Pfft, I WANT that to happen. I'm tired of leaders sitting behind desks being well protected. I want leaders to be in front of their armies leading the charge!

Then again, I'm a Prince with experience in using weapons, so I'm biased. Still.

Shepard unleashing hell upon foes is kickass.

Just several "just logic, nothing personal" moments.


From "only people with military experience allowed":

ME1 Liara and Tali. Great job dragging two civilians, even if it's civilians capable of self defense, in firefight.

ME2 Thane and Kasumi. Saw stealth missions anywhere? What exactly are they supposed to do, sneak to Collectors, kill their general and steal their ship?


From "too important for firefight":

ME1 Liara. Sudden shot and you've lost your only prothean expert.

ME3 Liara. Sudden shot and you've lost your only prothean expert AND Shadow Broker.

ME3 Kaidan. Major of decimated Alliance military? Go commanding.

Several people according to spoilers.


From "U mad, Shepard?"

Any alien to xenophobe Shepard (several of them are forced recruitments).

Samara to renegade Shepard (who gave him this glorious idea to recruit knight-templar?)

Legion. How many chances there were that "house divided" isn't a trap?


From "but that's classified information":

ME1 Wrex and Tali. Especially Tali who constantly stands by engines.

ME2 Jack, Kasumi, probably Thane, and Legion.


From "x_x vacuum":

ME2 Miranda, Jacob, Mordin, Jack, Samara, Morinth, Thane, Kasumi, Zaeed. Maybe Grunt, depending on properties of his arms.

ME3 Liara.

Lieutenant Commander isn't that high of a rank. Its equal to Major who usually goes to battle.

Then again I like Liara, her development as a character.

Jacob: a complete wasted space
He should have died on Freedom´s Progress and you would have gotten Tali with Miranda
Tali: Fanservice. Both, a civilian and a quarian? You lost me here BW.
Garrus: He´s a loser. Not really that cool and plot-wisely absolutely meaningless.
Grunt: Although, i like Grunt, Wrex is Wrex. Shepard. Wrex.
Zaeed and Kasumi: BW could have creatd one full and meaningfull character instead of these two.
Zaeed is great, alot better than Jacob and Kasumi is a good character too, but they still feel like lacking something.
Liara: Really? Do i even need a good explanation for this?
I would have much willingly taken Shiala aboard the Normandy and executed Liara for being the Matriarch`s daughter. Yeah, seriously.

Tali: Weakest squadmate in the game. Lorewise

Ashley: God knows why we have to put up with. Her BY FAR the weakest worst waste of space.

Ash along with Tali are the weakest squadmate lorewise.

Eden prime was Ashleys first real firefight before that she never went to actual combat.


Liara at least is used to killing Mercenery, Raiders and pirate hordes in desolate Prothean ruins ALONE. That far more real combat experience and ability than Tali or Ashley.

Neither have any feats or hype.
Heck Wrex comments on Liara's prowess would be useful.

In anycase ppl who shouldnt be squadmate.
Kasumi, Zaeed, Jack, Thane are all useless plotwise.



Liara is the most important NPC/squadmate after Shepard. Alongside Anderson, TIM and Hackett. Who drive Me1, Me2 and Me3.

Tali,Garrus, Wrex,Legion,Mordin and Miranda who have good plot impact but are optional.

Thane, VS moderately important plot wise. They somewhat share the same arc.

Samara, Zaeed, Grunt, Jacob and Kasumi don't impact the trilogy at all much.

Well, not on the Alliance's scale. Apparently the grade of lieutenant commander is two grades below major for marines. It's...two grades above first lieutenant, and two grades below major. Major is apparently an equivalent grade to naval captain, replacing the rank of colonel. They've also replaced captains with 'staff lieutenants' and commanders with 'staff commanders' (apparently a confusion of staff and line officers? an amalgamation of what might have once been two systems of commissioned officer ranks into one? wtf?).

I think tht the writers of ME1 made the Alliance's military hierarchy dumber than modern military hierarchies just to change things in order to show that time has passed, regardless of whether the changes make sense.

Most useless imo were Kasumi followed by Jacob. A space thief really felt pointless and she wasn't terribly interesting, I'm more interested in that data from her loyalty mission. Jacob at least is a decent honest guy, but his powers and weapon selection has never let him off the ship outside his loyalty mission.

The only time I ever really asked myself why this character was even in the game was with Jacob. I felt he didn't really add much to the story nor was he a great squaddie to take into battle. I really have enjoyed all of the other squadmates however.

That's weird, Kasumi and Jacob were two of the best squadmates in terms of powers. 

Kasumi was just about as awesome as Miranda was: Shadow Strike was a debuff equivalent to Warp (better at direct damage, but no ability to detonate Warp bombs), and Flashbang Grenade was the best crowd-control power, hands down (certainly better to have around than Slam was). Her passive wasn't as good as Miri's was, but she made up for it in other ways.

Jacob was the single best pullbot of the game. Unlike Jack, he had both the weapons and the powers to successfully tank (Jack had a shotgun but no shield power), and unlike Samara, he had his Pull right out of the box. He also had Incendiary Ammo, which could be evolved to its squad form for sexy fun times. He was basically a sine qua non for biotic combo goodness. And, of course, Pull was not just good for combos but also for crowd control (Pull Field is in some ways better than Singularity).

Now, if you want to start talking useless from a powers standpoint, you have to start with Jack, Morinth, and Legion.

No TIM isn't a LI he was just trolling Jacob fans who got a crap ending and TIM fans who is perfectly incharacter and incompetent and not to the expectation of TIM's fans.
