I'm going to say Alliance Surplus, Faye is kind of a troll. Role playing wise I can see her doing it just to ****** everyone on the ship off. A uniform wouldn't be hard to get. I have a Marine Corps jacket, a Naval long coat, and boots that I wear all the time. The jacket was from grandfather, given it is over 40 years old but still. And the long coat and boots from a surplus. When my brother and I were kids we had a full uniform that we would play in. ...Great now I want to go back there and shop. Ma'am wants herself a new nightstick.

As for the beret in spaaaaaaaaace. Ahem... I don't want just the beret while on the Collector ship or in vacuum. That nags on me a little bit too. But in oxygen filled areas I keep imagining her like Indiana Jones, gets her hat knocked off by some jerk, blasted a hole in his chest the size of her fist. And goes and picks up her hat.

Quit ruining my game! *Sobs* Nah j/k. I get what you are saying though. I just can't stand wearing the Cerberus logos. Once I learned how I added in the other causal outfits. Especially for my main Shepard who is a sole survivor, the thought of her wearing a branded Cerberus outfit makes my skin crawl. Yeah I'm one of those Alliance elitist. I'm not going to go off and say, 'my Shepard would never work for Cerberus! I hate playing ME2! Bahh!' I'm fine with the fact she did it for the good of all, the 'enemy of my enemy,' and such. Its a reminder that while she is mine, she is ultimately Bioware's character. I can only control how Captain Picard to Dirty Harry she acts.

As what Akari and Interactive Civilian said, after the initial 'woooo Femshep' high wears off, can we please please PLEASE remember why we asked for this in the first place? Because of the dedication of several of the the Femshep community asking and poking at the devs we now have this. The Shepard you see in the trailer is Bioware's Shepard. Please have the same respect for her as you would one of your fellow FemShepers. That goes for what she looks like, the actions she does, and who her LI may or may not be. You will find you can post anything about your Shepard you want and no one here will say, '______ about your Shepard is stupid.' Please carry over that same level of respect.

I should apologize Yuki, I'm not so much falling over your argument as I am the crowd you're indirectly appeasing with doing such a thing. I'm allergic to perpetuating the validity of certain behavior by doing something that 1. shouldn't be necessary and 2. breaks potential impact something could have had.

Given that Sheploo has always had significant romance content in his trailers I'm not sure why it would be bad thing for FemShep to be getting some (briefly) in her trailer.

But that's just me.

Oh yeah I love Tech Armour on a FemSentinel. Looks badass. I like the beret too, but I just love my sniper visor too much to give it up, And my immersion doesn't really break from stuff like atmosphere or whatevs.

What constitutes "universal," though?  Some people seem to be saying that if a character is dead in their game, they should never be subjected to seeing them in marketing...so I guess neither Ashley nor Kaidan could be included in any way, and since Tali and Garrus can die, they shouldn't be seen at all. I don't have anything against Liara or Vega, but only seeing them in trailers and screenshots would be dull. I also would love to see more of the ME2 squad mates, and they're not universally alive in all games. 

I definitely get what you're saying about leaving romance out of this particular trailer (although if trailers with female versions of the protagonist became common, I wouldn't mind...M!Hawke kissing Isabela in the DA2 trailer didn't ruin other romances, for example), and I don't want to see FemShep in her underwear in any context in this trailer, but I think there are just too many variables to account for to make a truly universal trailer. I'm never going to play as Default FemShep, most likely, so I'm not really worried if she's portrayed differently than my own head canon for Shepard.

Well, I don't necessarily like all the romances available in both games, but I have no problem with the choices people make.
That said, I don't give a hoot who femShep will be kissing in the trailer, if anyone at all, i'm just happy that we are getting a femShep-Trailer

I just read on Sam Hulick's twitter that the music playing 
here in the Ruthless/Intelligent enemies is his. Awesome, right? It gives me the shivers. Musically, I think his work defined the series for me.

Don't mind Sam's comment about FemShep's undies. I think he's a sweet guy who means well. Honestly, if it were BroShep in his undies, I'd have to squee a little myself.

I love playing the Sentinel class. The tech armor looked ok on Femshep. I know some didn't like it.
That would be awesome if we could customize the Sentinel armor! 

