It's too bad it had to end like this though.

i meant when we were first introduced to her in me1
i recall my first play i did not talk to her at all.
i also did not feel comfortable giving her access to the ship drive, seriously letting a random alien we met yesterday have full access?

What made you dislike her? Something in the leak?Saphra Deden wrote...
In ME1 I didn't like Tali at all, though I didn't dislike her either, until after I had to get the "quarian ally achievement". Taking her everywhere with me I finally saw her wonderful sense of humor and how well rounded she was. I was touched by our last conversation in ME1 where she told Shepard how much it meant to her that she'd been treated like just another member of his crew.
It's too bad it had to end like this though.

Yes, though her actions in ME2 were pretty despicable as well. However I was willing to forgive that considering the circumstances.

Oh, you've got to be kidding. What about the billions of quarians that died? The centuries the survivors spent in exile? What about the heretics, who are still geth, who killed god knows how many people during the events of ME1? And then there's Haestrom, where the "true" geth just assumed the quarians were there to destroy them, so they killed dozens there, too. And all the other countless ships that went too deep into the Veil.Saphra Deden wrote...
No it didn't.
The geth are all nice and want peace but the quarians won't let them. It was the quarians' falt the war happened.
Legion is a funny guy, but that doesn't mean the geth are any less dangerous. Worse, as Overlord and the heretic virus proved, their affiliation can be changed suddenly and without warning. All the geth care about is their own survival, and even that can be taken from them by a powerful enough technology. You and I have enough brains to know that. Those that don't would probably just side with whether they liked Tali or Legion better, anyway.
We probably would have had that discussion if Legion weren't dropped on us at the end of the game. Alas, there are a lot of shoulda-coulda-wouldas in Mass Effect. Imagine, for a moment, if we got Caleston--a whole hub world--instead of dinky ol' Therum, a railroad track with two miniboss fights. You might be able to get away with this if the game actually let you confront Legion about the quarian genocide because at least then you'd able to talk about that and that's a great moral discussion. However the game doesn't allow this. So instead we just got preaching and a bunch of friendly toasters.
Or they made a great squadmate and a great sideplot and you're just mad that it doesn't favor Tally-Wally.I guess Bioware was trying to be ironic.
Oh, like the batarians? The geth can be alive and not be likable, lovable, do-the-robot, people.

Cheez, you should know me well enough to know that I don't see the quarian/geth issue this way. However that is how ME2 insists on portraying it and they do that largely through the way they portray Legion.

You see a lot of things in ways most people don't. Occasionally, that provides wonderful insight for the rest of us. Just as frequently, however, you jump nuts-first into an abyss of twisted logic and borderline sociopathy.Saphra Deden wrote...

Full of angry little fishies that jump up and insult people.
Such is the cost of your genius, I suppose.
I'm debating whether or not I meant that last line sarcastically. You are pretty damn smart.

Fine, please point out to me where the fascinating and deep quarian/geth debate is to be found in ME2?
I never saw one. Not in ME2, not in ME1. It won't be there in ME3. The interesting debate only happens on the forums. In-game the debate was decided long ago and it goes like this:
The geth are good guys, the geth are victims.
The quarians are stubborn and hateful, they are obsessed, they are flawed.
The massive quarian genocide? That's never talked about. Never. The games never bring up just how many quarians must have died or ever address the geth's role in that slaughter.
So yeah, the debate is interesting, one of my favorites, but it's not in ME2.

Hated:
Jacob-Not interesting, dies too much to be useful in gameplay.
Sorry, I couldn't help but to feel he was the "token" of the Normandy and had no other purpose.
Jack- Put a shirt on and lose some of the crazy. Also, try NOT dying every two seconds.
She's is screwed up beyond repair. A true lost cause.
