Hi guys,

I was wondering : me and my friend both have copies of Baldur's gate, but I've put different mods on mine, so we figured out, the easiest way to play together would be so that I copy my files onto his computer.

This done, my game works properly. But on his computer, when we select baldur.exe, it asks if we want to install the game - IE, as it was not installed yet- though it's supposed to have evrything.

I thought of changing the baldur.ini to the new valeus that were supposed to be set for his computer, but it didn't change anything. I'm thinking of maybe changing something in the regedit, but I don't really know what to do with this...

Is there a way he could play like this?

Thanks a bunch, peace.

IMO the best way to fix it now would be to un-install the game from your friends computer then re-install it. Now copy & paste your game files to that address i.e replace the files that he has with your ones.

Ok, so he maybe should install them somewhere onto his computer, and once it's done, overwrite all the files with the one I gave him. I understand, we could try.
Could it work using a no-cd key?

I’m sorry ArchMalile but I can’t debate no-cd issues on this forum because that’s against the posting rules... just FYI.

If you want to play without a cd you could always buy the game from GOG. Good value and you can download as many times as you want (so you could download onto both your and your friends computer).
