Like just completely straight? No swing both ways according to the PC's gender? I hope not, I personally think it's better if certain characters are a certain orientation and stay that way. If one is straight then that's all they are, if one is bi then yay, or gay ect.. I don't have any problem with sexual orientation but a DA2 situation becomes just unrealistic. Yeah I know it's a fantasy game and it's nice everyone gets their slice of pie, but I do think character development takes a hit when you make everyone bi.

That's what I think. As for what will happen, if Bioware wants to please everyone regardless of plot lines then yes straight people (and gay people) will disappear, however I hope they've taken our comments into consideration before they do that.

@ Eshaye : Yep the same as DA2, basically : Someone gave the idea :

" Budget is the reason all LI can be romanced by a Hawke of either sex. It maximizes the amount of romance subplots available to the player with the minimum investment. It's cheaper to write four romances and then pronoun swap than to write three different romances for each gender (As they would allot to six different romances in this case). "

He did it because people were arguing which thread should be allowed to be open and which LI was better then another. Those topics are not allowed.

So be respectful of everyone's chosen LI and talk about hetero relationships. Which is what we were doing. ?!

And I am pretty sure that I read several times in the S / s thread, that thing about they are all bi, they gave their opinions on it, we can do it too, since it affects what we are talking about in this thread, heterosexual relationships.

Also, I do agree with you on the matter, Eshaye.

Character developement takes a MUCH bigger hit when like As or Miranda do not care at all that they're dating a guy who beats other women for no reason. It also takes huge hit when LIs date Shep who's done things completly opposite & incompatible to their own moral standards & criterias. And it's also unrealistic when 90% of ManShep's female squadmates are hot for him. These are all unrealistic aspects already present in Mass Effect romances. Compared to that, 'all-bi' is such an insignificant issue.

Mass Effect romances were designed to allow players to further customize their Sheps. They're realistic in cinematics presenation, motion-capturing, dialogues, but NOT in the conditionals for accessability of romances. You can have the most ugly Shep in the world and everyone will still be into you. You may have the most Renegade/Paragon Shep in the world and the potential LIs of the completly opposite spectrum of morality will STILL be into you and available to romance. This was BioWare's concious design approach to romances, to have them be accessible to all Sheps. If the decision was made that LIs would disregard morals, looks & actions when it comes to Shep hitting on them, then having them diregard gender only makes the design approach more cohesive.

Let's be honest, singling out sexual orientation from all the other conditionals of accessability of LIs (by both BioWare and the players) as if it's the most important and key aspect that determines character developement and should be treated realistically while everything else doesn't have to be, is "rather" selective stance on realism in romances. Especially considering how much more important to the story AND chracter developement morals & choices are in Mass Effect franchise, compared to sexual orientation which plays next to no role in this series.

I don't disagree with the above at all. Relationships should be handled more organically and not be so in your face all the time from every possible romantic character, only IF it's that character's personality, I don't expect Kelly to NOT hit on Shepard for example, that's part of who she is. But Miranda? No I see her as being a lot more reserved, Shep should be doing all the come ons there. That's also part of my point why certain characters should stay hetero or otherwise. 

And I won't say more on that topic because nothing you've brought up will really change my mind on that. I understand where you are coming from but I think a character's nature and background is more important then making sure everyone gets who they want.

Everyone is selective with the realism. Everyone. The only difference,  is the degree of importance we attach to certain things or not in our eyes.

I saw lots of pro S / s saying it's a high fantasy game to defend They Are all bi system, but at the same time, they were crying about the breathing mask, said that the customization was not realistic because in real life we do not order to other to dress like we want.

Or lesbians saying that it was not realistic that isabela didn't wear an armor.

Everyone is selective.

Well, I always admitted that if it wasn't too important to my eyes, I could accept some things unrealistic. For example, Breathing masks do not bother me. That's only a detail. But when I see Jack almost naked in M2, while she is fighting, that makes me cringe. She could at least wear something that protects her a bit. I can't stand to have her at my side until I get the alternative outfit.

And I didn't read the leaked script. Can you please tell me who is already known as straight ?
