Thanks, though I wonder what you find puzzling? I'm worried that maybe I'm not very good at talking about her, even for just a little bit.

The smile is silly and doesn't fit what is going on behind her. I'd have preferred a stern expression, maybe even a roughed up face.

Maybe it's because victory is assured. Other races cheer when the Reapers are defeated, but femShep may not smile?!? I don't...

  ...not sure. Looks like the beginning of the fight on Earth.

Except Shepard was only on Earth in Vancouver in the middle of the day and in London at night. That picture has dawn breaking... the/some morning after the breath scene, perhaps?

Ugh yeah it makes a huge difference. I wish loading Texmod with ME3 wasn't such a pain in the butt (although I finally tried the batch file loader thing, which does make it a LOT easier...) I guess we'll see how I feel when I get to ME3 this time around, haha.

I don't bother to use it most of the time for ME2, either, for that matter. I did for ME1 because I really could not abide by Garrus's face... but even though a lot of low res textures in ME2 do bother me... I don't use it most of the time.

I think it's partly because I know that once I start using it regularly, the floodgates will be open and I'll be like "WELP if I'm gonna load Texmod anyway, I might as well mod EVERYTHING ALL THE THINGS ALL OF THEM" and then I'll be like Ottemis and never actually play the game hahaha

That's what happened to me in Skyrim and Dragon Age at least, lol

edit: And because there aren't any pictures yet on this page and I'm still playing catch-up with my Naomi posts, here are some more of her running around wreaking havoc:

If there was a way to change textures in ME games without texmod, I'd do it but now it's a pain. If it was like in Skyrim then for sure (just enabled one texture fix today).

Little ini tweaking can make surprising difference in ME1 since by default at least I didn't get the best spec maps when I maxed out everything in game. While it doesn't fix the Garrus's face, it makes it much more bearable.

What exact ME1 .ini changes did you make to get those results?

I have shutdown my PC now and I'm currently surfing with my phone before trying to sleep so I can't post the exact stuff before tomorrow but it's the texture lod groups.

 Haha. Now we are really stretching it. Shepard managed to find and reassemble her torn armor and put on makeup just so that she can pose in front of the city. :lol:

This 'can' replace textures in the actual game, repack them. Only have to do it once, BUT (big but) it's horrifyingly complex. Game-breakingly complex, time sink.
If you're interested though, I'm sure you'll get it to work, but i'd definately try it on a game-copy before doing anythign to your main install.

Haha, yeah, I gathered as much.
And it seems like you can edit actual static meshes with it too!
Which means... new outfits for Femshep? If I had infinite time on my hands and got really good at Maya, that is...

I know they planned it, but last I heard the only thing properly functional is the texture-replace. I could be wrong, my info is a bit outdated no doubt.

Did anyone else see the new FemShep wallpaper? I hope this isn't all there is to the "surprise for FemShep" since MaleShep got the boxset cover.

Yes.  That's the "surprise."

I think @masseffect realized they had potentially overhyped it and posted this in a reply:
... just a small "thank you" for FemShep fans ...

To be honest, I was expecting a poster of one of the established works of art or some such.  A wallpaper is not far off from that.

Sorry for not answering earlier. Got caught up in some things.
It's a little hard to explain how i feel about her.
She has a good grasp on how differently poeple react to certain things, and with that knowledge, asserts her views and presents herself a certain way  - leaving no doubts about where she stands. At the same time she seems to express reservations about that whole process.

Now, now. Don't go and strawman there, Flies. :police: My argument is that she is 'posing' (in your words) before some major "Take Back Earth" offensive the/some morning after the breath scene. You have not countered that. My argument is also that it would be okay for her to not be all 'serious business' in that case. We be winning, perhaps...

Interesting aside: it's not just "the city" but a mashup up various city's elements (Hiroshima and London among the ones I've seen mentioned). Symbolic perhaps?

@N76Calibrator Very cool artwork :wizard:
@raziel1980 HEY - Nice to see you und Gabby back :happy:

@Tup3xi Well I tried it out and the game crashed completely. So I never tried it again.  ME2 has the problem if I use a lot of texture mods I get lags and I hate lags:P So I stopped to use TexMod for ME2.
I definitive give the flycam another shot after complete Kayleighs runthrough.

@Flies_by_Handles
Indra is indeed a very complex and wonderful made Shep. I like to read what she is thinking and how she is handle the different situations. BTW the Portrait Shot is awesome

@merylisk Naomi is causing havoc with style, thats for sure. I love the scene if Grunt tries to threaten her :P

  Oh yeah, I definitely do see her as someone that feels the need to always present herself as an uncompromising officer who knows what's up. She's naturally domineering and straight forward but I feel that at certain points in her life she would really like to drop the hardened attitude. It's simply impossible for her to do because of habit and the expectations of others (once people know you in a certain way, it's hard to show yourself from another angle). I think one of her major problems is not being able to reconcile a softer, more understanding side, and a need to push her childhood trauma to the wayside. She credits her strength for surviving Batarian slavery but does not like to aknowledge that some things are simply out of your control, no matter how hardened you may be.

@Merlisk: Love that close up screen of Naomi against Grunt. I remember how Shepard had her gun at the ready. :whistle:

@Lady Aly: Thanks for the comment. You seem to use Jack often? Is that because she has some similarities to Kayleigh?

@Kyrene: Okay, I think we are analyzing this poster a bit hard. :happy: Let's just say it's a stylized piece of work that doesn't accurately portray what would happen in game...
~

 Anyhow, I really like suiting Indra up in heavy armor even though she is an adept. I like making her look top heavy, thus a little more masculine. Oddly enough, I associate the color pink with her. Pink and sometimes red which go surprisingly well together with the armor set up.

Posted Image

Posted Image

I used to call the top armor piece "cow-teet" armor because of those odd....circles but I loved the way the backside looked and so onto Indra it goes:

Replace ME1 [TextureLODSettings] with this: http://pastebin.com/3z4qrVk4. Then I'd also at least change SkeletalMeshLODBias=-4.

@Ottemis
That's just so adorable, cute and sad at the same time. :crying:

That tool looks interesting! I have to check it out...

@LadyAly
If you hardware is not up to it then I'm not surprised if it texmod causes crashing. Maybe it runs out of RAM and VRAM. Also it looks like people with Radeons tend to have more issues with texmod. And yay for gun pointing!

@Gothic Reaper YAY for smugness grin - who could resist this ?

@Files .. and EDI / Liara approves :happy:
About Jack - Kayleigh respects her. Jack never gave up and never made any excuse for her doings. Both going very well along in fights - mix 2 biotics and you have hell ^_^
She is also amused about the conflict between the *Cheerleader* and Jack, even if Miranda is closer to Kayleigh.

@Tup3xi Its surely not the RAM or VRAM - but I have indeed a Radeon 57series graph. But you must admitt Steam is a **** sometimes, too. I just noticed it again as I started play Skyrim - Dawnguard. Was a pain in the ass to get the game running again and it was Steam problem.

Oh - why not post  a Pic of her ?
She is something like a Medivial Shepard - fighting the odds. Here is my sexy Redguard Warrior Becca -
