Morinth could have been better, yeah. I think she'd be real interesting of Shepard could survive sleeping with her. I'd love to see how she'd react to that. It might force her to eventually confront her past and lifestyle.

You should bring your positive attitude to the TIM thread, Cheez. Cheer them up a bit; they seem terribly angry all the time.

No, Legion ruined the geth for me. He took away everything that made them alien and mysterious. I hate Legion.

Yeah!

Or if, instead of a sex scene, they turned it on it's head. The culmination of her romance would have been her overcoming her addiction with Shepard's help. As the romance builds, she has withdrawals during her talks with him, and it gets bad.

And right before Omega 4, she and Shepard share a Paragon Jackmance style cuddling session. No sex, just being together.

I mean. again, the potential for some powerful stuff here was there, and it did not get used at all.

I don't go to the TIM thread.  The TIM thread comes to me.

And then attempts to lynch me.

That would have indeed been amazing.

Kudos to you Saph, that would have been interesting enough to kill Samara over.

Garrus. After we exposed saren he was unnecessary, i never liked him much either. He is very boring and making him the dark knight in me2 did not help my view of him either. He is basically the alien kaiden. I will work with him but i do not like them as characters nor do my shepards

As for unnecessary characters i would have to go with

Garrus- he does nothing relevant to the story

Thane- why did we need an assasin anyway?

Kasumi- why did we need a thief again?
etc
grunt and Zaeed are beasts in battle

Samara and jack are some of the most crazy biotics

miranda and jacob are cerberus
the professor was needed for to counteract the swarms

I have to say that every character from ME1 fit into the game except for Tali. Not to say I don't like her at all because I love her. My main canon character romanced Ash in the first game, but I think he's going to stick with Tali. He always found her adorable.

Anyway I did feel there was an excess of characters in ME2 though that were not entirely necessary, but than again on a suicide mission you should have some excess just in case people die. I never liked Zaeed and quite honestly he makes the least sense to have on a suicide mission as he never looks out for the team. Cerberus could've chosen a better mercenary soldier for the team. Kasumi I understand and like as a character. Felt she should've been in the game to begin with as y'know Cerberus is for the advancement of human race and she may be one of the best hackers and tech savvy people in the galaxy. Just a thought... The only person I really actually disliked and thought was unnecessary was Zaeed actually. I don't really look at Morinth as a squadmate. It's basically a way to get rid of Samara and allow Morinth freedom until the suicide mission is over.

Garrus- soldier and sniper
Grunt- unknown and was supposed to be Okeer initially, got a soldier (with an attitude problem)
Mordin- the best scientist in the galaxy most likely
Miranda- Illusive Man's number 2 in Lazarus Cell
Jacob- part of Lazarus Cell and pretty much your Lt. by Cerberus standards
Jack- best human biotic (Cerberus wants advancement of humans)
Samara- powerful biotic in case Jack goes down
Thane- assassin and second sniper in case Garrus goes down
Legion- unknown and unplanned, assets are good to have
Tali- one of the best hackers in the galaxy (also worked for Shepard before so calming influence) and also may improve the Normandy
Kasumi- best human hacker in the world (Cerberus is for advancement)

Now let's look at Zaeed. A soldier. Grunt and Legion are not predicted. Who are predicted soldiers? Garrus, Samara (to an extent), and Jacob. Add Grunt and Legion and you have 5 soldiers. What is Zaeed's purpose if he can't work as a team player? I always and forever will dislike Zaeed.

Morinth should've been earlier, that way we could've had an opportunity to appreciate her more.

Tali shouldn't have. It would've been nice to meet her and help her out in 1 and 2, then have her on the squad in 3 with the influence of her time away from you gradually changing her.

The TIM/Jacob romance was a very fulfilling romance arc and I hope they continue it in Mass Effect 3.

Anybody that will not be in your party for Mass Effect 3. The whole point of ME3 is closure and I won't feel closure for any characters from the first two games that can't be in my party, very disappointed.

I fail to see the point of so many characters if they're not going to be party members in the conclusion.

They're probably angry because Bioware's turned their game into an interspecies dating sim/ linear GoW shooter without any depth or moral greyness whatsoever. Because that's what ME3 is for sure.

Plus they can't have TIM's babies.

You've got to admit he's pretty impressive in the sense that he successfully managed to manipulate the majority of the audience into believing the ones who commit wide scale genocide on an entire species and murdered trillions of innocent non-combatants are the 'victims'.

I agree. ME3 should have been Tali's place to shine sine it is the conclusion of the quarian/geth plotline. She should have had a huge role to play. Instead her role there will be optional, meaning it will have to be small.

ME2 was a waste of her since she wasn't even important to the plot and had no real motivation to go on the suicide mission. She had no character arc. Garrus at least got an arc and so did several of the other characters.

Aren't snipers useless?[ not gameplaywise[

But we are supposed to have a mobile squad, a sniper needs distance and time and most of the times the enemies are in close quarters, having your main be a sniper is not very good for the close quarters firefights.

I have to admit; I like Legion, but the whole "the quarians are eeeevil and the geth are innocent" viewpoint that some seem to have makes me facepalm. At least it would if I had palms.
