  Mass Effect 3 is almost out the door(HNNG) and I was curious-

is there any NEW information out on brand new romance options? Will there be new information out before the game ships?

Not just squad romances, but off the squad romances.

For squad mances, info like who's available. Or if we didn't romance them in ME2(like say Garrus and Tali), can we start a romance with them in ME3.

For non squaddie mances, how about who they are? Hah.

I can be patient for the main game, but I thought I'd throw that out there.

Last I heard, any romances initiated in ME2 can be continued, but not started in ME3. I don't know about Garrus and Tali though, since they're on the squad.

The only non-squad romance I know about is Miranda's, and it's not half bad, actually.

I know who the new romances are, but I shouldn't reveal them as the mods don't like people revealing spoilers.

As for the past romances, I believe that you can start up a new romance with VS/Liara, but not the ME2 romances. I do not know why this is.

Possibly to encourage new players to purchase ME2 (which has the EA attachment) to experience those romances.

Reason being(and I was just discussing this with AdmiralCheez before she went off to bed) I want to carry over a save to ME3 that has an Ash romance, but I dunno whether in ME2 I should stay loyal or romance Tali.

I want as many options as possible without having any characters go "YOU'RE JUST LIKE KIRK YOU JERK!" *open palm slap*

Ms. Cheez convinced me to romance Tali though, just to be safe.

Most likely because their arcs are too small to house the ability to develop romance with them in that amount of time.  And by that I mean the ones that aren't permy squad mates, so they decided if the rest of ME2 cast couldn't be romanced it would only be fair for Tali and Garrus not to.

You can't go wrong with romancing Tali, although as I've never had a cheating save myself, I don't know how that'll affect things.

You don't really need to worry about that, from what I've seen/read. The characters take Shepard moving on to whatever other character pretty well considering.
Edit: You might get some catty dialog from say Ashley, as AgitatedLemon said, but there doesn't seem to be any real drama.

That's what I'm expecting, to be honest.

Really?  It wasnt halfassed and rushed?  I thought Miranda's romance would fall by the wayside.

That's unlikely to happen; Shepard doesn't have to be pimpin'.  What's the scenario going to be for a Shepard who hasn't romanced anyone?  All potential LI's leave?  Well, I don't need anyone but Mordin & Zaeed (hoping Kasumi is an LI for my poor Lonely Shep ), but I'd imagine there'd be something of a backlash.

Nah, but if they DID want to do that, it'd only happen if you romanced more than one character.

I'm interested in the new romance options though. I kinda want to know who they are, but at the same time, I want to be surprised.

All the squadmates will be in M3, but only a few of them will be permanent.

Are you basically saying that say you cheated on Ashley with someone else in two that you are given a second chance of getting back with the person you betrayed?

i thought that ME2 brought in so many new characters they wouldn't need to add in new ones for ME3. Not too sure about this vega guy. First impression is some kind of hybrid between Zaeed and Jacob. Also, if you romanced ashley in the first game, but tali in the second, unsure how that will play out given both of them will now be in your squad. maybe there is some 'sexual tension' dialogue between ashley and tali. 'ex vs new gf' kind of thing.....

The off the squad romances intrigue me because I wonder just how that's going to work.

Probably like Kelly in ME2, and I imagine she'll be back and you can romance her again as well.

probably, but with kelly there was no real initiation. it seemed like a default if you didn't romance anyone else. prefer it to be a more conscious choice. and what's more, if you romanced someone in ME2, i want that to be built upon, not a similar talk dialogue, mission, flirt dialogue, mission, love scene kind of thing. I want it bigger, more options, more interaction.

I have a save in which sheperd is 'doing' both Liara and Thane. So  if shep can go for another person, lol.