I love playing Sentinel, too--I die SO much less on Insanity than with any other class! I'm doing Infiltrator on Insanity right now and it's making me a crazy woman. 

I would FLIP if we could customize in ME3. I might waver on my resolve to be an Infiltrator! The demo will be the deciding factor.

That's me, too. I respect Yuki's opinion, and I don't think it sends a bad message for FemShep to be focused on her mission rather than romance, but then again... ManShep taps it all the time in trailers, and what's good for the gander is good for the goose. 

The crappy part is, if she snogged no one it's like, "why does ManShep get all the love?" and it doesn't show the roleplaying potential of the game, nor does it hook the average female gamer as strongly as a trailer with some romance in it would. That's bad. If she snogged Liara it would be capitalizing on GirlOnGirlIsHot for male audiences in my mind, and it would feed into that "female soldiers are all man-hating lesbians" stupid bs stereotype, and if she snogs only one LI then it bugs some people because it's not their chosen LI, and if she snogs ALL LIs then, in place of what would happen with DudeShep, it's like, "Oh look! FemShep's a ho!" because double standard.

*heavy sigh* Yeah, when I really think about it, I'm not sure what to do. I think the last option is the best, I really do, but I don't know if it would make her look good or not. And I do care about how she's perceived, even if I shouldn't. I want people to see her depths like we do. 

Ideally--maybe we see something like the story trailer, where FemShep has to choose between Liara and Kaidan, who both want to get in the sack with her. As long as neither has had a relationship with her before (and you can start new romances with them, as I hear it) it can be without her indicating who she actually wants until they show you the A/B options. That could be brilliant, IMO. 

I hope they do a romance-related trailer with both genders of Shep--that would rock and it would make me forget the entire dilemma. Much like this fan trailer, set to Alicia Keys:

I dunno. I see romances as a lot more personal to the player than Bioware picking a VS to feature or including characters who would be alive in the default world state for new players. Since, in that case, it is also being geared to new players who would see these characters if they're not importing. I doubt there's a default romance for non-import players. Kaidan isn't the issue here, it's any LI. I am not saying that 'more universal' has to mean that they not show anything that is variable ever, just that in the case of romance it is different. I don't like it for Sheploo either, especially since in his case the amazing female characters are often reduced to 'lol i can get with hot chix' in those.

I am not saying I want BioWare Shepard to do everything I do when I play. She's not my character. No big. What I am saying is that there are some instances where I don't feel romance is needed, and a trailer is one of them. Especially when some people are acting like the lack of any romance in the trailer makes Shepard seem cold and inhuman as if the only way to show that she is a human being is to make her go kissyface. I am not going to fall over and die if Shepard doesn't act 1000000000% like I want her to. I understand she's a marketing figurehead, lmfao.

Sheploo got with Miranda but it didn't bother me. She was just one of the romances I played with a custom MShep of mine. Similarly if FemShep gets some loving from Kaidan (my bet on who they'll pick), that'll be fine.

The trailers just show one version of the Shepard story to attract new people and excite the rest of us veterans. The actually story is whatever you choose it to be. So FemShep + LI + brief romance scene in trailer = good idea for mine.

I really don't see where you got that from.
And no, some people are acting like the world would end to see Femshep with an LI that isn't their own. Which was why I argued against your point in the first place, because I'll be damned if Bioware makes a choice motivated (however much) by childish moaning of some fans that can't stand to see others happy.

And not seeing any LI, that ship has sailed with the countless trailers that came before this one, femshep or no.
Not to say it's not possible, or unlikely, just not something to campaign for (or rather against).

Wow! You played that? As I recall that game was the first in a long line to force me to upgrade my PC. My 286 was just too light in the CPU to run it. Mind you, QfG 2 is still my alltime favourite game, even above Mass Effect. I think it's the nostalgia value. And now I feel a little old too.

Still saying be prepare to see Femshep with someone. All the trailers before have figured Sheploo making out with someone. ME1 showed the romance scene with Ash and ManShep. ME2 showed the renegade rough sex between Jack and Shepard as well as the engine room scene with Miranda. And the LotSB shows Shepard kissing Liara. And if memory serves I think there was one with Sheploo taking off Tali's mask. So, if we don't see Femshep with someone, I'm going to feel sorry of the old girl. Why can't she get some space hotties too?
