Already I'm seeing
1. newcomers on both sides and
2. cross visitors that didn't frequent the combined thread.
In my book that's win, so let's hope that continues.
Of course. I just don't want (what I feel is) the illusion of cross Shep-fan cooperation to trump the actual progress made in (what I feel is) the Commander Shepard thread.
Now, I know the counter reply to this:
why can't they all exist? Why does there only have to be one? Because, within 2 months, one of these threads will inevitably be abandoned by users. No, its nobody's fault, but, as proven on the ME2 (and I also think the ME1 thread) having so many threads about one subject just doesn't work. As such, I favor the one with the best moral premise.

Certain fans of [sex]Shepard were uncomfortable with using that thread/working with other users. Are you excluding their voices?
Being uncomfortable with something doesn't mean you should shy away from it completely-- at least without first making an attempt at understanding it. Yes, I don't have the right to tell you that you no longer have a place on this forum... but femShep only fans
have their own site devoted to them, and one of the greatest and longest threads on BSN. There's really not much reason for them to feel "surrounded by hostility" or "harrassed".

I know one popular argument against the shared thread has been "you can't make a second chance at a first impression" -- to which I reply simply: yes you can. Get over yourself and try again.
