I quite like the haircuts. More options always better but I can't see myself making a Shep with long hair or anything.
I'd love to have a long hair option for my dude Shep. Something nice looking.

If the community wants to be divided sexually, then I can either support their decision (which will result in the thread continuing) or I can argue on the immorality of it (which will result in the thread continuing).
For once in my life I'm not going to do what is right and argue for true equality, shared opportunity, etc. I'm going to take the easy route, and just go with it.

What you're doing here is why there's hostility. I'd cease.TS2Aggie wrote...

Despite the fact that I agree with you 100%, you need to face facts. There are a great deal of femShep supporters that will not tolerate maleShepard getting any attention at all. At. All. Because in their mind, you're either with them (femShep supporters) or you're against them. To them, there is no happy medium; to them, it is impossible to support Commander Shepard as a character and not as one specific gender. They are the ones enforcing this gender divide, and there's nothing people like us can do about it. If they specifically desire gender segregation (and force a fandom split), they will get it. And they did.

The days of just being a fan of the game are over. You're not allowed to be a fan of both incarnations of the same character.

Well, pot <-> kettle, let's drop it and move on. Looking back is aproductive, specially in our current situation. I'd like to see each of the threads stay civil where both and/or either fans can share and enjoy themselvesTS2Aggie wrote...
Nope. What I'm doing here is expressing frustration on what they've done to the community as a whole.

There have been bad moments for both Shep teams. Its not all them. Its not all us. But the Commander Shepard thread proved that they could not only coexist, but thrive quite well together. And, as I tried to state before, using words like "them" and "they" can be a nasty way to stereotype entire groups.
But, alas, you are right. Facts are facts. If people actually seem happier in segregated communities, than no amount of me moaning about how integration allows for cooperation and illumination is going to change anything.

I'm sorry, but, what? This is just 100% untrue. I have several shepard's of both genders and I play them equally.my two canon's of both genders are Siblings in my headcanon (my male shep is a self insert so he's younger than my femshep so she's THE Commander Shepard in my story) I AM a fan of both Genders but femshep is under represented on the BSN and in marketting so I refer to Shepard with "she" most times but I love my dudesheps just like I love my femsheps. When Woo said I could make a femshep thread he didn't mention a dudeshep thread, but I asked Ottemis to make one so there could be some unity between the two fan bases without competition. This way we can cut down on the shots at either gender and have a positive thriving community for both.TS2Aggie wrote...

Well I agree it would be a noble goal, but (and not to rail on you but to emphasize the problem) your preconception about femshep fans as you've just voiced isn't going to clear the air nor promote a combined thread is it?TS2Aggie wrote...

I truly wish that fans could just be fans without people dragging real life politics into it, but it seems that is a pipe dream. Seems the fight for equality is going to be a long, hard battle since we have to fight with everyone and not just one gender.
