I'm avoiding that issue by recording lossless video. Then I pick the right frames with virtual dub. :devil:

Oh god, this is so true. Even moreso when you are trying to get screencaps to make yourself a wallpaper.

Only 1680x1050, red? I am dissapoint!

I kid. I'm guessing that's the monitor's native resolution. What GPU did you get for your rig?

We recently got my wife a new rig, and the 23" monitor allows for 1920x1080 native resolution. To tell the truth, I'm starting to get a bit jealous of what we named (computer name on the LAN) "Beast."

Hope you enjoy your new machine anyway!

Funny how different picture can make Shep look 10 years older or younger. Or I am just seeing things? Example:

As as side not, when Kepler comes out it will be instant buy (together with Ivy Bridge). Not that I have any performance issues with my system but I do swapping with my bro and his system is ageing pretty badly.

Your right.  Very contrasting pics when you look at them

The lighting in the top pic makes her look very fair and youthful.  The way she scratching her head adds a context of confusion and lack of understanding which adds to it.  The second pic you can see blemishes and lines by her eyes adding age.  Additionally she looks stern and focused with a set agenda which shows a sense of wisdom and determination which the former picture lacks.
A picture tells 1000 words.  Certainly the case in comparing these  B)

Pink light and grey light. You often see it in advertising, where scenes concerning an unwanted/old/undesirable product/look are greyed out in comparison to Brand X/what Brand X can do for you scenes in full/warm colour. Pink light again is much used in fashion/cosmetic advertising.
***
On a different tangent, I've been meaning to ask what INI tweaks you use for game settings (apart from possibly also using hi-res textures)? I recently saw someone (I think it was in the ME3 hi-res thread) post additional settings to manually add to gamesettings.ini and want to compare.

This is my .ini:
http://www.mediafire...merSettings.ini

Few words about it. Naturally everything under [AppCompat] is automatically generated. [SaveGames] - obvious, put your own ME1 save path there. The things under [Engine.Engine] and [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice] more than likely do nothing but I have them anyway (it doesn't hurt anything.)

I cap my frame rate to 75 FPS since my monitor does 1920x1080 at 75Hz. This might not be needed since I believe that it is enough just to use MaxSmoothedFrameRate=75 under [SystemSettings]. It doesn't really matter to people who are using 60Hz monitors.
[Engine.GameEngine]
bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=75

Texture lod settings under [SystemSettings] are to ensure that highest quality spec maps etv. are used. In ME1 you had to change those manually since maxing out those wasn't possible without tweaking the ini. It does look like ME2 doesn't have that issue any more but just in case. I personally keep filmgrain on in ME2 since it adds some extra roughness to the overly clean look. It sucked big time in ME1, though - ME2 version looks much better.

Then I have 8xMSAA+4xTrSSAA forced through NVIDIA CP, 16xAF+Trilinear filtering via .ini. It's unbelievable that they did not have trilinear filtering enabled in ME1 and ME2 by default. Bilinear filtering + anisotropic filtering will still cause banding effects in filtering (i.e. lines in texture filtering).

I do not use and mods.

Usually go with the dark skin/light eyes combo for Femshep. Tried something different and went for more Asian features this time around. Still has blue eyes tho, lol.
My Shep was meant to be a renegade and hardass but I couldn't go through with some decisions (killing rachni, killing Feros colonists) so she's a softie at heart but shows no mercy to her enemies. Will try and get an image up but am playing on 360 so it's a bit difficult.

Um, I think it would be a good time to say HIIIII to all of you!

I should go.
