This is an obvious troll. Does anyone have a Reaper on hand? This is one of the few pieces of scum I'm okay with the Reapers coming up and taking.

Maybe he'll give the Human Reaper Larvae indigestion.

If that's the case I call it a win-win.

Vega makes the least amount of sense. They have over a dozen characters that people already like and will miss, but they create Bryce Boltsman and replace one character with him. It's stupid.

Really, the only characters that did not need to be in the games, I would argue, are Thane and Samara.

Liara would have been just fine over Samara, and Thane...really does not add much of anything. I mean, the other characters at least take things that are already there, like Tali and the quarians, Jack and Cerberus, Garrus and the turians and C-Sec, Mordin and the genophage, and builds on them. Thane added a new species, a new character, a new everything for... sex appeal.

I mean, Zaeed and Kasumi weren't really integral to anything either, but at least they were a lot of fun. Thane just felt superfluous. Even Samara you can argue introduced the Ardat-Yakshi thing to the asari, I suppose.

I would argue that Vega already appears to have more character than many of the characters he is allegedly "replacing".

This is not only in the wrong section, but is also a horrible idea. It's like a big sign saying "Come here and character-bash!"

I never liked Tali. She had some use in ME1 but by ME2 she was just baggage.
Garrus I always felt was too fragile and there was always someone else better able to fill his position.
Grunt. Wrex is way better than Grunt.
Miranda. Her only purpose seemed to be that EA wanted the game sexed up.
Jacob. I never used him either.

Maybe it would be better to list the characters I do like. Mordin, Liara, Wrex, and Kasumi.

I seriously wished for a Mordin romance.

He's a human Garrus, with an ethnicity thrown in at random.

I agree with this. Vega-bashing's getting old.

Ultimately, I would argue people find their own reasons for liking characters, some more than others. Personally, I can't stand Miranda, but there are people out there who really like her character. I accept she is not for me, and enjoy the ones I do like, such as Tali, Garrus, Legion, Mordin, ect.

But this whole idea of "who should get the boot!?" is just asking for trouble, really.

James Vega, although because his voice actor sounds pretty cool I'll give him a chance.

Mass Effect should have never had any squadmates ever so it could be just another action-shooter-questing-thingy which would never capture my intellectual interest nor my emotional attachment.

The way some people go on, you would think this is how they actually feel.

The TIM/Jacob romance was a very fulfilling romance arc and I hope they continue it in Mass Effect 3.

Although there are characters I use and like more than others, I don't outright hate any characters.

Thane, Jack, Zaeed, Ash (I wouldn't mind if you started with her...but jenkins dies in 2 seconds..it feels rather forced so she doesn't really ease into the squad).

While there is one or two squadmates I outright despise, I understand why they are there and that they do appeal to some people.

And I can respect that.

Saying they should not be in the game at all because you don't like them is rather arrogant and outright pompous.

I'll be honest... I'd sacrifice every squad member if I could use their biotic souls to make myself more powerful. T.I.M. ain't got nothing on me! Actually I'll take his soul too...

Everyone but Liara, Garrus, Tali, Kasumi, Samara, Thane, and the spoiler squadmember.
