Regardless of what path it takes, it will probably irritate most people when the narrative takes a different path than the one they took in their personal "canon" story.

Q: Will it just be an adaptation of the first game, second game, or a completely new story?
A: It will be a completely new story
Q: How are you going to address the element of ‘choice’ that the players have in the game?
A: A movie narrative is different than gameplay. There won’t be a choice aspect to this film, just a normal film narrative.
Q: Will it be a trilogy?
A: We are really focused on making this a great movie, so we’ll see where it takes us. We have to get the first one right to know whether there will be more.
Q: Will Seth Green portray Joker (that character he voiced in the game?)
A: No.

It has been recently edited to show that it will be focused on the first game. That is what we are discussing.

I demand Shepard to be played by me! Casey Hudson stated that "there is no canon" in Mass Effect, so my Shepard is what he acctually looks like! Also, all the decisions should be made just like i would do them!

Steve Buscemi should play Kaidan, and James Earl Jones should voice Sovereign!

Yeah, I wonder how they'll make it work. I do still have every intention to see it. I have faith in Legendary, and they are still working closely with BioWare.

Pretty much. Don't really care much to watch a film adaptation of a game based on choice.

You dont know how your choices will outcome yet, maybe the movie going to be about a "right-choice" straight through.
Maybe som choices are right and some are wrong and bad.

So you're saying that the original answers to the questions, what the folks actually said are the ones listed here above?  And that later on someone went into imdb and changed the answers to what is reflected in the OP?  Sounds like someone is trollin' yo.  I mean even if there is new information you can't just change the answers to a panel that already happened.

It says that they're gonna chose options that best fit the story and characters so it's not like it'll be full paragon/full renegade or whatever... It will have a mix so everyone will have some of their choses in it. I'm still excited for it!

No. What is in the OP is DIRECTLY from Legendary. It's not just someone on IMDB.. I didn't even get the interview from IMDB.. it comes straight from Legendary, it's official. Legendary Pictures changed their answers on their main site.

You don't really "play" the Mass Effect narrative so much as passively observe it happening with very little game play involved. So that makes it almost a movie already.

I could not agree with you more it was really like Final Fantasy XIII it only begrudgingly invited you to participate.

I think out of all video game movies this one by far has the greatest potential. First off it already has a deep story and character development, thanks to the rpg element. The game plays like a movie. I don't think any of the other big production video game movies had that. Legendary don't screw this up. You can do it + you have bioware overseeing the project.

Frankly, I doubt very much the movie will be any good at all, if it ever comes out.  There ISN'T a good way to trim a story of Mass Effect's size down to 2 or 3 hours tops.  It'll either be horribly rushed or it'll be changed and no longer be the ME we fell in love with.  Lack of Seth Green also doesn't help at all.

I'd still see it, since why the hell not, I guess.  I also agree with, as has been pointed out ad nauseum, MY Commander Shepard isn't in this movie.  Her dialogue and feelings won't be in it, many of my choices won't be.  It'll be a flash in the pan at best (something flawes and that I don't feel invested in but am at least entertained by) and an abomination at worst; from my perspective, anyway.

Guys calm down. There is no "official canon". The movie is also not establishing an official canon. The "official" canon is YOUR playthrough. When I see the movie I won't think of it as canon, but as a walkthrough of someone else playing the game. Many of you have multiple playthroughs, and some of those playthroughs are for fun. That is what this movie will be to me. So don't take it so personal, just remember that your canon is your playthrough.

Couldn't of said it better. My canon is full-paragon MaleShep faithful to Liara.. This movie will just be another playthrough. A cool one because it'll be live action.
