Okay, I know this is sooo left field, but I am curious as to what the general fanbase thought on this.
I don't know if this has been discussed before, but forgive me if I missed it.
I play SWTOR and was in the group that hated the idea initially. Now I really like the game.
With that said, I think a ME MMO would be more successful. That is due to the fact that we already have three games that has introduced us to the universe. Plus believe it or not, this IP is more "fresh" than Star Wars which is very well establish over the past decades. I think more people would dive in.
Now I am not sure what the story setup would or should be for this game as an MMO, but I think the idea of creating a character from all of the races would be fun building up and being part of the many factions in the game. If they would do it though, I would want it to truly be fresh on mechanics and such opposed to traditional MMOs.
What are your thoughts on this?
If this doesn't belong in this forum, I apologize again.
Would you play a Mass Effect MMO?

Yes! And after diving into SWTOR even more yes, because I know even though SWTOR is great the team around ME is even better at creating a story background and characters with incredible depth to them. 100% yes!

I would prefer a high quality open world game, but if Bioware did decided to make Mass Effect into a MMO I would play it none the less.

Back in '10 there was a thread showing how to do it. I totally forgot how, but it involves messing with some DA:O files.

I don't play MMOs.
MMORPGS at least.
The only online games that I play are highly competitive ultra fast paced FPSs like Battlefield 3 and Quake Live.
Except from these 2 games, which I play for fast action competition,I want all my other game experiences to be single player.
Single Player games are just so far more immersive, when you don't have naked dudes jumping up and down all the time or spoiling at the chat window parts of the game or chating for real world things like politics...
Real humans make games loose their immersion and I love to be immersed on the games I play.

Guild wars has a single player mode where you only see people in the hubs. Could do something like that

Yup, I'm playing SWTOR right now and it is great. I would love to play a ME MMO.

I'd sooner they just stick with expanding the universe in another series of single player RPGs. It's what I bought the first Mass Effect for, and if that universe and franchise continues to expand beyond ME3 I want to just get stronger and stronger with each step. I've never played an MMO that's matched a single player RPG in terms of depth and quality, and even if there was one out there I don't want to pay a monthly fee for it, especially when Bioware's single player RPGs have enough re-playability to them to keep a person hooked for years.
