want to stick the effort into defending my mod in therms of comparison shots when I should be feeling non-crappy, cleaning my bathroom because I've got some friends coming over from Germany, and I SHOULD be feeling happy right now.Kyrene wrote...
Perhaps those tow pictures Red used are just a bad example. I'm open to being convinced that the effort was worth it when you reply. At this stage I just don't see it.

Maybe it's because victory is assured. Other races cheer when the Reapers are defeated, but femShep may not smile?!? I don't...Flies_by_Handles wrote...
The smile is silly and doesn't fit what is going on behind her. I'd have preferred a stern expression, maybe even a roughed up face.

Well to be honest here, I've been using the particular armor mod by Ottemis since he/she releashed it (so I'm quallified to speak up my mind) and it is the best I've come across yet. Many guys tried to make a high res version of the N7 femshep armor and Ottemis is the only one that managed to keep the upper chest area smooth enough, at least amongst the ones I've used thus far. Modifying the armors in general is really hard work, there are so many files a modder has to work with, I give credit to them all for being kind enough to share their work with us but that's my own opinion on the matter. (IBR, smarteck, ellisse did a great job as well)Kyrene wrote...

Ah, I know how that can be a bit frustrating at times, especially if you have your eyes on a specific mod! Regarding Flycam in ME1 , I found it pretty hard to find directions on the web that worked fine for me in game, so I tried editing the files by myself and it worked. Finally!LadyAly wrote...

I would be so happy if the biotics are better to capture in a screen - flycam wont work - also ME2 or better Steam -is resisting to use some mods. So Kayleigh couldn't keep her scars from ME1.
But in my Headcannon Project Lazarus solved it - it will return in ME3, though, cause I love the scars. I made Kayleigh initially in ME3 and recreated her back to ME 1 with Tup3xi awesome slider tool [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/w00t.png[/smilie] . Now she will be soon here in her originally style and look [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie]

I've not touched Mass Effect in a while (still waiting for more substantial DLC.) But I still check-in!
Did this real quick today - guess I was inspired by the new wallpaper. I like default, but the makeup is too heavy for my taste.
I used textures from these mods-

@ELE: Less makeup on her definitely looks much better. Another thing that bothers me about this official wallpaper is that it looks as though Shepard took a trip to Sears and had her picture taken in front of a destroyed city backdrop. The smile is silly and doesn't fit what is going on behind her. I'd have preferred a stern expression, maybe even a roughed up face.

You textures are great and the difference is massive.
The bigger the object the more obvious it is. Meonlyred's pictures were quite heavily compressed too which smudges the fine detail.

Indra likes Ashley's dedication to the Alliance and appreciates her ballsy demeanor, although you would never guess this were the case given how often Indra asserts her command, or rather, puts on a show of being in command. And while Indra won't tolerate any outspoken reservations about her time with Cerberus, deep down she understands where Ashley is coming from. There's a sisterly bond between the two that neither would like to admit. If Indra's parents had more children, Ashley is precisely the kind of girl Indra would have roamed the colony with.
Another character Indra respects: Aria. I think Indra is one to shun the proper way of doing things if it can be accomplished much more effectively through less savory methods....
