yeah, i got sims3 for dating, or well, my gf. ahhh real life. but doesn't stop me wanting something in ME3 for the romantics among us. cuddling or head bumping, not hardcore enough. not saying i want a hardcore sex scene. I'm just saying, not just ME, but most games fail on the romantic front. only one I've found that even comes close to having a credible romantic and emotional storyline is final fantasy x. then again, that was kind of the main story arc and ME is primarily a third person shooter, so it would detract kind of from the main story....ummm.....

note, for those of you who haven't read my earlier posts. i usually disprove my own statements and render my points..well...pointless. guess that comes from being an eccentric brit.

anyway, my point is, is there room in ME3 to kick reaper arse whilst having a credible deep relationship with another character which doesn't make me think shepherd just gets horny before a mission.

Depends on what kind of dialogue and action you expect a 'credible deep' relationship entails, in a video game no less. Some characters get sufficient camera time and dialogue, others kind of get the shaft.

You will definitely be playing multiple playthroughs to find out which pairing dialogue satisfies you the most.

which is kind of where ME2 fell down a bit. too many characters, for both combat and dialogue. practically, yeah you'd need that many people for the suicide mission, but i always found myself using the same people for missions, and after the first play through where you go round talking to everyone, it got boring a second time so just talked to those i cared about. e.g mordin because he's just funny, and tali because well, i love kayley off firefly. With so many squad mates, it meant you only had about four sections of dialogue with each person before they ran out of things to say. mordin, zaeed, garrus, tali, and thane were the only characters in ME1 and ME2 i actually cared about using or talking to. and I appear to have gone off topic. someone bring it back to romance

I know who the new romances are, but I shouldn't reveal them as the mods don't like people revealing spoilers.

As for the past romances, I believe that you can start up a new romance with VS/Liara, but not the ME2 romances. I do not know why this is.

Seeing as how you know who the new romances  are, but can't reveal spoilers. Does that meant you KNOW for a fact that the VS/Liara are romances you can start? Or is that just speculation?

Yes, I have in fact seen dialogue that appears to be Shepard starting a romance with those characters.

I don't believe that's at all clear. Could go either way, from what we've seen.

It's because the script is just 'Shepard', not FemShep or MaleShep. Hard to tell which gender is hitting on which.

Nice

However, let's say I have a romance with Liara and stayed faithful to her, would I be able to start a romance with the VS? Or is it only for people who didn't romance anyone in the ME1?

I'm asking because I picked Liara over Ash in ME1 when they confronted me and made me choose, It seems kind of odd to start a romance with Ash in ME3 given that I chose Liara over her and stayed faithful.

It's not clear, only that ME1 romances can be picked up on in ME3. You can however break up with your LI upon meeting and I suppose that could 'open the door' to romancing another.

Looking at the Kaidan new romance lines, they seem to fit same sex more, but I couldn't say for certain.

So the only way to have a romance with a ME2 character is to romance them in that game and then carry that romance over.

Got it.

ME2 romances are better in my opinion anyway. never got this obsession some people have over Liara and Ash. cue posts from Liara and Ash fans. Liara or Ash, which one is better, only one way to find out....fight!!!
by the way, i'm a Tali fan

We don't know yet for sure. But at least with Kaidan, it's seems likely

Hoping for a lot of romance opportunities without dealing with catty Ash dialogue.

Which is bad to hope for, since I romanced Ash. Dagnabbit.

I wonder if you can do more with your love interest than just stand there and talk.

Goddamn, I'm want to take them out for a bite to eat, some dancing, SOMETHING, christ.

Yes, dammit. I mean, you'll be passing through the Citadel picking up upgrades and meeting with the galactic leaders anyway; if you've gotta eat regardless, why not make a date of it?

Not to mention having sex more than once a year would be nice.

There's a mod for DAO where you could initiate a fade to black at the camp whenever you wanted. Or a kiss and so on. That sort of thing would be appreciated. I don't see why intimate moments have to be treated like a trophy. There now you worked your butt off to impress your LI you get a tender/sexy scene before the final battle! Whoo! That was fine for the first game, in ME3 it shouldn't be like that.. Not that I'm being optimistic...

I'd say the endings don't really set the mood for dates post-war..

That as well.

I can understand having sex only once with someone like Tali, unless she keeps preparing for it, but for other characters, there shouldn't be anything stopping it.

Plus, its a good way to release pressure.

Man, it was hard to write that last sentence.
